so i really don't use lj that much anymore, but i realized that i have three years of waldsee memories posted here, and in the interest of tradition, i had to do it again. i'm sure i left out tons of stuff, but at least i got some of it down. feel free to add.

-late night trips to country kitchen during MVO and the waiter who spazzed at nikola for swearing
-the creepy dudes in big trucks who showed up at the beach just as we got to the part of MVO where you discuss stereotypes.
- talking about sprache im haus for 45 hours. Just kidding, that was not actually a good time.
-christian, and the rest of the super cool lac du bois Hackensack staff
-heidi as babe for moomba
-the german version of super nanny that Manfred showed us
- me: aren’t they annoying
Kai: (still thinking we’re talking about mucken): nah, you get used to them after enough years
Me: no, I mean the girls in my house (oh, haus tuebingen. That was interesting)
-	Carmela, who is awesome
-	My fear of august
-	Steffi’s obsession with four square (its boxball, damn it, seriously, are the residents of scarsdale, ny the only people in the entire universe who call it that?)
-	Eugen on Fest abend
-	All the berlinale films, especially brokeback waldsee, the werbung ag, and unterricht mit eugen
-	Michi’s guitar playing skills
-	Crazy mina and haus stuttgart’s love of the word lobotomy
-	Tribute
-	The small
-	Long talks at dunn brothers
-	“biohaus, biohaus, biohaus du bit cool, biohaus, biohaus, biohaus du bist toll, biohaus biohaus du bist wunder-b-bar-b-bar-b-bar-b-bar”
-	Tobi. I have angst that the betreuerschaft will corrupt him though. That must not happen. The doofe jung must be ahnungslos forever, otherwise it might be a signal of the apocalypse
-	On that note: “my brother’s problem with women is that he thinks they’re all schlampes. Mine is that sometimes I can be a little clueless.”
-	pillow fight with Robert
-	gruen
-	Juliana fighting with everyone to see the hookup predictions
-	Team mannschaft
-	The creepy gebaeude past Lac du Bois
-	My obsession with going to Russian camp
-	Waldemar is the nicest person ever. Ok, not nicer than silke, but close.
-	Parties with Neb
-	LKT 1 tanz for nur ein wort
-	Mannschaft I-tag tanz. I’m still so proud of them. And Carmen totally saved us.
-	Paerchenwald, this time betreuer-massig
-	Our super sexy lime green question mark shirts
-	I’m really quite fond of the i-tag lied…and the tanz as well. Is that wrong?
-	Mop zimmer leute. Tear.
-	My familie from hell, and my encounter with michi’s love of schadenfreude
-	The suggestions for i-tag theme 2007: chastity/abstinence, bubbles, pie and zombies vs. ninjas
-	Bogenscheissen
-	I-tag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (this from a girl who used to think i-tag was bs. I realized that I actually believe in all those things that clv tends to express in the cheesiest way possible… “creating a world where everyone understands” for example
-	Nikola’s inability to stop laughing after GB82 haus graz confessed to being in love with Gabriel
-	Tscheuss lkts, viel spass bei kuscheln
-	Rudi
-	Franzi being the awesomest person in the history of people
-	BG 2005 version 2.0
-	Moscow dada-massig
-	Working in the kueche with Klaus and bodo- particularly leeche day, and my battle against the bread slicer. Those were good days
-	dorfmenschen
-	GB02 haus graz. They were pretty super
-	Trying to find our girls for breakfast at the biohaus program, only to find them straightening kai and anton’s hair
-	Anton is a pretty cool kid, by the way. So is leoni, and of course kai.
-	wolf
-	Sepp, silke, and the british accent
-	Being an alien, and not figuring out what the heck was going on in my verse of the betreuer song, even though it should have been obvious
-	Familie tintenfisch, aka best familie in history. Ok, maybe not quite, but at least the best one I’ve ever had
-	Betreuer vprs
-	My “please do not send your child back to waldsee” checkbox
-	Streichelzoo!!!!
-	Biohaus program, and how it has corrupted me. Every time I do something that doesn’t spar energie, I freak out a little in my head
-	Favorite betreuer mu-a
-	Jarhbuch ag!!!!!
-	Haus berlin being in love with august
-	Trying to explain lac du bois school to meta
-	My imitation of haus linz
-	Lena’s super-affectionateness (wow, that is so not a word. I should go to sleep) when drunk that reminds me of me.
-	Rutger’s party, even though we had to experience karl’s lapse in parenting judgement. Its not like the boy didn’t have other places he could have been. Oy.
-	Just cause it has to be said: pot brownies

sometimes you have to give up the idea that you aren't a dork. so i have returned to my previous photoshop addiction. cause...house! i think its pretty obvious which ships i like. and happily, expect more icons on their way. i feel inspired. and yes, i realize that the whole white border thing is really overused right now, but i like it, so too bad. EDIT: grr. i realized that at least for the way i have my comments set up, you can't see the borders. oh well, figure it out.
1. 2. 3. 4.
5. 6. 7.

1&2 have lyrics from Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls, and 5 is from some random dido song. i'm not remembering which one right now. and at somepoint i'll have some clever text for the base that is currently being used in my default icon, but right now its 4 in the morning and im not feeling to creative. but its just begging for something witty.
stolen from queenie

You say you LOVE Musical Theater/Broadway? Let’s see how much. Next to each show put one of the following.

* (X) If you have heard of the show
* (CD) If you own/listen to the CD (I put this in for the movies I own too)
* (SEEN) If you have seen the show (Professional, Community Theater, etc) If you’ve seen it more than once write the number after SEEN
* ("Your Part") If you have been in it (put your particular part)

Leave it BLANK if none of the options apply ...

1776: X SEEN. oh man, this was definetely part of our 5th grade curriculum. we watched the movie like 3 times and then went to see it on b-way. by the end of the year, the entire grade knew all the songs and sung them ALL the time.
42nd Street: X SEEN. The only show I've seen on b-way twice actually. cause it rocks seriously a lot.
A Chorus Line: X ahhh, i'm so excited its being revived this spring. party, woohoo.
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum: X SEEN. it was the senior class play for the grade above mine.
A Little Night Music: X
All Shook Up: X
Allegro:
Altar Boyz: X
Annie Get Your Gun: X (SEEN) - when Bernadette Peters was in it, yo. (birkenbaum says: oooh me too!)
Annie: X - i swear i've seen it live, but im not sure where or when. obviously i've seen the movie.
Anything Goes: X
Aspects of Love:
Assassins: X its supposed to be good
Avenue Q: X (CD) - OMG I WANT TO SEE THIS SO BADLY. (birkenbaum says: me too. come visit me you whore and we'll go ;) )
Barnum: X
Beauty and the Beast: X SEEN. first thing I ever saw on broadway.
Big:
Blast: X
Bombay Dreams: I had the opertunity to go in London, and i regret that i didnt, cause the american production was supposed to be much shittier.
Brigadoon: X (SEEN) - at Scarsadale High School
Bye Bye Birdie: X
Cabaret: X - i wish wish i had seen this, it played forever, and then by the time i was old enough not to be yelled at for wanting to see it, it closed. grr.
Camelot: X
Carousel: X
Cats: X SEEN.
because i really do heart my sister...

this is for julia, who won't shut up. boo hoo princess. but i heart u, i swear.

so this weekend, i went to MINNEAPOLIS!!!!!!! or, more precisely, somewhere in between wayzata and minnetonka. its complicated. but i think the jist it like its like living in the mamaroneck strip where you live there and go to our schools. except ina goes to hopkins schools. whatever, no one ever said minnesota was logical. but yes, i visited inalein, and had an AMAZING time. (zenzi, don't hate me, i did call you, you just didnt pick up.) we went to byerly's like four times in 3 days. umm, and we went bowling with nik aka the man whore, watched movies, had a pancake party with elfi, liese and rainer, and just generally chilled. it rocked my socks. i love minnesota. umm, but can we talk about how the chicago L sucks? on the way home, i spent 48 minutes on the plane, but an hour and a half on the stupid L that doesn't go anywhere useful and is slow and never comes when you want it to so you end up standing around at the Howard stop waiting forever to transfer from the useless red line to the even more useless purple line. grrr. i wish i was working at winter waldsee this weekend though, the hopkins junior high is going and that means dippy and the man whore and a bunch of other cool kids. sadly, i have a real life though. in this other crazy state.

so this weekend i begin the first steps of sorority recruitment. before you yell at me for thinking about joining a sorority, i'm going to defend myself by saying that there are some cool ones, not just ones for crazy blond girls who dont eat. i swear. but yeah, we're doing some sort of philanthropy day thing. meet people in houses, do charity work, bla bla.

someone please tell me i'm not the only one who thinks oprah's dumb. cause i'm here in chicago, land of oprah, and i'm apparently in the minority. also, i'm dying for real pizza. seriously, i was watching sex and the city the other day, and they were at Ray's Pizza, and i was like, noooooo! i want some. will have to fulfill that craving and get my bagel fix too, cause i'm morally opposed to einstein bagels. i was told that i had to tone down the new york elitism before i got here, and i try my best, but with food its hard to be convinced...

lalala, two weeks till thanksgiving and a bath! baths may be the thing i miss most at college. that or NYCB. and possibly my sister...;)

um, can we talk about how one of the songs on the latest Wir sind Helden cd is called zuhaelter? Its kind of a wierd sounding song, but it makes me laugh. well, cause, you know. "Gibt mir ein Wort" "...Zuhaelter!" and all the other related jokes. and while we're on that subject, where is the lustige Zitaten list? and how about my pants?

School is going well, two of my classes for this week are cancelled, so that rocks. I can sleep in tommorow! woohoo. and i have to do a german presentation on Bremerhaven, which is as far as I'm concerned the randomest topic ever, but oh well. it shouldn't be that challenging. other then that, not much is going on. carmen is really next week, I got confused, which is going to make it the best week ever, because ballet and opera in the same week? whoot.

my life is lame, i really have nothing exciting to say, sorry people.

so Madison with Maja was really fun. We went to some party for a friend of hers who got engaged and watched garden state and talked a lot. but the randomest part...so we were in her dorm for literally 10 minutes, when her phone rings and says Angelika is calling, but she looses the call because apparetly there's no service on college campuses anywhere. but we figure Geli just dialed wrong. But no. she gets another call, and Geli's like, I'm driving back to Notre Dame from Heinz's wedding in the Cities (which I totally thought was later in October, but whatever), and Madison's on the way, do you want to have lunch on sunday? ao Maja's like yeah, and by the way, Liane's here too. So we had lunch with Geli, and then she's like, you know, I have to go through Chicago, you should come with me so I don't have to drive alone and you dont have to take the bus. so i did, which rocks cause the bus is a bitch. and then we passed a sign for beloit, and i was like, well, nikola's there for the weekend, and she has to come back sometime, so I called her and we picked her up too. which rocked. road trips are awesome

Leila, Courtney, Hannah, Mina, Erik (i have no idea how he spells it, thanks to waldsee i just assume its a k) and Jennifer.

Me in a Bobby's hat in an army/navy surplus store on the photo safari. i really like this hat...british people rock.

So no more photos cause photobucket is evil, but two observations:
I just got a fortune cookie fortune that said my lover would never want to leave me. which is awesome, but there is the little problem of not having a lover...darn.

Something we should add to the "everything i needed to know i learned at Waldsee" poster: at least there are shower curtains, so stop complaining! seriously people, its not that big a deal. But know i know all those little girls who had to be given speechs about not wearing a swimsuit to shower are still paranoid about stuff like being naked in the girls bathroom...its funny how waldsee teaches you that running around with minimal clothing, having orgies, and/or crossdressing are all perfectly routine behavior...

anyway, bye for now

so today livejournal told me to "Please confirm you are a human below." it was very strange. but anyway, classes are going well, and german is really easy and kind of funny. For example, "aufstehen" is a difficult concept for the students, which requires explination and a lot of waldsee style hand motions. and "umwelt" is way over their heads. and one of our vocab words for the day besuchen. and we reviewed question words today. i taught kinder question words. but, i will actually learn adjective endings and stuff, which is good. and i suppose they're nothing wrong with an easy class. but it could be much more interesting. and i'm not sure i love my professors teaching style, but oh well.
And then i was up til 3:30 last night. talking with Anne and Drew in the basement. which was fun. but i has a 9:30 class, and i was so tired. but my discussion section for tomorrow got cancelled, so all i have is freshman seminar at 11. it should be a good day. actually most days are good days, so i definetely got over the depression of las week.

Classes start today. What a bizzare concept. I haven't gone to class since late April. But anyway, it should be interesting. I meant to do that class posting thing that nikola always does, but it will have to wait cause i don't have much time now. But yes, college is interesting...for example...

"Taylor, did you get eaten by the washing machine?" ~Me and the rest of our suite. Cause she can disappear for hours when she says she's just going to put the wash in the dryer, and we have no clue where she is.

"It's always down in my pant." ~Drew, while playing catchphrase

The creepy guy. So not a good way to end your first week of college.

Stealing free food whenever possible.

Oh yes, and Evanston Target is not as good as White Plains Target or Bemidji Target. But i think it's being renovated, so i should give it a chance. but you can't have target with out the $1 aisle where the stuff is only useful for giving to your gute Fee person.

So yeah, things are going better. Hung out with Nikola for awhile yesterday, which was a nice break. we went to marble slab, the crazy place that she talks about every time we go to coldstone. and she's right, its better. well, anything's better than coldstone, cause i'm allergic. so yeah, and we found borders. or i did. queenie knew where it was. obviously. which made my life. isn't this just a thrilling post?

so yeah, random stuff. if you get a package here, they put a little slip of paper in your mailbox that tells you about where to pick it up...its all waldseemassig.

umm, not much else to say. registration is today. should be a party.

More Waldsee love...

Ok, so today instead of cleaning my room, i went and looked for old waldsee pictures that weren't already in my photo album. this is what i came up with...

a new cutest picture ever...ina and nick. doesn't he look sweet and innocent?

look at baby tobias...doesn't he look so...ahnungslos?

This is why I love old Waldsee pictures...you have a photo of someone you once new and have now forgotten, but then in the corner...Matz! for example.

Every picture of my sister is adorable, apparently, and when you add david looking all young (he's still young, but thats not the point)its all like awwww that never stops

a 2003 betreuer photo. what's benjamins deal? and why do we look so young this year compared to how they look. oh yeah, stupid generations wechsel

look, the year i was in a familie! with bastian apparentlty.

why i think of ina as haus wien girl. and what happened to that mural dealie. innsbruck and zurich still have theirs, but what happened to the others? its like the amazing disappearing old hell blau tischschilds (don't get me started on those, you know i won't shut up)

the habt ihr hunger thing, i think. alternatively just inge/ina looking a bit scary.

look at liese's hair!

wee dietmar. he was pretty cute then, but hansy was cuterr...not sure what i did with those photos though. and look, ilse.

more old photos here: http://photobucket.com/albums/a156/waldseeliane/Old%20Waldsee/
and this year (some of which i stole from nikola and ina), with really entertaining titles, here:
http://photobucket.com/albums/a156/waldseeliane/Waldsee%2005/

wow, i always come back and think the years can't get any better, but they just do...being a betreuer is the best thing that ever happened to anyone, and i HAVE to go back next year. Waldsee is addictive, and you can't not keep going back. i was actually happy to go home at the end, just cause i was exhausted, but now i miss it like crazy... but as usual, the memories/ quoutes list (nikola, i will admit to stealing your and editing/adding to it, i didn't want to forget anything...)

-Moomba spiel in Bemidji
-Haus Linz the first two weeks...our kinder thought we were insane, and living with nikola was the best thing ever
-The super hesslich Haus Linz Tischschild (its really quite hesslich...but the hausschild is mad pretty)
-margots namenschilder that she made for people
-The insane amounts of photos Karl kept taking of us during Fruehbaerchen
-HEX HEX!
-Farinmaus
-Benjafee
-Faultier! i vermisse zenzi!!!!
-telling patrick his hair looked ugly
-working on the grenze with zenzi and werner
-Zwergensumpfkind!!!!!!
-Schloss Schlampe
-13 year old girl pants
-Momo from Haus Linz and her weird cat noises
-The two Ahnungslos Kinder, except tobi is only pretending to be ahnungslos, and gab is so ahnungslos that he's living in his only little world
-Playing dodgeball/voelkerball in the dark at Skogfjorden with glow in the dark balls
-Lohegrin and his weird faces
-ododienst, which by the way i did not enjoy
-irnfried falling off the stage all the time, and his wierd kung fu thing
-"Meine Liebe, ist groesser als das Meer..."
-"Singinde Schlange..lalalalalalaaa.."
-Ulf: "Hast du eine Katze?" "Magst du Kinder? Du kannst ein Kaufen!" "Schlange, Schlange!" "Schwester Knoedel!" "Verstecken spiel"
-Wolfgang and how he randomly talked about deer all the time and walked to skjodfjorden (not sure if i can spell it, but you get the idea. and actually he was annoying and did some really innapropriate things, but some parts were entertaining)
-Kai aka Kaius actually being cool for the most part
-Martin aka DJ schnitzle...coolest 10 year old ever
-Geheimnis Betreuer (+ Lied)
-The conversations the last two weeks MW Kinder should have been way too young for but were having anyway
-LKM in general (aka Paerchen central)
-Pexi and our whole "wie geht's dir" "ja" thing
-Lilo's dance to Crazy Frog
-giving you best friend second degree burns is not a party...and then being made fun of for the rest of the week by olli
-Inalein i love you
-"Oh Babsi"
-"Oh Hermann" and the warm fuzzy i wrote to him that he always told me was the best one he got
-"Siggi!" "Hermann!" "Hast du sie gefunden?" "Nein.."
-GEIL TAG
-David: "Gib mir nur ein Wort..Xandi!" Xandi: "Zuhaelter!"
-The Betreuer version of Mein Pony
-The jumping on Xandi Tanz and Nikolai laughing at it
-Uebernachting in the Immigranten Haus and being annoying at having to miss the las MuA
-"Friedrich! Where/why did Haus Bremen learn that word?
-my haus' (hamburg) maerchen where the prince and hansel get married and all the girls are sad
-carolina being cool
-gabilein
-David scaring people in the Affen kostum.
-Goettedaemmerung 2005: How liese and i raumed liechtenstein auf by putting things in boxes, trying to give them entertaining names and making boys schlepp them...and laughing at absolutely everything cause i was so high on sugar and sleep deprevation
-Drunk calling meta and then realizing it was like 2:30 in the morning for her...and drunk calling myself (ok, it wasn't my idea)
-the sign julia made for goetterdammerung with till and theo schlepping things
-Till! (with arm gestures)
-Knirps, just in general
-Meta and the schwimmen thing at the Lagerfeuer in the middle two weeks
-How our BG was basically Maerchenwald plus Benjamin (and Margot)
-The Bananen spiel
-The Maerchenwald Theaterstuck in the letze zwei Wochen.. enough said
-My sister deciding to marry Hansy...in four years when its legal
-trying to get Hermann to admit if he likes julia or me better
-kuss kuss kuss siggi kuss kuss kuss ~ulf's signature on the email he wrote to siggi's girlfriend on betreuer fur ein tag tag
- "I have to feed the porcupines" marianne after jammers on the last night...and she actually did make up some wierd bowl of food and take it outside
-playing ligretto with susanna regeln
-udo wearing julius' shirt to jammers
-eating french fries, siggi speaking french (i was really entertained by this for some reason), being obsessively worried about not getting to say good bye to tobilein, taking photos in the bathroom, trying to throw candy into the plastic bucket for like 10 minutes with siggi, and just about everything else that happened after jammers on the last night
-the MW kinder asking if Benjamin and David were really a gay couple
-Farin coming in to get yogurt and complaining about how it was not up to his standards every morning for four weeks
-making breakfast for 200+ people every morning, alone or with bodo (he was actually a lot more fun than olli, even though olli's crazy
-arraning the kiwis pretty with helmut
-ina's paerchen zerstoerer aka water gun
- Dear Monika, we went rafting.
Senior class play was awesome actually. i had sooo much fun. i have pictures somewhere, but you'll have to wait on those because its such a hassle to load them onto the computer. but yeah, everyone did amazing, and even the pit sounded good, at least on friday they did. (mio and wendy, you always rocked.)
and i remembered my 7 lines and everything! but we got laughs, and most people sang well, and my parents even liked lola, the character who is supposed to seduce the main character. which is rare, cause usually with that stuff they're like "thats so wrong." but anyway, it was fun.

new coldplay album is really good! not quite sure what my favorite tracks are yet (i've only heard it once, and you can't really tell from that), but overall its great. there are some different sounds for them, which is good cause at times i tended to think all the old stuff sounded the same. but i do kind of miss the keyboard part from clocks. it rocks.

i think i'm kind of scared of facebook, but i "met" another soon-to-be freshman at northwestern who is going to be a lac du bois counselor, so it would be cool to meet her at mvo.

senior transition day was the most pointless thing ever. except the luncheon, that was nice.
