About Me
I am currently working as a faculty member in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Bahçeşehir University.
I received my Ph.D. (advised by Assoc. Prof. Furkan Kıraç), M.Sc., and B.Sc. degrees in Department of Computer Science at Özyeğin University (YES, Triple crown!).
My research interests focus on image restoration, camera pipeline, illuminance and colors and computational photography.
Previously, I have worked on the downstream applications of computer vision, particularly using deep learning approaches, as well as the applications of generative modeling, image-to-image translation, fashion image understanding and capsule networks.

November 1, 2025. I have started to work as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Bahçeşehir University.
June 11, 2025. We were among the finalists in “Night Photography Rendering Challenge” at NTIRE2025: New Trends in Image Restoration and Enhancement workshop and challenges on image and video processing in conjunction with CVPR 2025.
May 12, 2025. I have successfully defended my Ph.D. thesis, “Modeling the Lighting as Style Factor via Neural Networks for White Balance Correction”.
March 19, 2025. A paper titled “Feature distribution statistics as a loss objective for robust white balance correction” was accepted to Machine Vision and Applications.
February 8, 2025. A paper titled “Advancing white balance correction through deep feature statistics and feature distribution matching” was accepted to Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation.
December 4, 2024. A paper titled “Dawn: A Robust Tone Mapping Operator for Multi-Illuminant and Low-Light Scenarios” was accepted as Oral Presentation in VISIGRAPP 2025: 20th International Joint Conference on Computer Vision, Imaging and Computer Graphics Theory and Applications.
March 17, 2024. We take the 9th place in “Night Photography Rendering Challenge” at NTIRE2024: New Trends in Image Restoration and Enhancement workshop and challenges on image and video processing in conjunction with CVPR 2024.
August 6, 2023. A paper titled “Deterministic Neural Illumination Mapping for Efficient Auto-White Balance Correction” was accepted to RCV 2023: The 1st ICCV 2023 Workshop on Resource Efficient Deep Learning for Computer Vision at ICCV 2023.
March 10, 2023. We take the 7th place in “Night Photography Rendering Challenge” at NTIRE2023: New Trends in Image Restoration and Enhancement workshop and challenges on image and video processing in conjunction with CVPR 2023.
July 21, 2023. We are selected as the recipients of Kaggle Awards for ML Reproducibility Challenge 2022 and rewarded with Google Cloud coupons (10K). Also, personally nominated for “Outstanding Reviewer” and rewarded with Google Cloud coupons (5K).
April 24, 2023. We submitted 2 reproduction reports to ML Reproducibility Challenge 2022, and one of these reports titled “[Re] Exact Feature Distribution Matching for Arbitrary Style Transfer and Domain Generalization” was accepted to ReScience Journal Publication.
October 23, 2022. We have presented 3 accepted papers as Oral Presentation in Advances in Image Manipulation workshop in conjunction with ECCV 2022.
October 11, 2022. A paper titled “Modeling the Lighting in Scenes as Style for Auto White-Balance Correction” was accepted to IEEE/CVF Winter Conference on Applications of Computer Vision (WACV).
October 5, 2022. Our journal “[Re] Lifting 2D StyleGAN for 3D-Aware Face Generation” published in the special edition of ReScience Journal is invited to the Journal Showcase Poster Session at NeurIPS 2022.
September 28, 2022. A paper titled “Generalization to Unseen Viewpoint Images of Objects via Alleviated Pose Attentive Capsule Agreement” was accepted to Neural Computing and Applications.
May 27, 2022. We are organizing a challenge on Instagram Filter Removal at AIM2022: Advances in Image Manipulation in conjuction with ECCV2022.
April 14, 2022. A paper titled “Patch-wise Contrastive Style Learning for Instagram Filter Removal” was accepted as Oral Presentation to NTIRE2022: New Trends in Image Restoration and Enhancement workshop and challenges on image and video processing in conjunction with CVPR 2022.
April 11, 2022. We submitted 1 reproduction report to ML Reproducibility Challenge 2021, and this report titled “[Re] Lifting 2D StyleGAN for 3D-Aware Face Generation” was accepted to ReScience Journal Publication.

January 05, 2022. I successfully passed Ph.D. Qualification Exam.
December 28, 2021. As T-Fashion, we have re-located the company base to Toronto, Canada after the seed investment.

December 24, 2019. I gave a talk on recent advances in computer vision as part of SEC405 Panel at Özyeğin University.
November 2, 2019. A paper titled “Fashion Image Retrieval with Capsule Networks” was presented in Second Workshop on Computer Vision for Fashion, Art and Design as part of ICCV 2019 Workshops.
September 5, 2019. I have been accepted to Ph.D. of Computer Science at Özyeğin University.
August 19, 2019. I successfully defended my M.Sc. thesis, “Clothing Image Retrieval with Triplet Capsule Networks”.
February 18, 2019. I have been assigned as Research Assistant to Department of Computer Science at Özyeğin University
