Birdcall is a casual chicken restaurant nestled in Boulder’s bustling 29th Street corridor, offering a modern take on classic fried chicken favorites. Its atmosphere strikes a balance between laid-back and lively, with clean, simple interiors and upbeat music setting a positive tone for a quick bite or a casual meet-up.

This spot is designed for those who appreciate straightforward, well-crafted fried chicken—whether it’s the signature Original Chicken Sandwich or the Buffalo Chicken salad packed with flavorful toppings like bacon and blue cheese dressing. For anyone not strictly looking for fried fare, the Mediterranean and Asian salads offer fresh options with bright dressings and mix-ins that show some thought behind the menu.

Ordering happens mostly digitally, either online or at the kiosk, making it ideal for grab-and-go occasions or casual dining without pressure. The space includes arcade games, adding a low-key entertainment layer that makes Birdcall attractive for groups looking to hang out without the trappings of a full-service sit-down experience.

Families will find the kid’s meals particularly accommodating, with options like gluten-free nuggets and a small lemonade that rounds out the meal nicely. Don’t miss the loaded tots with cheese sauce for a crunchy side, though some might find them a bit mild. The treat selection includes individually wrapped marshmallow bars and chocolate chip pretzel cookies—small indulgences that hit the spot after the main meal.

Locals who frequent Birdcall tend to highlight the friendly, responsive staff and the ease of ordering, which together create a sense of reliability. The clean dining area and upbeat vibe make it a welcoming stop for lunch or early dinner. Those who enjoy a casual, no-fuss dining environment with a focus on solid fried chicken and a few well-chosen sides and salads will find Birdcall fitting for a quick yet satisfying meal.

Best times to visit are midday or early evening, when the space feels lively but not crowded, allowing guests to enjoy the arcade games and the upbeat, yet chill, atmosphere. If you’re in Boulder looking for a fried chicken fix without the hassle of traditional sit-down service, Birdcall’s blend of convenience, tasty staples, and a few playful extras makes it a good choice.

My husband and I order take out all the time and love birdcall. Just picked up an order where something was missing and another thing was wrong and we called and they handled it so nicely!!! I of course dont want something to be missing or wrong but because of the way they handled it we will 100% be back! Love the queso they added to the menu too!

Cute spot serving fried chicken. You order online or at the kiosk. Chicken was good. Perfect even. I’m not sure how to explain that while there was nothing wrong with it, it didn’t stand out either. I had the southern sandwich and mh had tenders. We share the loaded tots which were fine but a bit bland and I wouldn’t reorder. I gave 4 stars for service because there wasn’t really true service and it was just fine. The food came out fast. But if you needed anything, it was kind of awkward talking through the cubbies (bays) where the food is placed. Overall a good experience. The place is super cute and I’d eat there again if asked.

I went with my girls to eat at Birdcall and I highly recommend it! I got a vanilla shake and a buffalo sandwich and I can positively say the flavours were melting on my tongue. The staff were so nice and put a smile on my face, especially Shital who rang me up. The arcade games were too fun and I ended up defeating my opponent which added to the winner atmosphere which I thrive in. Overall, I would rate this place highly and would love to spread the good vibes of Birdcall

Best chicken sandwiches and tenders hands down that I have had in Colorado! Yes, even better than Hypnotik Chicken in Steamboat!! Tots are excellent, crispy on the outside and tender after the crunch. Get the cheese dipping sauce, you’re welcome…beer, cider, soda machine and arcade-yeah it’s chill. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

I had the teriyaki chicken sandwich and the grilled caesar chicken sandwich. Both were delicious with solid flavors, but just fairly decent chicken pieces. Plenty of parking, handicap parking, good location.

Birdcall on 29th Street in Boulder is hands down one of the best spots around! The atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming — you walk in and instantly feel good vibes. They’ve got games you can play while you wait, which makes it a fun hangout and not just another quick stop for food. Speaking of food, it’s amazing. Everything was fresh, hot, and full of flavor. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. But what really stood out to me was the customer service. The staff was genuinely helpful and upbeat — one of them even tipped me off about a promo code I could use, which saved me some money. That kind of service is rare these days. Great food, great people, and a cool place to chill. What more could you ask for?

We loved this place! The food was great, affordable, and fast. Plus the service was on point and the manager on duty was, "A plus" in helping make the experience for our kids perfect. It was the first time my husband and I have relaxed at a meal in a LONG time. The boys loved the video games and were so entertained! This was a great place to visit after an early morning hike. Thank you!
