penny for my thoughts

In my opinion, when you post something online and invite people to read it, it is available to the public and subject to their picking and prodding. If you reveal something deeply personal or a piece that you might think is some of your best work, and others don’t seem to agree, it’s only fair. When you post something, you generally want an opinion or a reaction of some sort, and that’s exactly what you’re going to get, whether it be good or bad. Feedback is called feedback for a reason, and if you don’t like what you get fed-back, then don’t post something that you would not want commented on. If no one comments on it, it doesn’t mean no one read it. People might not have been especially moved and thus did not feel inclined to leave praise or criticism – it happens all the time, and I bet you’ve read fics where you didn’t comment, either. Don’t wear your heart on your sleeve; you have to be tough in order survive. That’s one thing I’ve learned in my time in the fanfiction community.

Yes, this was merely a self-picker-upper, because I’ve always felt intimidated when I post my fiction. This is not directed to any of you, or anyone else, really. Just for me.

*gulp* Yeah, just finished an SV fic (more than a page long this time - yay! though it still might be considered a drabble to some *lol*) for a challenge I was issued. It's to be revealed April 6, the deadline, and I'm just mentally prepping myself so that I'm not disappointed or intimidated by criticism/feedback etc.. Like I said, this post doesn't apply to anyone but myself.

Also - would anyone care to beta it?? I'm pretty sure I need it.
