I just watched Hard Candy..... oh my god was that the most depressing thing I've ever seen.
I know I'm not supposed to sympathize with Patrick Wilson's character, I KNOW OKAY? But I can't help if I do a smidge... I don't dislike either character really... Haley totally went about EVERYTHING the wrong way, and I don't condone her behavior (or his for that freaking matter of course) but I admire her balls (aha, no pun intended). At the same time I can also sympathize with Jeff a little, if only for the torturous situation that we see him in. And I feel bad saying that, because pedophilia is absolutely wrong and messed up.
