We arrived at our hotel Friday night around 10pm, then went to eat dinner. Blah blah blahcakes - no one cares. But lemme just say, our hotel wasn't half as bad as I thought it'd be. Still, we used our own sheets on the bed because the stains on their coverlets looked pretty gross.
Saturday morning, we get up, go eat at the Pancake house and then arrive about an hour early for the 2pm matinee showing.
Me, next to the sign.
We hang around out front then finally we get to go inside, and the theatre is SO TINY you guys, it's awesome. I was seriously overjoyed at how intimate it was. We sat on the rightmost section in front of the stage, and we had an incredible view of the stage. When the play starts, Jensen actually RUNS UP THE AISLE in the dark right NEXT TO US before he runs up the stage in his first scene and I can't get over how COOL that was. Kaffee's desk is like, right there. He has a nifty name plate and some files/folders that he messes around with as he talked with Sam - and yes, Jensen's first line is "Sam!" and it is awesome!
Needless to say, Jensen is great on stage, you can tell he absolutely loves it, and he gives his performance his all as does the rest of the cast. He goes through all the range of emotions - witty, sarcastic, funny humor to sad and to determined to angry and so riled up that he curses a couple of times - "Fuck you!", "you son of a bitch", and "shit" were a few of the expletives said. Jensen cursing is a hot, hot thing. Ben Rauch, who plays Sam, is also fabulously funny and adorable (more on him later!). Lou Diamond Phillips is fantastic, and I love how buff he is. Lydia Mackay who plays Jo does a wonderful job, too! I love the dialogue between Kaffee and Jo in the baseball scene, and Jensen is too cute for words there. The play was so awesome!
Some things I loved about the play:
-Jensen running up the aisle and saying "Sam!" as his first line. -UNIFORMS. I like Jensen best in his whites, although the navy jacket and pants he wears in the courtroom scenes are pretty much neck and neck with the whites. He takes off his jacket and puts it back on numerous times, and watching him button it up is one of the sexiest things. -Jensen and rolled up sleeves OMG. Sexy arms. -Jensen in the blue and white baseball shirt and red cap swinging a bat around like he was born for it -Jensen and his wonderful comedic ability/timing. He is so funny, ya'll. -All of Lou and Jensen's scenes together. Some of the most interesting scenes. -Jensen putting his arm around Sam and calling him his wife when trying to persuade Galloway to go back to court with them. -The super shiny shoes they all wore - the marines, anyway. Very shiny. Like, PVC shiny. -Lance Corporal Dawson. The bf felt he was underrated, and I have to agree. -Jensen taking off the lid of a coffee cup and smelling then drinking from it OMG!!! Cute and sexy and just THRILLING. The most thrilling five seconds of my LIFE. (heh, or, not really, but close). -Jensen doing a little hop-skip at the end of the play and getting that smirk on his face as he starts SINGING and walking off the stage - EEEE! I love the smirk he makes, it is beautiful. -How you could tell Jensen loved doing what he was doing. (Apparently he was originally uncomfortable with the idea of performing live theatre, via agt_spooky's video, and he wanted to challenge himself. Well you knocked us all dead, Jensen!) -Lou Diamond Phillips and his gumballs. -Jensen’s character stuffing his face, reminded me of Dean! J/K. He doesn’t stuff his face, but he does have one scene where he’s eating various things – I think maybe candy, but I know for sure he takes a big bite out of an apple when the scene ends. -Kaffee "punching" Dawson. -Kaffee afraid to get on a plane! Hehe. -Lou Diamond Phillips blowing smoke rings!!
Now, onto SUNDAY'S show - aka the day Meixia squeed all over the place.
Waiting in the car before the show.
These were better and closer seats than Saturdays, and we could see all the expressions on Jensen’s face, the crinkle lines around his eyes when he smiled, how he poked his cheek with his tongue NUMEROUS times (CUTEST. EVER). Oh and he gives one of the marines the bird – which I didn’t catch at Sat. show because we were sitting on the opposite side and couldn’t see what he’d done that’d been so funny that everyone laughed at.
Also, from where we were sitting on Sunday, you could see his freakin eyelashes they were so long. And in the stage lights, his eyes look startlingly bright blue. He's thinner in person, he's got a great ass, and looong legs, taller in person, HOTTER in person, and his back/shoulders, I could spend hours ogling.
We met these two girls who were sitting next to us - they were going to the Stage Door after the show and ultimately are the reason why I went back, too. I can't thank them enough, if only I knew they had an LJ or something. Wouldn't have gone back there if they hadn't gone, and it's really unfortunate that they left before Jensen and Lou both came out to sign autographs for the fans.
I had to scrawl everything down on a napkin while we ate at Dennys afterwards because I was afraid I'd forget -
-how much do I love you guys? :D
(Did you know Jensen has his own parking space? I forgot to take a picture, distracted by the Ackles....the space says "Mr. Ackles" :D )
But first, Ben Rauch and me, and I swear we had our arms around each other but the photo doesn't show it!
I look like a demented elf! Just ignore that. Ben Rauch is such a sweet, cool guy. I asked him for a picture and he was all gung-ho about it, as long as I didn’t mind if he “stood on his tippy-toes!” Aww! We talked for a little bit – he asked where we were from and I told him San Antonio, about 4-5 hours drive but we came from Austin since we’re going to school there. He said he’s from Manhattan, so we’ve both had quite a long ways to travel! Then he says he’s never been to Austin although he has a friend who lives there and he hears it’s the music capitol of the world and that he’d like to go visit one day. Then he compliments me on my necklace which is actually attached to my shirt and I was all – Thank you!! It’s attached, you know. Not really a necklace. And he says, Oh, so they’re making shirts with necklaces now…huh. Hehe!
It gets better. He then asks if boyfriend and I are related – LOL. No, I tell him, this is my bf. Then darling bf sticks out his hand for a handshake and Ben shakes his hand, so I stick out mine and he shakes my hand and I was so filled with the happy. I told him how fantastic he was and that we really enjoyed the show, and then he had to go, catching a ride with a friend I think.
So yes, Ben Rauch is such a sweetheart. He was really cool and nice for all the fans, signing stuff and taking many pictures.
A few minutes later, Jensen and Lou come out together and the Casa lady tells us we have ten minutes to get whatever it is we want signed and that we can’t take photos with them, but we can take their picture. Cameras start snapping away. I felt bad about taking too many pictures, so I limited myself to only a handful. Didn’t want to keep flashing them in the eyes while they were trying to sign stuff.
It was hard to get a good picture of Jensen, his face turned down looking at the playbooks he was signing.
Jensen wiped his brow several times – it’s Texas in June, it’s freaking 104 degrees out – and was all, ‘Whew!’, regarding the heat. A fan made a comment that he should be used to it, being a native, and he said, ‘It’s been a while!’ Lou says when you live in LA, you turn into a waffle (I think – I swear he said ‘waffle’, though). Then someone else said something along the lines of your streets in LA are air-conditioned, right? And Lou Diamond Phillips says, ‘Yeah, and our stylists follow us everywhere, too.’ *smirk!*
Some more shots of Mr. Ackles
The girl next to me as we were waiting to get our stuff signed asked Jensen when they were going to start shooting the next season of SPN and he said in about a month. He says, ‘Yep, no rest for me’ or something similar and another fan says no rest for the weary and Jensen just smiles and says ‘that’s right’. The poor guy! Always working.
The best part though – the best part is when a girl asks if Jensen knew Jared was coming to the play (re: Jared came to the play earlier in the week, as if you didn’t know already) and Jensen says, ‘No, he surprised me.’ – pause – ‘We like to do that to each other, keep each other on our toes.’ SQUEEE! Do you know what this means? Apparently they surprise each other A LOT. Popping up at random shows/events, giving each other surprise gifts for no apparent reason other than being the best buds EVER. <3 Oh boys.
A really good shot of Lou – I love his cute mole!
I tried to get a shot of both of them, but someone’s head is blocking Jensen’s face…
Okay, can we talk for a minute about Jensen’s arms?! They are utter sex. SEX, I tell you. See exhibit A:
In motion…And that smile!
Exhibit B:
Just – GUH. I love how the white shirt (so sexy on guys!) hugs his chest and his shoulders.
Again, shirt! And ARMS. He’s like, practically flexing there.
And finally, Exhibit C (you might want to sit down for this one):
…*explodes* Look at that muscle. Lookit it! I need that cap from BUaBS of Dean's arm when Jo's cleaning his wound, does anyone have it? Can never have enough arm porn. *g*
So when I finally got up there to get my ticket stub signed – I didn’t take a booklet during the show because I’d already had one from the day before, but I’d left that at the hotel room like a dumbass – Jensen almost passes me up because everyone is holding up the playbooks and here I am with my one tiny, little ticket. But I kind of push my hand out a little and hope he sees it and he does, he’s all – ‘Oh!’ – and signs it and I couldn’t look directly at him you guys, he was *flaily arms* RIGHT THERE. It was like looking into the sun. But he signed my ticket and I thanked him and he just looked up at me and made eye contact and smiled and I just about DIED.
Heh. Could I be more of a twelve-year old?
And finally, my favorite picture –
Hee :D
And then the ten minutes were up – I was so glad I made it! – and the guys went back inside. Everyone thanked them very graciously and we were all on our best behavior (there was this one girl, kind of rude and loud to the other actors before Jen and Lou came out…but I won’t go there).
And that’s that! We left, I was on cloud fucking nine. We ate and drove back home.
The playbook:
Oh! One more thing, there was this:
We saw this at Barnes and Nobles and I had to take a picture – I immediately thought that Dean would so totally get Sam one of these babies, just for kicks. How CUTE would that be?
ETA: Oh god, how could I forget to talk about the Ol' South Pancake House LJ crew! You guys were awesome!!! I can't believe we crammed some 50 people into one room. I had a great time! Met shutyourface, ifyouweremine, floridapeaches, calicokat, dubiously, isisfrog and briefly had like one word in passing with _sin_attract, lol. Thanks to dahliablue for organizing the whole shindig! I know there were many others there, but these are the lj names I can remember. If we met each other and I left you out, please let me know.
Oh and Sat. matinee I saw mkitty3 and nuptse!! If only I hadn't been so shy ;_;
Whew! I hope you guys enjoy the report, it took me hours to write this darn thing up. :)
