rant/bitch/complain.... jobjobjob hunting
Hmm. I really need a new/different job. This restaurant business is whack, and I did some computing, and I'm only making 5.42 an hour, and I only work one day (Saturday) for twelve hours. That's $130 every two weeks. Whack, I say. I don't like working at the restuarant. It wasn't a job I wanted. My mom knows the owner so he let me work there. So I don't even have the small satisfaction of having gone after the job myself and landing it.
The ideal job? Right now I'm not asking/hoping for much. A job at Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. A job at Barnes&Nobles or Borders or even Half-Price Books. If I could write an editorial column for a magazine, or just get commissioned to write short stories/articles for an independent magazine, that would be so incredibly wonderful I would thank my lucky stars. I don't care if any of the above pay only slightly more than minimum wage - the point is, I'll be doing something I want to do. Heck, I'll even file papers. It's better than working at a restaurant/fast food place.
I'm going to start looking around.
eta: I just talked with mom (albeit very briefly since she snapped at me) and she is adamant about me not getting a "real" job where I'd have to pay taxes and get paid with checks until next year. Because then I'll be of age and social security will no longer send us money. If I got a job now, that money would be revoked.
