The Institute for Bioethics was founded to draw together faculty from across the University who shared research interests in bioethical issues. Research—empirical, conceptual, and philosophical—remains the core activity of the Institute.
Health Humanities
For the past two decades, the interdisciplinary field of the health humanities has been part of the portfolio of Institute activities.
Academic Programs
The Institute for Bioethics provides graduate-level education in bioethics in cooperation with several schools, including the the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences, Pitt Law, and the School of Medicine.
