I think this week i am going to try and remain in a positive mood as today is the 59th Anniversary of the Monteray Pop Festival 1967..i was 11 years old and probably did not even know that the festival was playing it'self at that time....i think i was more interested in playing football in the streets as in those days cars were minimal and watching the TV programme The Monkee's....which my father actually let me watch as he was not a big fan of American TV programmes...Bat Man was banned in our home....it was a further two years before i climbed into music heavily when i was bought a tiny red Transistor by family returning from Hong Kong from serving in the Hong Kong police force.....I used to play it when i went to bed hiding it under my pillow..BBC Radio One was just taking off across the land and that was only due to the Pirate Radio Stations playing pop music from Boats in the English Channel flooding England with Pop music at the time, and in Manchester you could just about pick them up on the airwaves...The BBC did not like it nor do i think Politicans of the day....i think they thought that constant pop music would ruin us Kids....

To All Whom Pass This Way Love And Peace Take Care So Goeth

The mini heat wave touching 80F...has now sunk beneath the pavement, i wonder was that because i thought will we have a Summer of 1976 once more when they almost ran out of Ice Ceam and Beer as road tarmac melted, and tranis wobbled as train tracks in England are not made to stand extreme summer heat.
So as Spring begins to sink in the gathering conker trees each year, i have this daft thought on the Summer of 76....wil once more flower over this small part of Cheshire..however sadly Peter Paul and Mary will whisper in my ear the song " Where Have All The Flowers Gone. " Though i should be grateful that the mini heat wave was over Whit Week especially Whit Friday when the brass bands march through certain towns villages in a competition for best band, and it was nice to sit in the Market Square in Hyde...and watch the bands pass me by, for some reason i always feel quite emotional over the live bands before me and i am glad that some of the younger generation have put their phones down and learnt to play trumpets etc....this year i even saw a fem marching playing the big drum in a band...i apoligise for i did giggle....
So I will still cross my fingers for a Summer of 1976...one never knows what is along the rocky road...does one...

To All Whom Pass This Way Love And Peace Take Care So Goeth...X

Today in Wembley England was F.A. Cup final day...i tried to think the last time i watched the cup final before it simply became money and is now no longer simply the F.A. Cup but possibly named after a certain faiths flying machines....Today i sat on a bus and a small boy climbed on board with his father as i was sat on the very front seat i watched the small boy pick his ticket and run up stairs, as his father passed i kindly asked how much his ticket..the reply was £1.00....and worth it was the reply...i recall spending under a £1.00 to watch the rock band Deep Purple in my youth and rocking to the song Smoke On The Water very much worth it..with a bus fare perhaps one Penny for small boys, for youths i cannot quite recall....
Today it has not stopped raining since lunch time, and as i watched the constant dribble my I-Pod fed me Whiskey In The Jar sung by Thin Lizzy, i had to look up the year...1972...i thought just how old am i with a childish Gosh...which means as darkness falls i need an Ice cream...to float down Whiskey in the Jar O...perhaps one of my fav's song from the 70's.

To All Whom Pass This Way Love And Peace Take Care So Goeth..X

I am safely back home...and have brought with me, screaming and kicking a touch of Cambridge Sunshine tied in a Waitrose shopping bag to be released amongst our cobbled streets, for i do not think it likes a touch of Up North's endless rain...and thus somehow i have to try and become normal once more, to kick a few rolling pop cans thrown in the gutters, stare at the mighty hoard of shopping trollys festooned in the River Mersey i wonder just how Gerry And The Pacemakers feel about their famous river treated such...and at least for the moment must be grateful that the dancing beat of Trump and Iran..has not nuked us and Easter Eggs are still on the shelflikes and the beaming smiles of petrol stations owners knowing that the petrol in their tanks has been there long before the shouting and screaming in the Middle East and how they giggle at taking the preverbal piss out of us by the price for petrol rises. Yes life indeed Up North....

To All Whom Pass This Way Love And Peace Take Care So Goeth..X

Tis but the last Sunday Eve of March so far we have not been nuked quite yet, i do not think i would be shocked if England was, what amazes me is all the money spent on rockets and bombs in the Middle East...and yet Charity letters pop through my letter box saying children are homeless and starving within that part of the world please send us a gift....this is not a new war, two faiths have been fighting for thousands of years and i doubt if it will ever be peaceful, they say one faith has murdered 330 Million folk down the centuries, which makes Hitler look like a penny clipper...i feel so sorry for young children in that mass of sand dreadnoughted into such faiths i wonder if they have a choice...i wonder if any say Fuck Off...thank goodness my own father did not believe in God...but liked a good pint of foaming mirth....sadly one of his favourite beers is no longer brewed in his town...Robinsons Best Bitter and Mild once brewed on Hillgate Stockport...has now moved....and sadly too, one of my special favourites when passing through Singapore, Tiger Beer..is no longer going to be brewed in Singapore..sadly the newish owners Heineken Beer are going to move the brewing to Malaya and Vietnam....Heinekin beer what an aweful tasteless spew, would not wash my socks in such a shite tasting beer....
Well lets hope April is going to be a better month perhaps we might have some warm sunshine in Stockport it badly needs a spot....and i will not have to eat Easter Eggs full of snow...As long as we do not become Nuked.

To All Whom Pass This Way Love And Peace Take Care So Goeth...X

I have once more made it through the crazy urban streets of a crazy week, drifted through the news stand front pages Gary Glitter not a happy bunny did love his music...and Iranian new year where they eat green grass, perhaps why Iran has not nuked us yet, apparently their rockets can now reach London. But you will not see this on the front pages of newspapers....this is the Mersey Mile....in Stockport.

I actually saw one sprayer yesterday in the art of spraying at the bottom end of the mile he seemed a cheerful chappie we chated for a good few minutes, not as mad as i thought, sadly the council do not sweep the street...must be too long for them..as they busy themselves posting out next years council tax, mine has arrived, but i shall not open until after Easter do not want to choke on my Easter Egg just incase i cannot afford one next year...but maybe i should not worry if Trumpington and his friends get us nuked....must make sure we have room under the stairs to hide just incase..as thats what we were told to do if the air raid sirens are sounded in the Cold War of the 1960's..i remember one siren being on top of the local Police station now and then they used to test it, frightening us all to death...Cor Blimey..we used to once say, before the F-word became more popular than Fish And Chips....

To All Whom Pass This Way Love And Peace Take Care So Goeth...X

Today the sun shone over this tiny village of Woodley Cheshire...marking the first day of Spring Equinox thus to celebrate such a Pagan day in England, i have had a taste of a sausage roll...later as i walked through a shopping precient falling from the ceiling was Procol Harum singing " Whiter Shade Of Pale " released in 1967..still a school boy, i just felt the song edge through me thinking wow life....thus as evening fell, a pause for a few glasses of white wine with a wonder where would we be today, if Muslims and Christians never walked Mother Earth...and if Queen Boudica had won her chariot race...would we even have a sausage roll.

To All Whom Pass This Way Love And Peace Take Care So Goeth...X

If one believes the head lines on the newspaper stands today...about the antics of the Trumpington brigade whom if continues to throw mud pies around the world...us the baby boomers will be paying almost £10.00 for a gallon of petrol shortly, further down the front page was a warming to buy thick wool jumpers for us baby boomers will not be able to afford heating our homes next Winter unless we are CEO's on hundred thousand plus pound wages a year..i wonder what CEO.s think when they pull off there socks at night. I wonder just how many baby boomers are in a grumpy sort of mood...when one thinks we used to buy 10 pints of foaming mirth for one single pound....i recall reading a good few years ago that a famous French man writer or poet..was quoted as saying if all the pubs in England were lost..England would no longer exsist....
This was once the Three Pigeons Pub i passed in Macclesfield Cheshire the other week been long closed since 2005, perhaps it was a coaching house when first opened....sadly this is the story in most towns and cities in England now could one blame the price of a pint of ale or the internet life or the fact that the coming generations after the baby boomers could not quite take bitter ale and have grown into the sweet beers of Europe i sat last saturday in a pub in Stockport Cheshire not one English ale on tap, all Euro Sweet Sap...i think..i should turn on the BBC news am now into my third month of staying away from the BBC..perhaps i would be less grumpy if so....

To All Whom Pass This Way Love And Peace Take Care So Goeth...X
