Welcome to the 2013 Bones Fanfic Secret Santa!!!This will be the third year I'm doing Bones Fanfic Secret Santa, and in
2011 and
2012, there was a success with 25 fanfics each year, hopefully we will be able to get more this year.
Please,
read the rules carefully, as they might have changed from the previous years.
Seasonal gift fic exchange rules:
1. Each of you writes a Wish List for a piece of fanfic consisting of four sets of specifications.
The first three sets -- your alternative wish lists -- outline what you'd love to receive, the fourth set what you'd love to give; in the latter, I will make sure you don't end up with what you absolutely don't wish for, but I cannot guarantee all of your favorites -- it helps if you give several alternatives of things you'd write. (Don't be afraid to be specific with all of these, beyond the genre!) I will then mix and match you.
2. It's All About Bones fanfiction, rather unsurprisingly -- 1500 words minimum, anything above would, of course, be great -- if you absolutely can't write more than 1000 (nothing less, please), that's fine: make a note of it in your sign-up. In turn, if you as a recipient are perfectly fine with receiving anything starting at a kick-ass triple drabble consisting of 300 words, jot that down as well!
3. You as a writer are free to provide a friendship story rather than relationship story. Extra care should be taken to avoid the elements your recipient explicitly doesn't desire, of course.
4. Please, only sign up if you are serious about this. The last two years I had people sign up and end up not writing and leaving people without their Secret Santas, Thank God I was able to find someone to fill in. I'm giving enough time for everyone to write, if you sign up and you realize you can't write or won't write, please send me an email letting me know so I can try to find someone to fill in for you. I don't want to leave anyone without their Secret Santa.
5. Also, please reply to my emails or tweets or whatever you prefer I use. It's important for when I need to get in contact with you for questions from your Secret Santa.
Communication is very important.6. Sign-Up starts today and will close on Sunday,
October 20th 2013 - you will receive your assignment within 15 days after that. Your Gift is due
January 6th 2014, but you are free to post it any time between
December 6th, 2013 and January 6th, 2014. This will give you more than 2 months to write your assignment.
7. Anyone can enter, even if you do not have a Livejournal account. Fanfics are to be posted over at fanfiction.net or here at livejournal.
Once you have posted your fic, please send me an email with a link to your story, so I can pass it to the recipient.
