How Stem Cell Therapy Works

Your journey, coordinated.

A clear four-step pathway from first consultation through to infusion at a partner clinic. We coordinate; the treatment itself is performed by licensed specialists at our accredited partner clinics.

  1. 01
Step 1: Initial consultation with the Beyond Hundred coordination team

    Initial consultation

Our team listens to your situation and walks you through the protocols offered by our partner clinics.

  2. 02
Step 2: Specialist review at the partner clinic

    Specialist review & protocol approval

A licensed physician at the partner clinic reviews your bloodwork and history, confirms suitability, and approves the cell quantity and protocol tailored to your case.

  3. 03
Step 3: Cell harvest and GMP-lab cultivation at the partner clinic

    Cell harvest & cultivation

A small sample of fat tissue is collected through a quick, minimally invasive procedure at the clinic. From there, your mesenchymal stem cells are carefully grown and multiplied in a high-standard, certified laboratory over several weeks until they reach their optimal therapeutic count.

  4. 04
Step 4: Stem cell infusion at the partner clinic

    Stem cell infusion

Once the lab confirms your cells are healthy and have reached the target count, a licensed doctor administers them through a standard IV drip. If you are using donor cells, the entire process is completed in a single day.

FAQ

Get answers to common questions about Stem cell therapy and our services

Stem cells are the body's natural 'repair kit'. They possess the unique ability to regenerate damaged tissues, modulate the immune system, and reduce systemic inflammation. As we age, our natural reservoir of functional stem cells gradually depletes, contributing to the onset of degenerative diseases, organ decline, and general frailty.

To put numbers on it: at birth, roughly 1 in 10,000 of your mesenchymal-cell pool is a functional stem cell. By age 80, that frequency has declined by orders of magnitude — to roughly 1 in 1–2 million. The regenerative pool collapses across a lifetime. (Stolzing et al., 2008)

Stem cell decline · birth → age 80
Frequency
Birth~1 : 10,000 Age 25~1 : 100,000 Age 50~1 : 400,000 Age 80~1 : 2,000,000

By replenishing these cells, you are essentially investing in your body's regenerative capacity. Our clients typically seek this therapy to:

  • Optimise Longevity: Slowing the biological markers of ageing.
  • Systemic Repair: Addressing 'wear and tear' before it manifests as a chronic issue.
  • Vitality: Enhancing physical recovery, mental clarity, and overall energy levels.

The potential benefits described reflect current clinical research and reported client experiences. Individual outcomes vary and no specific results can be guaranteed. This does not constitute medical advice.

Generally, Stem Cell Therapy is most appropriate for individuals aged 30 and above who wish to proactively manage their health.

There are, however, a small number of contraindications to be aware of:

  • Cancer History: For those with a history of malignancy, we require a minimum of five years in full remission to ensure patient safety.
  • Pregnancy: Whilst not eligible during pregnancy, many women find post-childbirth an excellent time to explore therapy for recovery and hormonal rebalancing.
  • Screening: All candidates undergo a rigorous screening process. Certain active infections or STIs may preclude admission to the programme to ensure the highest treatment efficacy.

Not at all. In regenerative medicine, prevention is the most effective cure. Undergoing therapy whilst you are still youthful and healthy allows the Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) to focus on maintaining 'peak' cellular function rather than merely repairing existing damage. It is about extending your 'healthspan': the number of years you live in optimal physical condition.

The concept of preventive regenerative therapy is supported by emerging research, but individual responses vary. Consult a qualified physician before undergoing any treatment.

Singapore's Health Sciences Authority (HSA) classifies stem cell therapies under the Health Products Act as Cell, Tissue and Gene Therapy Products — subject to the same approval standards as pharmaceutical drugs. A commercial product licence requires demonstrating safety and efficacy through large-scale, multi-site randomised controlled trials. This is the same bar held by the US FDA and the European EMA, which is why MSC therapies remain largely in clinical trial phases across most regulated markets.

What separates Japan and Malaysia is not lower standards — it is regulatory architecture. Japan's 2014 Act on the Safety of Regenerative Medicine introduced a conditional approval pathway, permitting supervised commercial use alongside post-market data collection. Malaysia operates a comparable biologics licensing framework for allogeneic cell therapies under its NPRA. Singapore has not yet introduced an equivalent provisional route, which means accessing MSC therapy currently requires travelling to jurisdictions where this framework exists.

Beyond general wellness, clinical research has shown significant promise in using MSCs to improve or manage the following:

Metabolic & Vascular
Type II diabetes · Arteriosclerosis · Diabetic foot ulcers
Musculoskeletal
Knee & hip osteoarthritis · Degenerative disc disease
Neurological
Post-stroke recovery · Spinal cord injury
Autoimmune & Skin
Psoriasis · Lupus · Periodontal disease
Aesthetics
Hair regrowth · Full-body skin regeneration

Please note that while clinical research has shown promise across these areas, stem cell therapy does not guarantee specific outcomes. Individual results vary depending on age, health status, and condition severity. Beyond Hundred does not make any medical claims on behalf of our partner clinics.

Regeneration is a biological process, not a chemical instant fix. The timeline generally unfolds in three stages:

  • Month 1 — Initial improvements. A noticeable reduction in systemic inflammation. Minor aches and pains often begin to subside.
  • Months 3–6 — Repair phase peak. Organ function improvement and tissue regeneration peak. A follow-up screening at the six-month mark documents these improvements.
  • Long-term — Gradual transformation. Cellular slowing begins immediately, but the visible effect on energy, recovery, and biological-age markers is gradual — most apparent over several years.

For stroke patients, timing is critical. Clinical data suggests a 'Golden Window' within the first 90 days post-stroke. During this period, the brain's neuroplasticity is at its highest. Introducing stem cells during this window significantly enhances the likelihood of regaining motor functions and potential for significant functional recovery.

Stroke recovery · the golden window
Effectiveness
← Peak neuroplasticity
Day 0 Day 90 Day 180+
Golden Window · 0–90 days
Declining effectiveness · 90+ days
Within the Golden Window
Highest likelihood of regaining motor function and daily independence.
After 90 days
Effectiveness gradually decreases as neuroplasticity declines.

Please note that acting within the golden window improves the likelihood of recovery but does not guarantee specific outcomes. Individual responses to stem cell therapy vary and results cannot be predicted. This information is for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice.

As we age, our body's natural regenerative pace slows. To maintain peak cellular function and offset the biological markers of ageing, here are some general guidelines based on your age group:

AGE
25-50
Ages 25 to 50
Once every 5 years
50-70
Ages 50 to 70
Once every 4 years
70-80
Ages 70 to 80
Once every 2-3 years
80+
Above 80
Once annually

Frequency guidelines are based on general clinical practice. Your treating physician will advise on the appropriate schedule based on your individual health profile.

The procedure depends on the source of the stem cells. Beyond Hundred facilitates two primary pathways:

Post-procedure guidelines are general recommendations. Your treating physician will provide personalised aftercare instructions specific to your procedure.

Stem cell therapy is exceptionally safe when conducted by licensed, reputable clinics adhering to international standards. We advocate for total transparency on the risks that do exist:

  • Licensing & hygiene. Risks arise primarily from unlicensed clinics. Our partners are government-approved and adhere to hospital-grade sterile protocols.
  • Mesenchymal stability. We exclusively use Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs). Unlike embryonic cells, MSCs are highly stable and do not carry a high risk of tumour formation (teratomas).
  • Immune compatibility. In allogeneic (donor) therapy, there is a minor risk of the body's immune system reacting to the foreign material. Our clinics use advanced purification techniques to minimise this.
  • Cell viability & thrombosis. If cells are handled incorrectly during the thawing process, non-viable (dead) cells can enter the bloodstream. Our partners are cryogenic specialists who ensure only live, potent cells are administered to avoid complications such as irregular heartbeats.

While MSC-based therapy has a well-established safety profile in peer-reviewed literature, no medical procedure is entirely without risk. The treating physician will assess your individual suitability and discuss all risks prior to treatment.

Base pricing varies by pathway. Final cost is determined by the number of cells your doctor approves for infusion.
