Not sure what I'm thinking here - Mélanie as a cop assigned to a brutal serial killer case and Daniel turns out to be a figment of her imagination/ghost that was murdered by the killer? This represents the confrontation scene where they say goodbye.

A Cruel Intentions type of plot perhaps?

A German Night in Paris
This is a fictional movie idea starring August Diehl, Mélanie Laurent and Daniel Brühl. The story is not completely mapped out, so use your imagination to fill in the gaps. The idea is this a alternative universe with 'sideways' realities (if you are watching the current season of Lost, the plot is like this). I wanted to make it a Sliding Doors type of movie.

This is a completely fictional idea of a movie starring Daniel Brühl, August Diehl, Mélanie Laurent and Léa Seydoux.

From this picture, ghostsinthehall created this story:

MOVIE IDEA THE MILLIONTH: So Melanie Laurent is an international jewel/priceless art thief ala Sean Connery in the Entrapment, but hotter and way more inconspicuous, Daniel Bruhl the once rookie detective that has been on her tail since day fucking one. They have never met face to face because well, you can imagine what would aspire when they did and they don’t know what the other looks like except by name(/reputation) and for Daniel, a few dodgy long lens photos that only get Melanie from the back and she’s wearing a different wig each time so yeah, those are useless. SO THEY MEET AND THE FOLLOWING OCCURS:

They get raging drunk.

They have lots of raging sex.

They still have no clue who they just got raging drunk and had lots of sex with UNTIL Daniel goes to like take a shower because he needs to cool down obvs and Melanie the thief she is contemplates grabbing his wallet, but OH WAIT, what does she find instead of oodles of money, the name of the detective that has been looking for her for about four some odd years.

NOW PAN TO DANIEL IN THE SHOWER. He gets out, towel and all, and Daniel the detective he is starts padding around Mel Mel’s apartment out of sheer curiousity and what does he fiiiiind, but A BLOODY MONET hanging in the back of her walk-in closet and then just for the heck of it, a couple Renoirs too.

GO BACK TO MELANIE. She is hyperventilating just a little and trying to find her bra to no avail.

RETURN TO DANIEL. He is hyperventilating just a little and trying to find his handcuffs also contemplating using bed sheets as rope as a last resort.

NOW A SPLIT SCREEN OF BOTH OF THEM LOOKING LIKE THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN ABRUPT AND UNEXPECTED END.

SCREEN GOES BLACK. The words: TO BE CONTINUED in theatres everywhere June 2012 scroll across all marquee like in white.

Tentatively titled SHIT JUST GOT SO REAAAAL.

Of course, August and Léa had to be added into the mix of things, so lets pretend these are the promotion pictures

So our story begins...

Secret agent Matthiew (Daniel Brühl) has been researching Chloe (art thief) since the beginning of his career. She has eluded capture thanks to her disguises, brilliance and charm. They both know of each other because he has come close many times and she leaves little notes for him as her signature.

They meet at a party and the attraction is instantaneous. Add in a bit of alcohol and they have ragging sex. The next day they find out the truth.

It is not a game anymore…

The next day, Matthiew finds out from fellow secret agent Hannah (Léa Seydoux) secret agent that he is overseeing the security of the grand art exhibit opening. This opening is also the next target for Chloe and her partner in crime, Erik (August Diehl). There is a growing attraction between the secret agents and increasing sexual tension between the thieves. Still, that one steamy night haunts the minds and hearts of Matthieu and Chloe.

Matthiew figures out that Erik is Chloe's partner which leads to an intense confrontation between both men.

As Erik begins to research on Matthieu and the other secret agents assign to track him and Chloe, he is shocked to find that Hannah is a secret agent because she was his sweetheart back in the day.

As Matthieu and Hannah begin to spend more time together planning for the art exhibit security, their chemistry for one another does not go unnoticed.

Erik and Chloe meet up to strategize and exchange notes. Their playful banter and flirtatious looks are ever present until Erik discloses his recent confrontation with Daniel. Erik reveals to Chloe that Matthieu's partner is Hannah, which Chloe knows is his long lost love. Erik and Chloe have a code that either they are both in the heist or neither one is. With this new information, they are both troubled and uncertain as to how to proceed.

Matthieu and Chloe still dreams about their intense night together and can't get it out of their heads. They arrange to meet and when they finally sit down face to face, the chemistry and attraction is still there.

Will do the heist continue? Fade to black...
