Hello f-list!
I'm still trying to get back into the swing of eljay and thought that since half my calendar this week is marked up with tv shows I'd write a few thoughts and reviews.

Castle - Mondays at 10/9c on ABC
Season 3 ended with a bang, literally. Did anyone actually think Kate was going to die though?
That being said with the beginning of season 4 they had a lot of things to follow up on and only 42ish minutes to do it. They did a decent job though the murder they solve in this episode was definitely overshadowed by other things.
If you're not already watching Castle I won't spoil it for you but this show is worth watching. It's the only show I've ever gotten invested in that I don't worry about what the powers that be are going to do. I have complete faith that they know what they're doing and that it will all turn out in good time.

Season 4 premiere: A+

Glee - Tuesdays at 8/7c on FOX
Like a moth drawn to flame or when you slow down to check out an accident on the side of the road I just can't quit this show. I don't care about the characters, their relationships, or who's popular at the moment. Half the time I don't even like the songs they sing and the other half of the time I think they're awesome.

Season 3 premiere: B Make me care again please.

Body of Proof - Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC
We get it. Dana Delany is hot for a single woman of 55. Is the whole season going to be beating us over the head with her sexuality? All of a sudden Peter is a player. (Of course I'm not bitter just because some of my Megan/Peter fantasies have been dashed.) I'm merely concerned with the direction many things are going. Like that the autopsy Megan performed was 1/10 of the episode. Less than that really.

Season 2 premiere: B+ There's room for improvement, see me after class.

Unforgettable - Tuesdays at 10/9c on CBS (yes the same time as Body of Proof. Watch one and dvr the other.)
Unforgettable is a new show this fall starring Poppy Montgomery as Carrie Wells and Dylan Walsh as Al Burns. There are some other people but I'm not sure which ones I'm supposed to care about yet. Carrie Wells suffers from a condition known as hyperthymesia which allows her to remember everything. Hence the title. As you can imagine this ability would come in handy working as a detective.
Some reviews suggested that Unforgettable was forgettable. I would encourage everyone to give it a chance. Do I see this show lasting a long time? Not really. Do I see potential? Most definitely.

Series premiere: B+ Could use some polishing.

Revenge - Wednesdays at 10/9c on ABC
This new series starring Emily VanCamp, of Everwood fame, is a modern day retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo. VanCamp's character is integrating herself into the Hampton's circle of elite to get revenge on the people who killed her father and ruined her family.
I feel like this show is going to be really great but I wonder how long it can last. Realistically there can't be that many people for her to exact her revenge on right?
For those who might be interested it's my understanding that Max Martini will be playing a recurring role.

Ever since the Lie to Me news I just couldn't look at anything but for some reason I went back to twitter and tumblr but not eljay. Plus eljay seems to be under siege half the time anyway.

Hooooowever xfirefly9x poked me (weeksssss ago) so instead of posting this on tumblr it will go on here.

I'm 5'3" and a half and I weigh 110 pounds the last time I checked.
I don't weigh myself every day. I don't diet. I don't obsess over "eating right." I eat when I'm hungry and I stop when I'm full. I actually read an article once about how skinnier people don't have food guilt; meaning, I don't feel guilty leaving food uneaten and when I'm full I stop. I don't like the feeling of having over eaten.

Why am I even talking about this? I was in a wedding. One of my best friends got married and asked me to be a bridesmaid. The bridesmaid dress was a strapless, floor length dress from David's Bridal and to everyones glee it looked good on every bridesmaid, not just a few of us.
Even though I wasn't the shortest bridesmaid I did have the smallest size dress. One of my other best friends was also a bridesmaid. She's at least a few inches taller than me and is on a swim team and rides horses every weekend; let's just say she definitely has more muscle mass than me and yet when she heard my dress size it upset her. She didn't say anything to me but our moms talk and my mom let me know.
All I wanted to do was hug her and tell her that she is so beautiful and perfect just the way she is but not wanting to embarrass her I didn't say anything.

Fast forward to the wedding (I make sure my insecure friend knows that she looks absolutely gorgeous) I know the girl taking photos but haven't seen her in a while and so during the reception she says, "Yeah I haven't seen you in a while, you've lost weight." I looked at her like she was crazy and quickly told her that it must just be the dress or something because I haven't.
Then the next day someone else who was at the wedding tells me that I'm too skinny and I should eat more.

Unless you are seriously concerned for my health, just keep it to yourself or tell me in private, not where anyone can hear you.

I'm not sure where I was going with this rant but suffice to say people come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and you should never compare yourself to someone else. Just be the best you, you can be.

I'm not sure why I saved this in a document as 'cal kiiyp' I'm sure I was building up to that.

The thing with Cal is that he's the ~lone ranger~ but way less noble. Even though he has a whole staff of people, he doesn't really think he needs them. He's always going to find a way to bring it back to him. So when someone else helped him it was really his doing (he taught them, he steered them in the right direction, etc)
His default is to go off and do his own thing to save the day. He likes being the hero. He likes being able to take all the glory.

What I want to see happen is for him to go off thinking he's got a situation handled only to realize there's no way he'll get out without help and that the ~only~ way help will come is if he asks and really means it.

Headlock for me doesn't count. It was close but not quite there.

Horses and Hawks concert

So a few weeks ago I got the opportunity to see The Brendan Hines and Kristen Toedtman perform in Portland. Together they called it the Horses and Hawks tour. (there were other people performing with them but they weren't people who went on the whole tour, they were just in Portland)

It was at a bar called The Woods and having never been in a bar or a proper concert I convinced a friend to come with me. A few hours before the concert photonsbefree saw me mention it and she got to come and brought a friend. All 4 of us were nOobs who weren't going to drink so it was definitely an experience.

The doors opened at 8 and being the paranoid person I am I got there at like 8:01 and grabbed a table right up front then sat around awkwardly until 9 when it started.

Once the show started I just sat back and enjoyed. For the first couple songs Brendan played guitar and harmonica at the same time and sang while not playing the harmonica. I was suitably impressed. Keeping up the rhythm on guitar and playing harmonica is like rubbing your stomach and patting your head x 10 difficulty.
During an awkward pause while instruments were being shuffled around Kristen Toedtman told Brendan to talk to the audience. He asked us to name a Star Trek movie that he could monologue on. Someone yelled First Contact (for the non trekkies that's a newer film with the Next Gen crew) that was not acceptable to him so I yelled Wrath of Kahn (Star Trek 2 with the original series crew aka Bill Shatner) that was more like it and he started a mini rant about how the whole 2,3,4 trilogy was so amazing. Kristen made a comment to the effect, 'They must not be that big a fan if it took them that long to come up with Wrath of Kahn'.
The concert went on, there was a cover of a Justin Bieber song (it actually looked kind of painful for Brendan to participate in.)

Now the really exciting part, my friends and I met Brendan Hines.
We almost just left without going up to him but I figured this was my chance so we all went up to the stage, told him we really enjoyed the show. I happen to always have a Star Trek comm badge on my jacket so I set the record straight that I really am a Star Trek fan I just was shy about yelling out a movie. (I also have a Starfleet Academy keychain which he thought was awesome) He again told us how awesome that 2,3,4 trilogy is and that on the drive up from Cali he had been educating his band mates on Star Trek. I then transitioned into "I follow you on twitter, we're Lie to Me fans." I also asked him if he had received the #teamkelli card I sent for him. Then there was talk of how awesome Kelli is (Kristen knows her too, apparently Kelli gave her a beautiful necklace for her birthday) I showed him my card in case he had seen his card and forgot and we figured out who was supposed to give it to him so he could ask around for it.
Ummm important to know, he has very soft hands. (warm too but that was probably from playing guitar)

So there you have it. I'm sure I forgot things but it was a really lovely night and I'm glad I went. =)

I have no desire to see Fringe fail but,

seeing it move to Fridays, get the back 9, get a TON of attention for their time-slot move and then do well in the ratings?

Kind of makes me sick.

Yes, Kevin Reilly I know you like Fringe but, if more people knew Lie to Me was on more people would watch it. That's no ones fault but the network who always decides that airing the same American Idol commercial or ad for Glee 5 times in one night is better than advertising a variety of shows.

Why must my mother be so bipolar?

When I wanted to go to OSU, a really good school with a really good graphic design program that is far enough away that I would have to live there, all I heard was, "I don't want you so far away." "Are you sure that's really where you want to go?" "Well, we'll see, you might change your mind."

Now I've applied to PSU, still a good school with a good graphic design program that isn't very far away but I still want to live there and all I hear is, "Are you sure you want to go there?" "I understand you want to move out but I don't think that's the best idea."

and here's the real kicker

"Maybe you should go to OSU, I think the atmosphere would be better."

Are you freakin' kidding me?

Let me get this straight, you now want me to go to OSU which would require moving to Corvallis but, if I go to PSU where I want to go and would want to move out then you would want me to stay at home?

Woman make up your mind or quit sharing your opinion. ugh and you wonder why I want to move out?

Wanted to hang out with a friend today, get some food and watch a movie or whatever. She told me this morning she was busy and we would have to do it another time. So, I went and ran my errands alone instead of with her.

Tomorrow after church I'm planning on seeing other friends. One of whom notoriously can't do things because her parents never let her.
My family was eating dinner, I had already eaten, and I'm telling my mom that I might be busy after church. She knows my friends track record of not being able to do things and feels the need to point that out, more than once. "Don't get your hopes up Kelsey." Like I don't know that? I'm the one who makes plans with her all the time only to have them canceled at the last minute. I have to have a little bit of hope otherwise we would never try and make plans at all.

So thanks for rubbing some salt in the wound mom and thanks for yelling at me dad that was also really appreciated.

oh and now I just want to get out of the house but there's no where to go. fml

If you're on twitter for any length of time you've probably noticed that @FOXBroadcasting rarely tweets about Lie to Me.
In fact excluding something they RTed the other day they hadn't mentioned it since October 18th. OCTOBER 18TH. This is really unacceptable as they tweet about all their other shows.

The plan:
Get FOX's attention.

my mom keeps accusing me of being depressed and maybe I am a little but I think I deserve to.

First of all, I think everyone is at least a little depressed. No one has a perfect life and can say they never have anything to be sad or depressed over something. No one.

Personally I feel like if I weren't depressed then my mom should worry.

First my brother dies. Unexpectedly. with no chance to say goodbye or anything. He was 14, I was 16 and for a little while my parents were so distraught that I had to step up and help them.
After that, of course, all my friends payed more attention to me, invited me to things, talked to me more often. But after a year it was like they were done helping me get over my brother. A few of them didn't pull away but the majority did. I don't blame them, life goes on and people go their separate ways.

Now all but two of my friends are either away at college, near or far doesn't matter because they're busy and have made new friends and relationships that I'm not a part of, or they're working full time and in the case of my best friend working and living waaaaay too far away to see her that often.
The two friends that don't fall into those categories I only see once a week usually. We might talk a little during the week but they have lots of other things going on and don't have that much time to keep up with everyone. Which I understand.

So I'm brother-less, for all intents and purposes friend-less, in the awkward years where my parents can't tell me what to do exactly but I still live under their roof, looking for a full time job which feels impossible, and wanting to go to school but not having the drive to do it (which is probably the slight depression getting to me)
Oh yeah, I also told the guy who liked me and wanted to date me that I don't like him that way and now still have to see him every week.

Sometimes I just can't take it anymore. I don't want to snap at people or I feel like punching something so, I hole up in my room and watch tv shows or read fanfiction and try and forget about all the crap.

thoughts? concerns? whatever.

It's that time again! Season 2 is officially over and we have a little bit of a wait for season 3. How ever will you pass the time?
BY REWATCHING SEASON 2 OF COURSE

If you're new to the #ltmrewatch scene, here's how it goes down. Every Sunday from now until season 3 starts we will gather via internet, en masse, to watch not one but TWO episodes of Lie to me*. Basically your calendar should look like this-

See in order for this to be fun we sort of all have to start watching at the same time. As you will soon discover, timezones are the bane of our fandom existence.

So Lightman was written more aggressively,, but that's not what we ended up seeing... interesting.

SCENE ORDER! In the episode, we had a) the Lightman/Foster/Burns/Lane scene in which Burns admits knowing that Marly was pregnant, b) the scene with L/F/B/L in which they argue and Lane finally agrees to show them ONE tape, and then c) the scene with Ria/Ava in which Ava realizes that the egg has been stolen. The scenes were originally written as a) Burns admits knowing about pregnancy, b) Ria/Ava, and then c) Lane says that they'll release a tape. I don't think that it makes that much of a difference, but eh.

Why do I mention this? In the episode, there was that weird Children of the Corn moment, but Foster and Burns weren't there; a few seconds later, there was a separate shot of the two of them walking in together. I NOTICE THESE THINGS. Just sayin'.

Since we don't know when Exposed will air it's not on the top list but it's the episode they had reshoots for so I don't know if that will delay it more or what.

First of all. Now that we've seen Delinquent, Sweet Sixteen and Bullet Bump I have to say my brain cannot compute that those 3 should have been all together. Can you imagine what it would have been like if the episodes aired in the correct order?!?!?!
It's weird to think that Gill was presumably dating Burns during Sweet Sixteen and Bullet Bump.
