Granted, NATO has been spectacularly absent as the USA and Israel whittle down the chances that Iran will destroy Israel in the immediate future;

The failure of NATO to come to the aid of America and Israel speaks volumes about European's lack of values and their fear of Islamic terrorism in Europe (since their Open Borders policy destroyed western Europe and the shared values we once had)..

We should have quit NATO when the only reason for its existence (the USSR) disappeared.

Excellent comment. I read today that Trump is backing away from securing the Strait alone. Let those fake allies suffer the consequences of their own inaction. They are all paper tigers.

My only worry is that the media will compare Trump's actions to Afghanistan and Vietnam. The foreign press will pick up the story. Columbia University will have an epidemic of keffiyehs, and the entire world will unite against Israel and the US.

Valid points, and I think that has already started. It may be contained with military success and Iran resorting to attacking civilian targets and the public hanging of demonstrators. They are looking pretty desperate at this point.

It's all about supply-and-demand. If, in fact, Iran no longer has the factories to build new missiles, the war is, essentially, all over. Trump promised that "his" war would be over in four or five weeks. I wish we could have live cameras over the strait of Hormuz and the extermination of Iran's troops Saturday night.

That is one of the dangers of having a lopsided defense posture. You are correct in your comment. I heard they used the warthog to eliminate them. That weapon has been useful and lethal for decades.

I saw the Warthog in action at an air show about 20 years ago. What an awesome airplane.

Oh yes, a fearsome weapon.
