The GIS & Mapping Community of Practice is an informal meetup that offers participants an opportunity to get to know other people using mapping tools and techniques across campus, regardless of discipline. For this session we'll be getting ready for wrapping up end-of-semester projects and getting prepped for summer field season with a discussion about data management best practices with experts from the campus Research Data Management program. Stop by to learn general tips and tricks, and get personalized feedback on your own project!

We'll start with a round of introductions and discussion, followed by open work-time. Coffee and tea provided :)

Drop by anytime during the session to meet other students, faculty, researchers, and staff exploring mapping, GIS, and remote sensing. This is an informal, low-stakes space to talk through problems you've been wrestling with, questions about getting started, and learning about different methods and approaches. Together we will build a supportive community for people at all stages of their mapping and GIS journey. Whether you're just getting started exploring GIS & Mapping or a seasoned pro (or anywhere in between!), all are welcome to participate in the GIS & Mapping Community of Practice.
