The GIS & Mapping Community of Practice is an informal meetup that offers participants an opportunity to get to know other people using mapping tools and techniques across campus, regardless of discipline. For this session we'll be focusing the first hour on a discussion of AI (it's everywhere!): how are you using it now in your geospatial work, and what worries or excitement do you have about AI in GIS & mapping? We'll start with a round of introductions and discussion, followed by open work-time. Coffee and tea provided :)

Stop by anytime during the session to meet other students, faculty, researchers, and staff exploring mapping, GIS, and remote sensing. This is an informal, low-stakes space to talk through problems you've been wrestling with, questions about getting started, and learning about different methods and approaches. Together we will build a supportive community for people at all stages of their mapping and GIS journey. Whether you're just getting started exploring GIS & Mapping or a seasoned pro (or anywhere in between!), all are welcome to participate in the GIS & Mapping Community of Practice.
