Hi, I am Karim Benharrak!

I design, develop, and evaluate interactive systems to explore the collaborative potential of Human-AI interaction in creative workflows.

I’m a Ph.D. Student in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley, where I am advised by Amy Pavel. I am also a part-time research intern at Adobe Research where I work with Zeyu Jin on agentic audio editing.

Previously, I spent 2 years of my Ph.D. (Fall 2023 - Fall 2025) in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas at Austin. I was also a visiting researcher at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University where I was advised by David Lindlbauer and Dominik Moritz. I received my B.Sc. in Computer Science at University of Bayreuth where I studied “AI for better UIs” and “better UIs for AI” together with Daniel Buschek as part of the Research Group on HCI + AI.
