After one week, I had to check up on Minou to see how he was getting on.

When I entered the house and called his name he perked up, flopped on the carpet, and stretched out on his back which I think means he was pleased and surprised to see me.

We did the usual things: hugs, treats, brushing, string games. I presented him with a new sheepskin bed. He approved.

He showed me around the new place and jumped from here to there and nosed the screen door to go out.

It was SO HOT outside we sat in the shade for awhile. He ate some impatiens and watched the birds.

He is doing very well. I can tell he has settled in nicely. Aunt L gives him lots of affection and attention. She says he has taken over uncle P’s recliner chair by the garden door.

I am confident we did the right thing by letting him move out. He is visibly happier not to have other cats in his territory. I miss him still but it is easier now to let him go.
