Woo! Finally getting this video up! A bit of advice... Windows Movie Maker does NOT like having to edit a four hour video down to a 9 minute speed art video. So if you're recording an art live stream, cut that video down. Take a break after 2 hours or something. XP

Me thinks it's time to get my hands on a copy of Adobe Premiere. And update my graphics card... and stuff.

But rent and bills, ya know. So I'll keep chugging away at the store jobs and working on freelance commissioned work when I'm not there. And, of course, continue making videos.

Not sure what this sleep thing is anymore... or free time. XP

Next stage of the Kyota and Zurui commission.

MARKER PAINTING! Well, technically mixed media, as I also use colored pencils and white gel pen, and possibly soon acrylic paints for fireworks and all that jazz.

A commissioned order for DJ Kyota and his mate, Zurui. Their fursonas, Kyota (laying down), and Zurui (sitting up) on the roof of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, in Pittsburg, PA (USA), watching a beautiful fireworks display (to be added in the final paints).

My weapons of choice here?

~Prismacolor markers
~Copic sketch markers
~Derwent colored pencils
~Lowe Cornell colored pencils
~white gel pen

Cool bit of news I discovered while working on this? Prismacolor and Copic markers work BEAUTIFULLY on inks printed from an HP printer that uses HP Vivera inks. No bleeding, so shmears... SUCH A TIME AND MONEY SAVER! I will no longer have to run to Staples to have the Copy Center peeps print my digital inks or digitally cleaned traditional inks onto card stock via their dry ink copy machines.

Now to see if this works with watercolors and Dr. Martin PH dyes.

Again, the pencils were done all in ArtRage Studio, then non-repro blued in Adobe Photoshop CS3, and printed onto 11 x 8.5 inch cardstock. Inks done with Speedball Super Black india ink and brush.

Next stage of the Kyota and Zurui commission.

INKS!

A commissioned order for DJ Kyota and his mate, Zurui. Their fursonas, Kyota (laying down), and Zurui (sitting up) on the roof of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, in Pittsburg, PA (USA), watching a beautiful fireworks display (to be added in the final paints).

My weapons of choice here?

~Speedball Super Black india ink
~Raphael Kolinsky sable hair number 2 round
~2 inking pen nibs (41 and 102)
~white craft acrylic paint
~a spare old brush that I use strictly for blocking out ink boo boos with the white acrylic
~various french curves
~giant artist triangle

23K Gold Leafing Arrived from Golden Leaf Products

So my 23K gold leafing mini-bundle from Golden Leaf Products ( http://www.goldenleafproducts.com ) arrived in the mail today! Yay!

I wanted to be able to use a loose leaf gold leafing that had actual gold in it, not the cheap stuff sold at most big box arts and crafts stores that's 90% copper and 10% zinc. Just a touch picky about what I use on my pieces, and when I say that it's gold leaf that's on the horn of my BerryBerry Qulin custom resculpt, it can be the truth, which SHOULD help up the value of her.

Just have to pick up a bottle of shift at work this week with my employee discount and a coupon. Shift is the adhesive used in leafing. Until I can pick it up, though, I'm going to study the daylights out of more leafing tutorials here on YT. And make sure that my fan brush is SUPER clean.

Mod Podge, not recommended

Finally! I've finally found artists online who agree with what I've been saying for a while about Mod Podge. The only good Mod Podge I've come across is the Dimensional Magic. All else is just thinned down Elmers Glue that WILL stay sticky, and you'd have to seal that with an artists medium ANYWAY to take away the stickiness.

Gals and guys, do yourself a favor, especially if you live in an area that's known for it's humidity, steer clear of Mod Podge, and just go with an artists medium or a water based polyurethane sealer.

Go down the aisle in your local Michaels where the craft acrylic paints are ( look for Folkart, Apple Barrel, Americana, and Craft Smart ), and you'll find the water based poly sealers there.

Hell, if you hit up the Mt. Olive NJ Michaels, Sunday through Tuesday after 5pm, I'LL help you find the good stuff.

Trust me on this. If you want the piece you're working on to last a long time, stay clear of the thinned down glue, and just invest in the artists medium or water based poly sealer. Trust me on this, I've been doing this sealing thing for many years now.

Sorry, dearies. I had to bag out of doing the Livestream tonight. I'm sick and tired of how much memory Livestream's Procaster uses, which in turn, causes me to have to stream at the normal setting, which looks like CRAP, and that I can't load the Livestream chat onto my Kindle Fire so that I can chat with you all while I work over at my art desk on the other side of the room.

I've signed up for the ability to stream through Tigerdile, which seems to be light on a streamers pc, AND it seems that I can use the chat window on my Kindle. So yay! Keep your fingers crossed that my stream gets the thumbs up approval!

What is techpara? In the words of Wikipedia, techpara is basically parapara dancing to hyper techno music. HOWEVER, the major difference is that techpara utilizes more arm movements at MUCH faster speeds than most parapara routines, and the routines are much more intense. Digit Tuple OC badge inks

The finished inks for Andrew Grondin’s pony OC badge, of his character, Digit Tuple.

Paints and name to worked on soon ( as in this week. Going to run an Art Jam Livestream session while doing it. ).

Inked with a Prismacolor brush marker in black on 11 x 8.5 inch cardstock.
