Long Time No Post!

Heya guys!

Just a quick note to say I'm sorry for not replying to any of the messages in my inbox. I don't really check my livejournal all that much any more (maybe once a month if I'm lucky) so you're much more likely to get a response through my tumblr HERE.

Just a quick note on all of my Sims 2 downloads. I'm really sorry but as I've said previously I no longer have any of these. Not on a computer. Not on a backup HD. Not in some kind of cloud based storage. Nadda. So unfortunately for any of the TS2 download links that no longer work there's not really much I can do. It's my fault for not checking on it enough and I'm really sorry. I will most likely not respond to anyone who asks me where one of my TS2 downloads is etc, because I really can't help. Same goes for any CC that might be in my TS2 pics. I really have no idea about most of them. I'm not even sure the sites I downloaded things from still exist!

TS3 and random other stuff though, I will if I have time try and help people out and answer questions where possible :)

EA Makeover - The Monotone (Base Game)

In my last post turquoiserain asked me if I could do a makeover of The Monotone in Sunset Valley as a starter home. Turns out I'd already done it, it just wasn't a home that I had shared :) I've furnished it as a couples starter (i.e. just under $20,000), but if you want to get it down to $16,000 for a single sim I recommend deleting the sundisk on the front of the house, the fireplace and getting a cheaper bed (I was having a nostalgic moment from this house when I did this makeover, which is why they are included). Also why you would now call this house The Monotone is beyond me :)

(sorry about the visible buydebug lights. I forgot an overhead shot so just quickly snapped one in build mode).

Here is another very simple base game makeover of Jamie Jolina's house (aka 91 Landgrabb ave) in Sunset Valley. I swear I have attepted a makeover of this house about a million times before, but for some reason I could never get it to look right. Again it's not compleatly furnished as I was keeping within the budget of Jamie in my game but you can easily decorate the second bedroom yourself (I was thinking maybe a nursery, though I think my Jamie would prefer some kind of party room).

A very simple makeover of Christopher Steel's house (373 Skyborough Blvd) in Sunset Valley made with the base game only. I won't lie, I did change a tiny bit of the wall on the exterior to make the right hand side flat (I normally hate doing this as the challenge for me is to makeover homes without altering the basic structure). It's also faily lightly furnished as I wanted to keep the home within Christopher's budget, but I figure most of you will want to alter things with CC and your own style anyway :)

EA Makeover - Single Mum's House (Asilomar)

I've had this makeover of the Single Mum's house (330 Oak Grove Road) in Sunset Valley, ready to upload for a while now. Apart from RL getting in the way, one of the reasons I haven't put it up is because I'm still having problems with the sims3packs of my homes not installing. It's got to be something to do with the fact my store content is in merged packages as I've reinstalled, removed all CC, done pretty much everything else and it's when I put those in it starts mucking up. But lots of people use packaged store content without this problem so call me confused. Anyway I'm going to redownload all my store stuff and repackage it to see what that does (or suggestions welcome), but I figure for those of you who CAN get these homes into your game either using a workaround or I've provided a version that goes into the library folder, I'd upload it anyways.

Summer Holidays and Simming Projects

So I'm not dead... :P Just your typical case of RL and loss of interest in simming (it happens). Actually it's been a pretty awesome year for me, but now summer holidays have arrived and I'm just itching to play the sims again (and complete some projects I've had sitting around for ages, including alot of EA makeovers). Another thing I want to try and do is work on Karlsberg, an empty world that I've been using to make my housplan homes in with minimal CC. I figure it would be nice to add some community lots and different homes to it. It's a slow process as I'm trying to move in sims and build up families from scratch (no cheats), adding community lots as I go along. Lol and giving those cardboard cutout homes some personality too! So far I've only got a city hall, park and library, but hey have some random pic spam!

The park is my own October Park, which was actually specifically created for this lot. Lol and yes, the library is a madeover version of the one in Sunset Valley. I liked it :)

Lucy Bell. A variant of the random tester sim I use everywhere and the first resident of Karlsberg. I clearly don't plan on making all the sims for this town, they would all end up clones!

EA Makeover - Landgraab Estate

Putting this makeover up for Lily who reminded me about it in my last post :D It's another one I've had done for a while and just haven't had the opportunity to pop up, mainly because I like to list all the store items I use (which I haven't btw, I'll try and get back to it in the holidays). If I can survive until Friday when they start, I'll fix up the install instructions for my other homes too. I can't seem to find that post anywhere anymore either, so I will probably just make my own. Anyways the Landgraab Manor is a HUGE, expensive home with all the bells and whistles (please don't tax your computer if it can't handle large furnished lots). I haven't taken pictures of every room in the interior, but there is also gym, his and hers offices, theater and multiple other features.

EA Makeover - Cottage Cheese

So, it's been 2 months since I started uni for the year and it's been 2 months (and counting!) since I've been able to play the sims. (Beatdoc NOT happy). Since I'm usually building or decorating, I like to play for about an hour at a time (enough to achieve something) and a free hour has just been impossible to find! Luckily though I have a week break for Easter coming up, and I've managed to scrounge up enough time today to finally share this EA makeover I did months ago. This is Erin Kennedy's home from Sunset Valley aka 67 Water Lily Lane. I've snuck in a top floor (still undecorated) which adds some extra space making the 2 bed, 2 bath home perfect for a small family.

The Champignon & The Fawn

So when I said I'd made a few of these things, I really wasn't joking! The Champignon (4 beds, 3 baths) is a largish home suited to a happily settled sim family, whilst The Fawn (2 beds, 2 baths) is a family home that has been built specifically to accomodate a narrower lot. Whilst both these homes are on smaller lots, their landscaping is only really just around the immediate home so they can easily be placed on larger lots for a bigger backyard or any additions you may want to make.

The Insipide

Like I mentioned in the previous post, I've made a few of these bland generic houseplan homes for my game recently,. If anyone's interested I'm taking them mostly fro here (the first 2). Here is the second one, at $28179 it's a small step up from the previous home but it does come with the added benifit of 3 bedrooms and an attatched gararge. When I've played this hood a little more, I'll be sure to show some pics of the sims that live in these homes and how they've decorated them. Lol also any suggestions for house names that mean plain, bland, neutral etc but sounds a bit more fancy are more than welcome :)

Family Starter - The Neutre

Recently in my own game, I've been making a set of homes from houseplans that are designed as neutral shells that my sims can then move into and give their own personality to the interior decorating as they earn money. I thought some of you might be interested in using them in a similar way so I decided to pop the first one up for download. Yes there is some CC as I was origionally making these just for my own benifit, but I have included it all in a seperate CC folder (except for the store items) and provided links also. Anyway this is a 2 bed 1 bath home which at $19995 basically furnished is perfect for any sim family just starting out.

Surviving Jet Lag

I'm back! (and so incredibly tired that if this post makes no sense I apoligise in advance).
Thanks to everyone who commented on my last post and whilst I was away, I'll go and look over those when I'm a bit less jet lagged, especially as I think some are WCIFs. For now though, I'm just trying to avoid having too much of a nap during today so I can get back into a good sleep pattern - hence I give you some sims (and RL) pictures! This ski lodge I originally created as a Livingsims 'challenge me to decorate' challenge (which if you haven't checked out yet, is a really awesome way to get some inspiration and fun, not to mention drool at all the awesome entries). However I ended up loving the idea so much that I used the pics for an article in the last issue of the mag (which I am only just getting to read now, and it's awesome!). Hopefully they are ok, I lost the originals so these are re-edits/sizes of edits.
Anywho now I'm off to distract myself some more with a downloading spree of all the goodies I missed out on in the last month and to check out everyone else's entries. Enjoy!

Hey all!

Sorry I haven't been around much lately to reply to your posts - things here have just been a little hectic atm. I promise I will get around to it eventually though! I'll also attempt to put up my dream house and garden for DL some time in the new year (resolution much?). Yes the CC full one. I've got a pretty good CC list written up so now it's just a matter of getting the post done and doing some testing. I never realized how long it would take to make that list.

As we speak I am packing to leave for a holiday to the US over Christmas until mid January (I'm super excited!). I fly out tomorrow to LA then Indianapolis to meet up with my brother (who has been on uni exchange over there this semester). Were then travelling to San Fransisco, San Diego, New York (over chrissy), and then down to New Orleans and across the south right back up to LA again. Hehe you should see me attempting to pack to accommodate all the different weather - layers rule! Still praying for my first white Christmas!

So, hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, holiday and new year and I can't wait to see what everyone has been up to when I get back!

EA Makeover - Primrose (Base Game)

It's official, I'm insane. 2 posts in one day, it has to be some kind of record for me. I actually have alot of makeovers just sitting around incomplete because I got annoyed at something, and so I'm finally trying to make myself finish them. This time I bring you another base game EA makeover, of the Hart home in Sunset Valley (303 Skyborough Blvd). With 2 beds and 2 baths it's a nice family home, which for some reason I decided to decorate in a slightly mountain theme (hmm I think I've had cabins and mountains on the brain lately :D). I deleted an annoying empty 3rd floor room and some porch, but other than that the floorplan is the same.

Lol, you can tell I'm in a rush to get the interior decorating done when I start getting super matchy. Anyways I figure most of you like to create interiors yourself.

It's not the most fantastical creation I have ever made but I dare say it's a vast improvement on the original and with no custom content you can't go wrong!
