CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Chase Kilgannon
Canon: The Amory Wars comic series
Original or Alternate Universe: Original
Canon Point: In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3, issue 6. Just before she melds with the Prise to send an energy field to stop The Supreme Tri Mage.
Number: 113

Setting: A wiki link to the story's setting, as well as A snippet on the canon point she's from. And for safe measure: a character list. To summarize the links: Chase comes from a high science fiction universe, where 74 planets are connected together in a triangle using beams of energy from 7 stars. The universe, known as Heaven's Fence, has three primary races: the humans, the Prise, and the Mages. Space ships are not uncommon, as are laser guns, ecetera. There is, however, a strong religious undertone, especially among The Prise, winged females resembling angels, and the Creation Myth that surrounds Heaven's Fence, known as the Ghansgraad. A mage who has dubbed himself the Supreme Tri-Mage, Wilhelm Ryan, has usurped the balance on Heaven's Fence and rules it rather maliciously with his Red Army, leaving Heaven's Fence's fate unknown. If anything is missing or more resources are needed, feel free to AIM SugiKat.

History: Chase is a unique individual, but the vast majority of people underestimate her. A four year old, Chase is by no means human. Created by her 'father,' Jesse Kilgannon, Chase is an IRO-Bot. These unique cyborgs were created to defeat the Supreme Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan--partially cloned with Prise DNA, Chase was created alongside her brother, Sizer, but with distinct differences. Jesse infused Sizer with a growth stimulant, but not a mental one, and Chase was given the mental stimulant and not the growth. The result is that Chase is a 21 year old trapped in a growing 4 year old's body. But Chase was smart, and it showed--immensely.

Jesse was stern and not much of a father. Treating Sizer and Chase like soldiers rather than family, it was not uncommon for Sizer and Jesse to butt heads, sometimes physically. Jesse had created them for one purpose and one purpose only: to fight against Ryan. There was no fatherly love. Instead of being angry at the situation, Chase merely found someone else to teach her the things Jesse could not--compassion and love. Mariah, Jesse's lover and firm believer in their universe's version of the Bible, the Ghansgraad filled this gap gladly, along with a few of the Prise on board. Chase spent the majority of what little childhood she had studying and reading with her, committing the Ghansgraad to memory.

Chase became enlightened one day, aware of something all creatures of Heaven's Fence were completely and utterly in the dark about: they were all in a series of comic books. Every move they made, every word they said, every pivotal point in time was preordained by someone Chase knew only as the Writing Writer. The visions were blurry at first--snippets, still images, bits of song--but as Chase grew (and her power grew), with the help of Mariah, she was able to piece it together.

She was the Visual that was quoted in the Ghansgraad. "....But his[The Crowning's] arrival will not be unheralded. Instead it will be presaged by the coming of The Vishual. The Vishual, a being of such immense power, capable of manipulating the very world around it. That it’s arrival upon Heaven’s Fence will let all thereupon know that the judgement of The Crowing is imminent."

Not one to question the Writing Writer, she went to work on honing her power. Mariah's death due to a failed rebellion lead Chase (and moreso Jesse) to work even harder to make the prophecy come true and to find the Crowning. Thanks to the Writing Writer, the young girl knew exactly who it was: Claudio Kilgannon, Jesse's nephew, son of Coheed & Cambria. She also knew it was not her place to find the Crowning, and instead purposely hung back to let a Prise by the name of Ambellina do her duty as a wingless one. She let Jesse and Sizer know she received visions, but never told them how or why--it's something she's not sure of herself, and she is a firm believer that The Writing Writer would disapprove. Though it was then that Chase began to truly wonder about their predicament. After a few weeks of mulling it over, she devised a test.

Mariah's rebellion failed, leaving Jesse and his crew on the Grail Arbor to go into hiding until The Crowning was found. While Sizer and Jesse continued to bicker and fight, Chase was seemingly growing into the perfect soldier, though at night she was toiling away on a secret construct. She created Longcindia, an IRO-Bot, on her own: something she had not had a vision about, something that the Writing Writer wouldn't expect. Surely, destiny and fate could be altered? If Longcindia was able to help them in their fight, it was proof that things could change course. That not everything was up to her visions. Unfortunately, Chase had been too hasty--the IRO-Bot malfunctioned, and once Jesse heard about this he immediately took action.

To prove a point, Jesse called Chase and Sizer into the Grail Arbor's disposal section, and burned Longcindia in their presence, making them watch. This was a war, he had explained, and the two were to be used as machines. They were not human, and there was no tolerance for failure. Chase became cold and calculating then, withdrawing from everyone in the ship except for her brother Sizer and the Prise. Sizer, on the other hand, grew more and more angry about Jesse's methods.

The Grail Arbor was a threat that needed to be dealt with, according to Ryan. The result was Chase and Sizer's first battle on the planet Silent Earth: 3, and the outcome was less than desired. Sizer was captured and rumoured to be dead, and Chase was injured, leaving the little girl with no true family of her own. She may have only been mentally 20, but it certainly caused panic, as Sizer was the one person she was quite close to since Mariah's death.

Chase began to seclude herself even further, spending days and weeks locked in her room, reciting Ghansgraad by heart. God was the Writing Writer, and the Writing Writer had been cruel, letting the one thing Chase care about perish. No matter what she did to reach out to him, the visions would be anything but Chase's fate. Chase was at a loss, a crisis of faith. She barely ate, barely slept. Even Jesse began to worry about her.

When Sizer did return, the Prise Ambellina and The Crowning, Claudio, accompanied him. It was a happy moment, but Chase knew what she had to do: this was be the recurring vision, the one the Writing Writer would call the climax of this story arc, the one she'd had for weeks and weeks and months and months. They would fight Wilhelm Ryan. Whether they won or nor wasn't determined, but they would fight. And Chase would gain an immense surge of power to drive back and at cripple Ryan's army, hopefully once and for all.

Reunited with Sizer, the two fought side by side, using the powers they were gifted with: Sizer's bulk, and the retracting metal inside of him, and Chase's superior intelligence and energy manipulation, they took down a very, very large chunk of Ryan's Red Army. Fate was cruel--they were separated, yet again.

Surrounded by a legion of his soldiers and finding no way out, Chase refused give up without a fight. She had seen that this was pre-ordained, and was confident the Writing Writer would save her. Using all of her energy, she blew the entire army away, leaving herself tattered, battered and broken.

Claudio found her, near-death. The Crowning. With the last of her strength, she recited the Ghansgraad and told Claudio to bring her to the Prise. With the combined energy of The Vishual and the winged ones, they could take out most of the opposing army in one fell swoop. This would leave Claudio to take down Ryan, once and for all.

Chase remembers a bright light, a surge of power, and then waking up in an unfamiliar ship with an unfamiliar feeling: The Writing Writer had left her, and she, in turn, had left The Crowning and Sizer in the most crucial moment of the entire history of Heaven's Fence.

Personality: Chase has an old soul despite her years--part of that is due to the mental stimulant given to her when created, and part of it is due to listening to the wise words of the Prise and Mariah. She is quite a rational individual, not one to act on impulse--an exact opposite of her brother, Sizer. She considers herself independent, and is not afraid to speak up when she feels something is wrong.

She has a penchant of knowing when things are wrong or out-of-place, which is a residual from her visions and communications with the Writing Writer. Incredibly intelligent, Chase has a logical front she puts on that can often come across as haughty, or even egotistical. She is also the type to watch the events unfold before stepping in, and if she's given no hint from either Jesse or the Writer, she's often afraid to act completely on her own since the incident with Longcindia. Despite her soldier-like attitude of orders first and questions later, Chase is first and foremost a peacekeeper. This comes from years (at least four) of trying to make Jesse and Sizer see the other's mistakes. Just and wise far beyond her years, she's often hesitant to express her own opinion: so much so, it's unlikely you'll even get a passionate answer out of her. She keeps her visions a secret just as much as she does her opinions. Observant, Chase acts slightly robotic due to her environment, and not at all because she's a cyborg. She can be impatient at times, but only with those her age, if only because she doesn't understand them.

There's a different side to her, however, that's not likely to come out to anyone: At her heart, despite how smart she is, Chase is still barely out of the toddler phase of childhood. No matter her wit and brain power, nor her visions or place in the grand scheme of things, at her core she's a scared child with no parents, created for the sole purpose of war, brought up by a group of what can easily be viewed as religious fanatics. She is constantly in need of some sort of guidance, be it the Ghansgraad, Sizer, Jesse or her visions. She does not adapt to change well.

Abilities, Weaknesses and Power Limitations: As previously mentioned, Chase is quite intelligent. Alarmingly so for a four year old, able to read extensively--her brain power is high enough that she can build another one of her own kind, an IRO-Bot, which had taken their original creator years to figure out. Unfortunately her age is also a bit of a curse--from minor acts like no one taking her seriously, or being unable to reach things, to having limited movement and range, to larger act such as not relating to other children or not fitting in as well as a soldier should.

As The Vishual, the One that Bears the Vision, Chase is able to tap into the Writing Writer's mind from time to time, often reverting to a dream-like, trance state while she does so. She is able to predict the course of the plot and the fate of it's characters, and is very well aware of the fact that she is in a series of graphic novels and concept albums.

She is also able to tap into other people's energy, as well as her own, to manipulate energy and turn it to anti-matter. This works much like a photon rifle or a phazer on a science-fiction show, and depending on how rested she is and her state of mind, can be anywhere from a small sting to a large explosion.

[[OOC NOTE: I'm well aware the vision thing might pose a problem to those and others, and as discussed with one of the mods, she will be keeping the fact that she believes she's in a game to herself, and the majority of her glimpses into the future will be about herself, unless the other player is asked beforehand. I'm perfectly comfortable with downgrading anything you seem fit!]]

Inventory: A copy of Ghansgraad given to her by the Mariah.
Appearance: The jump has altered her appearance, though only somewhat. Instead of a four year old, Chase has grown into a child of around 11. Her appearance has not been altered, other than growing up. As a result her hair is a little longer. Her appearance will be that of Cassandra Sawtell.
Age: 4

SAMPLES
Log Sample: Chase felt like she was staring down death. There they were, the beautiful, winged creatures she had been sharing knowledge with. It was chilling, the look in their eyes, the sheer beauty of their determination. Their deathly intent. The little girl couldn't help but shiver. This was it. This was the moment.

She nodded to Claudio, and the older IRO-Bot returned to the battle, leaving Chase to look longingly at the Prise. No words were said--an army of Prise and one, lone cyborg held hands, and Chase felt herself shaking with the pure energy they were lending her. She could feel it bubbling, surfacing, and for a moment she felt such immense pain it was going to rip her in two, and then--

--Chase opened her eyes, head swimming, body reeling. She felt sick, dizzy, and for a moment she fancied herself in the sick bay of the Grail Arbor, regenerating in her tube before a sickening reality crashed down on her. She'd been living on the ship for four years. This wasn't right, this didn't look right. Had she been captured?

The fluid had drained, and the moment she took a step forward she immediately regretted it. Nausea was never a good sign, but the panic was still gripping her tightly enough to react quickly and hold on to the side. Sizer had been captured--he rarely talked about it, but there was blood, there was pain and then there was disassembling, waking up in the sewers of Gotter Dam. This was a regeneration chamber with no visible sign of any instruments of torture.

Forcing herself to act as calmly as she could, small legs put one foot in front of the other, finding everything abnormally taller. She'd been drugged, perhaps. That was the only explanation. But where was Ryan's Red Army? Where was the pain, save for her swimming head? Where was...

Where was her face?

Chase had caught her reflection on what she perceived to be a locker, but this? This wasn't her face. It was but she had grown older. Older but none the wiser--and still young by many standards. She ran a hand down her own cheek, in awe. An upgrade? Had someone upgraded her? It explained the dizzy feeling... And the the odd serial number on her arm. She wasn't aware IRO-Bots could age quickly like this, unless a growth stimulant was to blame.

Finding the door to the locker unlocked, she bent down and picked up what was in the very bottom, ignoring the clothes. What usually made her feel warm instead made her blood cold, because this? The battered, nearly broken copy of the Ghansgraad given to her by Mariah? Was safely tucked away on her room aboard the Grail Arbor. The thought of someone invading the ship made her sick. A lot of things were beginning to turn her stomach, and she took deep, slow breathes, trying to calm herself. She had no idea what to think, not until Writing Writer gave her a glimpse of how things were to be. For now, there were these clothes, and some sort of device.

Everything was telling her to not to, but she pressed the power button anyway, blue eyes scanning for any sign of where she was or how she got here. She was too busy staring that the voice made her jump.

//"Please take the blue lift to the passenger quarters."//

She looked over, and, sure enough, a blue lift. It took her all of five seconds before deciding that until she found Sizer, or even The Crowning, she was going to have to be alone. Trying to bury the thought of how truly terrifying that was, Chase grabbed the clothes and began to dress.

Blue lift it was, then.

Comms Sample:

[ The communicator displays an incredibly young girl with an incredibly unamused expression on her face, jaw set, blue eyes steely. No sign of baby-talk or mispronounced words for this little girl ]

This is The Vishual of the Ghansgraad. Sizer? Da--Inferno? Crowning? [ Her voice grows smaller ]

If these individuals aren't here, I'd be charmed if someone could give me an explanation of why I'm here. I haven't seen Ryan's logo anywhere, nor a Red Soldier. Something tells me someone's playing games.
