Today...
I think it was Hemmingway that said at the start of one of his books "Start with the most true thing you can write." Or something to that effect. Hence my first terribly exciting sentence here...Wow, those hours doing random reading in the student union fiction library are really paying off...heh.
Today I escaped the 36 degree (celsius) heat by going to the movies. I saw Monsters Inc...I love that movie :)
I would have seen Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring, but I'm going to see that in Gold Class with my boyfriend on Wednesday. I finished Fellowship (the book) last week, and am absolutely bursting at the seams to see the movie. I'm soooo excited about it, I can hardly wait! So it killed me a bit today that my parents saw it before me..as they pointed out, that's two of the big releases this summer that they have seen before me (the other being Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone).
So, Monsters Inc. An absolutely wonderful film...didn't have many in the cinema...mainly kiddies and their parents. The average attention span of the kids was just under an hour...so it got a bit noisy halfway through the film. I loved the film though...funny, witty...well animated too. You just had to love how Mike's skin had little pigmentation spots on it..and how Sully's fur rippled when a breeze went by :) And Boo was just so cute :) Made me all warm and fuzzy.
The outtakes at the end were nearly funnier than the actual film itself...and absolute pisser. The music was really well done too...kudos to the violin soloist! The music reminded me of some of the jazzy music that used to be used in ye olde Bugs Bunny cartoons...and Disney too (as one would expect).
I also did some shopping afterwards...bought beads :)
Another fascination and new obsession of mine, the beads...I've been into it for about 3-4ish months now...the net is a great place for learning new techniques and getting patterns and the like. Plus meeting some really great, creative people.
I hope to post some pix of my work along here at some stage...actually, think I might do that in the next post.
