I saw Secretary today...
Firstly, I'd like to start by saying that I have always loved James Spader. He's a sexy potential geek. He'd make a lovely hacker-type.
Anyhoo,
I'm going to do this fairly randomly.
- I found it a bit confronting sometimes. I mean, I've read BDSM fic etc, but seeing bits of it acted out...different.
- James Spader is hot.
- Mary Gyllenhal is nice :) Her acting was lovely, as was JS's. Aside from the cutting, I always felt that there was something else about her time in the institution that perhaps needed explaining. Or maybe it needed no explanation, maybe I was just unsatisfied.
- I want that office space complete with all the furnishings.
- The pace of the plot seemed to plod along in a fairly slow manner, which annoyed me. I wanted to whip through (pun not intended) faster, see more events, that kind of thing. I'm all for slow unwinding, but this didn't have enough winding to give justice to the slowness of it all.
I think that's all. This movie's hasn't made it onto the "Must See In Cinema Again NOW" list.
