I saw X2, otherwise known as X-Men 2 today!

Let me first start off by saying that on the first viewing of X-Men 1, it was a passable film, but I wasn't head over heels with it.

Despite this, I loved the second one. That is the main point I would like to make :D

- Thing that struck me in the very first opening scene with Wolverine trudging through the snow? "Wow, he's wearing flares..." or atleast, boot-cut pants. And I'm pretty sure that later on when he dons the X-Men suit, they too have a slight boot cut...I find it amusing :D
- This movie didn't feel as Wolverine-centric as the first did, but I may be wrong about it. It had more subplots that were more interesting than in the first, and as a whole, I found the narrative in general to be better paced and more fulfilling than previously.
- Rogue and Bobby...so cute :D Although, Rogue's dress style has gone a bit...well, breast oriented. Just thought it was a little too ...not Rogue.
- It took me (and my friend) a little chunk of time to work out that Nightcrawler was played by Alan Cumming. It's confusing with all the blue and the archangel tattoos. It was the profile that gave it away though, after a bit of deliberation.
- Speaking of Nightcrawler, he was pretty cool. I was under the misinformation that he was a bad guy...altho maybe he was in the cartoon series? Am unsure about this. My friend liked the quasi-chemistry thing happening between him and Storm, but I wasn't that keen on it. Just didn't ring true like Jean and Wolverine or Jean and Scott, ya know?
- Which brings me to one of the main points in this quasi-review. I loved the tension that continued between Jean/Wolverine/Scott. Loved it. And the choices...and...*sigh* Not having read the comics, I know nothing of the "actual" or canon state of affairs between the three, apart from the fact that Jean and Scott were in a relationship. But I like the way it's played out in the movie.
- This brings me to THE BIG SPOILER, AVERT THINE EYES LEST YE BE SPOILED WITHIN AN INCH OF YOUR LIFE. *ahem*
They "killed" Jean Grey. She was my favourite character from the films. And they killed her. I was nearly crying. She had such good hair too! It was a crime to kill such good hair and a lovely complexion. Obviously these are not the only reasons I like her, but felt it worthy of a mention. The way they left the film so open ended, with a sweeping shot over the body of water, Xavier's look out the window etc, leads me to believe that she is still alive (again, not knowing the canon story involving her). I hope she is still alive. I loff her so much. *cries*

I think I'll leave it there. More random thoughts will probably pop out here later.
