Ned Kelly

wickedcherub and I saw Ned Kelly this evening...

• First words I said to WC when the credits rolled: "That was a fucking funny film!" Cos it was. Some parts were feckin hilarious with jokes and stuff...others...not so sure whether they were intended to come out that way.

• One of my favourite lines would have to be: (said by Ned) "You're the Great Orlando? I'm the Great Ned Kelly and this is the fabulous Joe Burne" - to the circus man in Glenrowan

• I liked Heath's acting better than Orlando's. Orlando's accent was a major sticking point with me..it just didn't seem consistent enough. And his Chinese? Didn't sound right the way he said it. I may not be able to speak it, but I can tell dialects apart...and it just didn't sit in his mouth well.

• Speaking of Orlando...that mouth of his...mmm. He was hot in this film. That scarf...that bath...Joe's way with women...*lick lick lick* Although, why he keeps that scarf on when he's wearing the armour is beyond me.

• Overall, I wouldn't say that I loved it, but it was an okay film. Aside from the blatant "here's a shot of a cockatoo, another shot of a goanna, a few rosellas..." type Australiana things that get to me from time to time. It's just ...obvious. imho that aspect should go down well with overseas audiences though.

In short, go see it because it is a fairly interesting film. And the horsies are fairly pretty. And Orlando is very pretty. Prettier than Heath. And with better hair (facial and otherwise).
