Ice Storm
So beautiful to watch, so very, very sad.
Gorgeous film made by Ang Lee, cast including Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, Tobey Maguire, Christina Ricci and a very young Elijah Wood.
I had actually seen parts of the film previous to my finding a copy of it, I think one of my parents had watched it soon after the original video release a few years back.
Tobey Maguire was so awkward in it, that was really special to watch as he did a fantastic job. So awkward that it was cringeworthy. Come to think of it, quite a few of the roles had me cringing because they unsettled me. Elijah's character during the storm had me saying "please no, please no.." for what you knew was coming.
In terms of cinematography, it was very beautiful especially (and obviously) with the ice storm itself. Not getting a great deal of snow here, it was beautiful to watch everything freezing up.
Can't really think of much else to say because I watched it at around midnight last night when I was nearly half asleep. Thusly I couldn't digest some of the philosophical dispensings of Maguire from the comic books, but I'm sure that on a reviewing at a normal hour it will make more sense. *nods*
Go see it, yall.
