Cider House Rules
Whilst the parentals were out for lunch, I popped in the tape of Cider House Rules from when it was on tv a few weeks ago.
I really enjoyed it. Michael Caine was great and Tobey was an absolute sweety.
Made me think alot about abortion and choice and that sort of thing, which would have been so very different in those days. I'm glad that they were able to offer women the choice even though it was illegal, and that they were able to do it safely also.
Cos I know that if I were in a similar situation, I would want that choice too. Hence why I'm pro-choice, but I didn't want to turn this into a "political" post.
The film itself was very beautiful to watch, in terms of aesthetics also. The scenery...just makes ya want to go to Maine, ya know? *giggle*
