Thank god it's Friday...
Not that this week has been very full-on or anything. I just needed a subject line :P
Went in to uni this morning for my cinema tute...for which I hadn't seen the film (Bicycle Thieves) or gone to the lecture. I had done the readings though, so I wasn't all in the dark when it came to the tute. But these tutes, as it goes, are pretty light and not very brain intensive, so it was all fine.
Pre-class I'd gone into union house to Donut King and was accosted atleast 3 times by various political campaigners for the union elections. I've never said "I've already voted!!" so many times in one morning. Was then accosted, whilst eating a chocolate iced donut atleast 4 times on the way to the tute. It's not like it was way over the other side of campus, causing me to pass many candidates/party members on the way. There just happen to be a tonnne of them on the Swanston street side of uni :P
I then wandered to the station and home (post-tute obviously) and spent the rest of today on and offline and reading.
Have more or less put The Silmarillion on the backburner basically because it practically puts me to sleep.
Started reading Rebecca Well's other Ya-Ya related book, Little Altars Everywhere, which was actually her first book, not Divine Secrets Of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. Am quite enjoying it, but so far (about 3 chapters in) it's not as good as Divine Secrets. Hence why Divine Secrets is the big seller and this one is not.
Also picked up one of Marion Zimmer Bradley's Avalon books - I'd read The Forest House last year and Lady of Avalon, but as I remember it, I didn't finish Lady and didn't get on to Mists of Avalon. But it may very well have been that I got through Lady aswell but not very far in Avalon. I'm pretty sure that it's the former, because so far (7 chapters in), I can remember the events, but not how it all turns out.
But it's still very enjoyable :)
Was invited to a party tonight and tomorrow with Mr Man, but I couldn't be bothered going (for a change) and am staying home. Just can't be bothered, and really need a decent weekend's sleep before the business that will be next week. Plus the parentals will be going away next week and I do actually want to spend a bit of time with them.
So yeah. That's Friday.
