looking for a fic

Hi everyone,

So sorry if this fic has been recently identified, but i cannot find it anywhere.

The plot is draco and hermione meet at a wedding and hook up. But then years go by and they never mention to it, but they run in similar circles so its very awkward. Hermione really liked Draco so she is very hurt by the whole thing. In the end it turns out Draco had left a note for Hermione but she didnt get it, so it was all a big misunderstanding. Happy ending ensues.

I could have sworn floorcoaster wrote it, but i cant find it anywhere.

Anyone know this mystery fic? Its a good one!!

WATCH VERONICA MARS

I want all 5 of you to watch Veronica Mars tonight, I will not give up on them. Maybe I should mention that when I meet them on Saturday(!)

That's right, a couple posts ago I mentioned my financial woes and how I got granted some good timing, something that has always been off in my life. Now things seem to be taking a turn for the better. My mom and I are going to NYC this weekend to visit aunts, cousins and other various families and friends (for those who dont know, my mom is from queens and I was born in NJ and lived in NJ/NY until 3rd grade)and the cast of Veronica Mars is going to be at Macys on Saturday! Yikes, I dont know what to do. I am so psyched (yes, psyched) to meet them, but I hope they dont think I am retarded, plus I am now in my late 20s, is that too old to be all fanatical?

Sometimes I just dont know about timing.

This morning I gave a pride swallowing plea to my brother for $60, because I am broke. How this came about is too complicated and too involved to get into.

Since I have saved him countless times he agreed to give me $60, so that two checks wont bounce.

Seven hours later (and before the checks cleared) I get a direct deposit of $131 for subbing at Chardon last weekend.

Hmpf.

PG in response to zeisgeist's spoiler...

I did it! Out of shear will power I didnt read zeisgeist's spoiler until I watched the episode.

As you know I am a big fan of Project Greenlight (shia, sigh), but what you may not know is my inner turmoil of Ben v. Matt. I am constantly at odds as to who I like more. In the beginning it was Good Will Hunting that put Matt in the lead, then Ben with Armaggedon turned it around and after the shady Oprah breakup with Minnie Driver, Matt was on the shit list. But then the whole Bennifer thing happened and Ben was kicked to the curb, and then the Bourne movies came and it was back to Matt. But then after all his bad movies and the "breakup heard round the world" I really felt bad for Ben. Then it seemed like Ben was back. His SNL ep was really funny, the Red Sox won the World Series (I always felt like Ben was the bigger fan than Matt) and I started to think it was Ben's year. Especially after the one, two punch of Ocean's 12 (ick) and watching Stuck on You on cable (double ick), Matt was fading fast. But then when I watched Project Greenlight...oh Matt I am in love again. He's so stoic.

So this rant may be uneccessary, but as a true Matt/Ben fan and a huge PG fan I thought I needed to get it all out.

And oh yeah, PG is totally dead in the water. It sucks because, obviously this is about it for them, so why didnt they go out with a bang? Wouldnt you rather stick to your guns and make it a fulfilling final season, or sell out with the hopes that you might get one more try.

See Matt and I think alike...we are soul mates.

I know I only have like 6 friends on this journal, but I am doing this anyway.

Last year, I shamelessly begged my friends list to watch One Tree Hill, because the ratings were low and it was really good. Unfortunately that was last year, now OTH sucks and has great ratings...go figure.

Well my plea is back only this time I am begging you to watch Veronica Mars. It is soooooooooo good. Its funny and clever and desperately needs viewers. It is on at 9pm on UPN (I know, UPN right?) and it is definately worth watching.

Random thoughts @4:44 am

Well I am doing the overnight reference until 5 am, ugh. And with no nap either.

The OC was so good tonight. Seth was a riot in the wife beater and the bad boy image. And the doe and her scene at the party. What drama.

Days is making me crazy as usual. How can Phillip and Belle be married, it just isnt right. Plus it is the most inconsistent show ever, and I'm an One Tree Hill fan so that is saying something!

I just finished Saving Francesca (based on zeisgeist 's review. Wow. I havent read a really good YA book in a while. I usually dont like australian based books, I just usually cant get with the language, i.e. year of secret assignments. But I have never felt for a character like a did for Francesca. It was also one of those books where every word has a purpose, even the "buts" and "ifs". It is also one of those books that takes you to a different place, whether in the book or in your own memories. I cant say enough about it. I am happy to say it is the first book of my resolution of 100.

The second book was Princess Present, which I read in 45 minutes. It was a super easy read and only about 90 pages. But it was some good light holiday reading. Plus it was only a matter of time before Cabot interjected OC comments, and I loved them all!

So now I am on to Godless (do I get all my picks from zeisgeist or what?)

Still plugging through Unthinkable Thoughts of Jacob Green.

I am listening to the first Georgia Nicholson book, its pretty good but that is on hold for Green Day's American Idiot which is great. Almost as good as Dookie.

Off to get my haircut tomorrow, thank god.

I know your suppose to give "until it hurts" but sadly minus $25 does hurt my small budget.

Have to go to walmart tonight but there is two inches of solid ice on the roads, that cant be good.

So I watched two eps of veronica mars last night (sat and last nights) and I have to say I really love this show. I am so torn because I love VR but I feel obligated to watch One Tree Hill. I know OTH is super bad right now, but last season I was frantic there wouldnt be a second season and now its here and I feel like I should appreciate it. What will I do come Jan 25th??

Lost returns tonight, thank god.

I was all set to go to walmart after work to get stuff for byl's xmas package, but i had some peanuts after dinner and now I think i am dying.

So walmart I think will have to go on hold. I still have to go to giant eagle, ugh...i think i can make it one more day without grocery shopping, i just want to sleep!

In other news, last night I finished season one of sex and the city. I dont have cable upstairs, but when I was getting my room together after the move I wanted to have something interesting to watch but something that doesnt require a lot of thought. i was always so anti satc, it seemed unrelatable (is that a word) but i thought i'd give it a try. what a great show, i stand corrected. I find myself relating a lot more than I thought I would. So now its on to season two, I have to say I was kind of happy Carrie and Mr. Big split up, am I the only person who thinks he is an ass?

Halfway through the Degrassi marathon and I am so in love with Craig. Except the degrassi eps are so random, even when there are marathons, the episodes, let along the seasons arent in order. It is so confusing.

Dead tired

What a weekend.

Had a great time in elo. Busy day today. Came home and went to the Darrs for food, football and fun. Luckily the second was only for a short time but BROWNS win! We played Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture. It was great fun, but Jesse is so competitive, but then again so am I. Our team lost (Mom, Shari, Mickey and me) and I can narrow our downfall to one moment. The question is about a talk show host who said scandelous things about gays in 2000. I was so close to saying Dr. Laura, when my Mom chimes in (for the first time all game), "I know it," she says. I tell her to answer for the team, what does she says...ELLEN. For christsake mom. First Ellen came around in 2003, second I highly doubt Ellen would say bad things about the gays. And of course it was Dr. Laura. So we lost, but I can deal with that.

Later, went to the legion and met Liz and Heather. Liz is bartending since the QH debacle. She fixed big drinks at no cost, two pinapple and malibus and a jagerbomb (sp?) later I am thinking she is the best bartender ever. Off to Heather's we went to watch Princess Diaries Two and eat bad things. Classic line of the night:

Heather: Julie Andrews is a queen to me everyday.

LOL.

Got to check out the newest Soap Opera Weekly, so much good stuff to come on DAYS, still have to watch Fridays ep.

Super tired, I have the Degrassi marathon from Thursday on the tivo but too tired to watch.

Happy Fucking New Years

New icon to commerate season 2 of Carnivale, Nick Stahl...mmmmmm.

So, one of my new years resolutions is to reevaluate this journal.

I dont pretend to think that my entries have any impact on the people who read it, but what I want is for it to have an impact on me. So my goal is to keep this journal for myself and be able to look back on 2005 as a guide to what happened in my life.

2004 was a year full of big stuff. The biggest being the announcement of my new niece or nephew, who is only 5 weeks away. My other brother got engaged, and I went through another year convinced I will be a spinster 4life.

Milestones I had a few: graduating from graduate school, getting my first professional full time job, moving out on my own, dealing with Byl's leaving, losing 20 pounds, etc.

Goals for 2005: to keep losing weight, to find inner peace, to read 100 books, to see 50 movies (in theater), to be a wonderful aunt and to stop gambling.

Well the last one has already been shot. Actually the goal is based on tonights events. Down 70 bucks, won 50 and leave only 20 bucks behind. Instead one hour later I am down 120. How did this happened? Now that I have adult type bills I find myself having buyers remorse and gamblers remorse so much more. What I could have done with 120 dollars? It makes me cringe just thinking of it. It seems so easy to win when your winning and so impossible when you are losing.

Saw Meet the Fockers with Brooke, hilarious perhaps better than the first. Bold statement.

2005 the year of the Char.

Another step towards independance...

Well I dont know what is going on. For the first time everything seems to be going my way. I am even hesitant to write about it for fear I am going to jinx it. Ok, here goes: I signed a 6 month lease yesterday for my new APARTMENT!!! Plus I went to my credit union and got a $5000 credit card that will pay off all my other credit cards, so that I only have one. Now, $5000 seems like a lot, but I have $4000 in credit card debt, and I will have an exra $1000 for emergencies. Plus the interest rate for the VISA is 11.9%, not the 28.99% I have been paying for years. For you Clevelanders, my new apartment is in Chagrin Falls. Which I know is a pricy area, but my rent is so cheap! Plus it is not just an apartment it is a coach house. It is on the property of a farm-type place. It has a large room that is the living room, dining area and kitchen, plus a FIREPLACE! An attached garage, so for the first time in my life, I do not have to scrap snow off my car, then the upstairs is like a loft, with my bedroom and bathroom (WITH A SHOWER, my parents house is super old and has no shower.) There are these walking trails behind the house, with streams and hills. It is really a dream. I move in December 10th, which will be interesting since I have to work all weekend.

Now I can shop at IKEA with a purpose!!!

Bitter

I am ashamed to be on Ohioan today and while I will never be ashamed to be an American, I am deeply disappointed in our county.

George W. Bush is not my president.

The largest voter turnout and they came for Bush. I am deeply disappointed in the youth vote, it turned out to be only 9 percent of voters.

I am shocked and saddened that the entire south is Bush and I am even sadder to have found out that the South was deeply Democratic until Lyndon Johnson passed the civil rights laws. Fucking rednecks.

It took me some time to warm up to Kerry but in these final months, I really came to respect and believe in this man.

I no longer believe in this country and I have no respect for George Bush.

I am disgusted on how this melting pot of people from every walk of life has been watered down into a giant Wal-mart.

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

Thoughtful post

So, so you think you can tell
Heaven from Hell,
Blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field
From a cold, steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

So, do you think we can change,
Everybody that hates,
Before it's too late.
So proud to be free,
But who can we blame?
Don't be ashamed,
Do you think we can change?

How I wish,
How I wish you were here,
We're a world of lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
Year after year.
Running over the same old ground,
What have we found?
The same old fears,
Wish you were here.

We don't need,
Need any more pain.
We just need to remain on the very same page,
So much to gain.
No more losing a friend,
We're losing ourselves.
We just need your help,
So glad you're here.

So glad you're here.

This song was sung by Fred Durst and Johnny Reznik during the America - A Tribute to Heroes telecast. The words were changed a bit from the original for the 9/11 victims, almost three years later this song still resonates, only this time I read these words and I think of the troops and the victims of Iraq.

This war is crap and everyday I get more and more afraid that Bush is going to win.

Message to Bush: We don't need, need any more pain.

Going for Gold

So for the last week I have been glued to the olympics. I was in ELO all week with Brooke and we have fallen in love with Michael Phelps. Now Brooke is one to quickly jump on the bandwagon when it comes to the current "it" boy, but I have to say this time I have too. Now Michael Phelps is barely legal (19) but holy cow does he have a body. I mean it leaves you dry mouthed and sweaty palmed. He is kinda goofy looking and he acts like any 19 year old guy but one look at that torso and I understand the purpose of centerfolds. So now he is my new icon.

In other Olympic news, I am very happy about Paul Hamm's success but he is so unusual looking and that voice, whoa. It is totally munchkinland.

Things that make you go hmmm...

In his memoirs, "A World Transformed," written five years ago, George Bush Sr. wrote the following to explain why he didn't go after Saddam Hussein at the end of the Gulf War:

"Trying to eliminate Saddam...would have incurred incalculable human and political costs. Apprehending him was probably impossible... We would have been forced to occupy Baghdad and, in effect, rule Iraq....There was no viable 'exit strategy' we could see, violating another of our principles. Furthermore, we had been consciously trying to set a pattern for handling aggression in the post-Cold War world. Going in and occupying Iraq, thus unilaterally exceeding the United Nations' mandate, would have destroyed the precedent of international response to aggression that we hoped to establish. Had we gone the invasion route, the United States could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land."

If only his son could read.

I just watched Eurotrip. It was awful but had some moments. Interesting facts: Matt Damon was in it. The kids are from Hudson, OH which happens to be where my new job is. Although, the Hudson in the movie was not quite the same as the real life Hudson.
