Step 1: Submit a complete application

The online application can be found on our website under Admissions, including information about required documents.

Step 2: Transfer the non-refundable Application Fee of € 200 to BIS using the following bank details:

The application cannot be processed until payment is received.

Please note payment of Application Fee does not guarantee a school place.

Step 3 - Secondary School: Placement Testing and Personal Interview

Students applying for Grades 6-12 may be required to have a personal interview and to complete an online English placement test and spontaneous writing assignment. Long-distance applicants may be interviewed via video.

Step 3 - Primary School: Guest Day and Language Screening

Students applying for Grades EC2-5 may be required to have one or several trial days and a German language screening.

Step 4: Application review by the Admissions Committee

Step 5: Notification of Acceptance

If admission is granted, parents will be notified via an acceptance letter. The school contract for the pertinent school year as well as the payment form will be enclosed with this letter.

Step 6: Parents must return the signed school contract and payment form to BIS 

Step 7: Invoice and Payment of School Fees

All school fees for students are payable in advance as described in the BIS school prospectus.

With the submission of this enquiry / application form to BIS, you declare your agreement to allow BIS to use your provided data to process your enquiry / application, in order to determine whether or not BIS can offer you a school contract.

Data submitted via the online application is transmitted using secure socket layer technology (SSL). Your data will be stored in our school admissions software (open apply), hosted by ManageBac LLC. ManageBac LLC is privacy shield certified.  

Physical, electronic and procedural safeguards designed to help secure our system and your personal information and to assist us in preventing unauthorised access, use, disclosure, loss, alteration and/or destruction of that information are in place.

Mit der Übersendung dieses Anmeldeformulars an die BIS erklären Sie sich einverstanden, dass die BIS die darin enthaltenen Daten zur Prüfung, ob ein Schulvertrag zustande kommen kann, bearbeitet.

Daten, die Sie im online-application Formular eingeben, werden nur mittels SSL-Verschlüsselung übertragen. Die Daten werden im Schulaufnahmeprogramm (open apply) gespeichert. Open apply wird von ManageBac LLC, welches die privacy shield Vorgaben erfüllt, betrieben.

Data usage & retention

Data submitted will be used to process your enquiry / application and may also be used for statistical analysis.

If accepted, you will receive information on further necessary data protection measures and permissions together with the school contract. Once the signed school contract is returned to BIS, the data will be synced to our locally hosted school management system (iSAMS).

If not accepted or if you withdraw your application, we will store the personal data transmitted with your application for no more than two school years before making them anonymous, to be used only for statistical analysis in Open Apply.

Datennutzung und -löschung

Übermittelte Daten werden für die Prüfung der Anfrage / Anmeldung und den Anmeldeprozess sowie möglicherweise für statistische Auswertungen verwendet.

Mit einer positiven Aufnahmeentscheidung erhalten Sie weitere Informationen zur notwendigen Datenverwendung mit dem Schulvertrag. Mit Rücksendung des unterzeichneten Schulvertrages werden die Daten in unser lokal betriebenes Schulmanagementprogramm (iSAMS) übertragen.

Mit einer negativen Aufnahmeentscheidung oder Ihrem Rücktritt vom Aufnahmeprozess werden die übermittelten Daten nach zwei Schuljahren anonymisiert und dann nur noch für statistische Auswertungen in open apply verwendet.
