Dabei setzen die beiden Satelliten-Lautsprecher auf eine mattschwarze Oberfl\u00e4che mit feiner Holzstruktur. Das verleiht den Lautsprechern einen unverg\u00e4nglichen Look und hat den Vorteil, dass sie nicht anf\u00e4llig f\u00fcr Fingerabdr\u00fccke sind. Gleiches gilt f\u00fcr den acht Zoll gro\u00dfen Subwoofer, welcher ebenfalls mit einem Vollholzgeh\u00e4use und der besagten dunklen Holzoptik daherkommt. Die Materialwahl hat aber nicht nur optische Gr\u00fcnde: Sie soll Resonanzen minimieren und damit den Klang verbessern. Im Gegensatz dazu sind die Membranen auf der Vorderseite der Lautsprecher mit schwarzem Stoff \u00fcberzogen. Dennoch ist das Gesamtbild nicht ganz auf dem Niveau des Edifier S880DB MKII, der allerdings auch in einer anderen Preisklasse angesiedelt ist. Nichtsdestotrotz offenbaren sich uns im Test pr\u00e4zise Spaltma\u00dfe sowie die robuste Bauweise der Satelliten samt Subwoofer, was sich in Langlebigkeit und Stabilit\u00e4t niederschl\u00e4gt. Das wird auch beim Blick auf die Waage best\u00e4tigt, wo das Edifier M601DB stolze 11,5 kg zur Schau stellt. Rutschfeste F\u00fc\u00dfchen an jedem Element sorgen zudem f\u00fcr einen sicheren Stand.
