Mit gerade einmal 43 Gramm ist die Lexar SL500 ein wirklich schlankes und leichtes Ger\u00e4t, das definitiv in jede Hosen- oder Jackentasche passt. Was das Design angeht, so ist dies schlicht und einfach gehalten. Bei der Materialwahl f\u00e4llt auf, dass das gesamte Geh\u00e4use aus Aluminium besteht und solide verarbeitet ist. \u00dcber eine IP-Schutzklasse verf\u00fcgt die portable SSD indes nicht. Betrachtet man die kurzen Seiten der SL500, so ist auf der oberen Kante die Modellbezeichnung aufgedruckt, auf der gegen\u00fcberliegenden Seite befinden sich eine blaue LED und der USB-C-Anschluss. Etwas Federn lassen muss die Lexar SL500 allerdings im 4K-Test, den sowohl CrystalDiskMark als auch AS SSD Benchmark mit den Testwerten untermauert. Mit knapp 23 MByte\/s beim Lesen sowie rund 60 MByte\/s im 4K-Test kann die Lexar SL500 an dieser Stelle eher der Mittelklasse zugeordnet werden. Weiterhin bleibt die Datenrate auch bei gr\u00f6\u00dferen Dateien konstant, starke Einbr\u00fcche konnten wir w\u00e4hrend der gesamten Laufzeit nicht verzeichnen. Allerdings zeigt der Kompressions-Benchmark, dass der Schreibprozess im Detail gerne etwas schwankt, was sich \u00fcber mehrere Durchl\u00e4ufe erstreckte. Beim \u00fcblichen Kopieren von Dateien im Windows Explorer konnte dieses Verhalten nicht beobachtet werden. Au\u00dferdem wurde die 50\u00b0C-Marke im Test bei der Lexar SL500 nicht \u00fcberschritten.
