Als Zubeh\u00f6r wird nur eine kleine T\u00fcte mit Schrauben und ein paar einfach verwendbaren Kabelbindern geliefert, zusammengebunden mit den Frontpanel-Kabeln im Geh\u00e4use. Neben den Schrauben gibt es auch ein Werkzeug, um die Mainboard-Abstandshalter mithilfe eines Schraubendrehers herausschrauben zu k\u00f6nnen. Diese sind werksseitig in ATX-Anordnung bereits ins Geh\u00e4use geschraubt und k\u00f6nnen mit dem Werkzeug bei Bedarf anders platziert oder entfernt werden. Fl\u00e4che an der Front ein wenig wie Geh\u00e4use fr\u00fcherer Tage, welche hinter einer schicken Front die 5,25\u201c-Laufwerke versteckt hatten. Laufwerksslots wie diese sucht man beim MasterBox 500 allerdings vergeblich und so stellt sich zu Beginn einmal die Frage, was Cooler Master mit diesem Design bezweckt. Diese ist zwar aus Kunststoff, der durch den Brushed-Aluminum-Look jedoch sehr hochwertig wirkt. Dazu ist er resistent gegen\u00fcber Fingerabdr\u00fccken. Die Front l\u00e4sst sich komplett abnehmen, um an die L\u00fcfter zu kommen und hierbei f\u00e4llt positiv auf, dass keine Kabel das Entfernen erschweren \u2013 die RGB-Komponenten am Frontpanel werden durch einen 3-Pin-Kontakt angesteuert und die Anschl\u00fcsse sitzen direkt am Geh\u00e4use hinter dem Frontpanel. Die Kn\u00f6pfe f\u00fcr Power und Reset befinden sich ebenfalls am Geh\u00e4use und das Frontpanel gibt den Druck der dort verbauten Tasten dahin weiter. Wenn man das Teil jedoch abgenommen hat, findet man schnell Gefallen am offenen Zugriff. So kann man das Mainboard simpel verkabeln, ohne seine Finger am CPU-Stromstecker verbiegen zu m\u00fcssen und auch ein Radiator oder die L\u00fcfter lassen sich am Oberteil einfach befestigen, indem man alles einfach auf den Tisch legen kann und beide H\u00e4nde zum schrauben hat statt die Teile gleichzeitig in Position halten und von der anderen Seite anschrauben zu m\u00fcssen. Das macht die Arbeit im Geh\u00e4use wirklich au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlich angenehm.<\/p>\n<p>Man ist auch sehr flexibel, was m\u00f6gliche Komponenten angeht. Luftk\u00fchler sind bis zu einer H\u00f6he von 165 mm m\u00f6glich, wodurch man selbst die gr\u00f6\u00dften Luftk\u00fchler problemlos verbauen kann. Nat\u00fcrlich k\u00f6nnte man an dieser Position ebenfalls einen 120-mm-Radiator platzieren.<\/p>\n<p>Der Werksl\u00fcfter in der Front ist mit einem Steckmechanismus an seiner Position gehalten, der, wenn er einmal entfernt ist, nur sehr schwer wieder einzusetzen ist. Der werksseitig verbaute Front-L\u00fcfter befindet sich auch in einer H\u00f6he, dass er verbaute Festplatten effektiv k\u00fchlt und diese nicht einem langsamen Hitze-Tod aussetzt. Die 3,5\u201c-Festplatten werden werkzeugfrei in den beiden Caddys platziert, was einfach ist, denn diese werkzeugfreien Festplatten-Caddys sind wirklich gut: Auf der Unterseite ist ein Knopf und durch diesen \u00f6ffnet sich diese Halterung, damit man die Festplatte einfach hinein und wieder herausbekommt. Damit spart man sich das teilweise sehr schwerg\u00e4ngige Verbiegen der Halterungen anderer Marken. 2,5\u201c-Laufwerke lassen sich ebenfalls in diese Caddys schrauben. Hierf\u00fcr werden Schrauben und der passende Schraubendreher ben\u00f6tigt, aber man kann diese zus\u00e4tzlich zu den 3,5\u201c-Laufwerken auf der Unterseite der Caddys montieren. Somit bekommt man bis zu vier Laufwerke im Festplattenk\u00e4fig untergebracht!<\/p>\n<p>Weiterhin werden acht Gummiabdeckungen mitgeliefert, die man am Mainboard-Tray einsetzen kann. Mit ein paar ungew\u00f6hnlichen schraubbaren Steckern kann man hier m\u00fchelos zwei weitere 2,5\u201c-Laufwerke anbringen. Der Unterschied ist messbar, aber weit weniger dramatisch, als man es durch die Unterschiede in der L\u00fcfterfl\u00e4che erwarten k\u00f6nnte. Dazu ist das Enermax-Geh\u00e4use auch ein wenig lauter (39 dB bei 40% und 45 dB bei 100% L\u00fcfterleistung) und merklich weniger angenehm in der Handhabung.<\/p>\n<p>Komponenten der Oberklasse sind somit im Cooler Master MasterBox 500 ebenfalls nutzbar, aber hier w\u00e4ren ein paar zus\u00e4tzliche L\u00fcfter durchaus sinnvoll. Die oberste Leistungsklasse k\u00f6nnte durch eine Custom-Wasserk\u00fchlung unter Kontrolle gehalten werden, doch ist es hier schade, dass der obere Teil der Geh\u00e4usefront so abgeschnitten von der Umgebungsluft ist. Hier w\u00e4re es sch\u00f6n, wenn zumindest L\u00fcftungsschlitze um die Seite vorhanden w\u00e4ren, damit ein L\u00fcfter an oberster Position noch Zugriff auf zumindest etwas frische Luft h\u00e4tte.<\/p>\n<p>Mit der Montage einer 360-mm-AIO-Wasserk\u00fchlung oben war deutlich ein negativer Luftdruck im Geh\u00e4use zu bemerken; es wurde also durch alle \u00d6ffnungen, wie den Erweiterungsslots, Luft ins Cooler Master MasterBox 500 gesaugt. Das ist nicht unbedingt schlecht, denn das zieht beispielsweise durch die Erweiterungsslots auch frische Luft in Richtung der Grafikkarte, doch k\u00f6nnte es die Staubbildung im Geh\u00e4use beschleunigen. Herausstechend gut ist die Einfachheit des Einbaus \u2013 hier wird man durch viele angenehme Details unterst\u00fctzt und nie ist man ins Schwitzen gekommen, weil mal wieder etwas nicht geklappt h\u00e4tte.
