Review of Today’s Session
Today’s trade plan was simply to look for a sweep of Friday’s lows and look for a lower timeframe entry model. The European session gave a few early longs (recapped below), but it wasn’t until hourly EMA9 rejection failed into US pre-market that the big longs set up.
We got ES 56 points and NQ 275 points today - all entries alerted timely in the Discord and the hourly NQ long given live on video.
Great start of the week, all trades recapped below.
Setup Reviews
Frankfurt open - H1 set up failed continuation to initiate the first H1 EMA9 lower high.
That was this hourly setup - when continuation fails, price reverts to the trending EMA9.
After H1 EMA9 rejection, the M5 EMA50 wedge has to form to confirm that hourly EMA9 continuation is failing. That is initially the easiest to spot on H1, where price has to define rejection and a higher low for longs, or support and a lower high for shorts.
During US pre-market both indices set up rejections out of ‘looks above’.
NQ
ES
Both had undercut Friday’s lows, giving context for immediate hourly longs - and those would trigger above the red levels on the charts - as always, shared in the Discord group at 9AM, and discussed with members as the live video session started.
ES is always great with direct risk. Triggered and never looked back. Failed breakdown of Friday’s low, lose and reclaim level 3, push back to level 2, break out.
For NQ, we managed the trade on M5, and patiently waited for the hourly higher low.
Price pushed back to and through M5 EMA9, at which point I informed the group that backtesting M5 EMA9 and pushing higher would trigger the long.
Nobody expected what was next, but as always, we take our partials and enjoy the ride.
For those that miss the hourly breakout, the Root Timeframe instruction is clear: First M1 EMA9 Push model high probability, followed by the first M5 EMA9 higher low.
Here are two great trades we took live on video:
M5 EMA9 Push model set up into the M1 EMA50, as always (mathematical alignment)
And then just has to set up continuation into resistance.
That set up and we bought that too…
Ultimately, the hourly break out gave 275 points before exhausting into my key resistance for this week.
