It is with a heavy heart that we need to tell you that we are cancelling this year's BalticRuby(Unconf).

Due to some unfortunate events outside of our control, we were not able to properly (financially and legally) set up ticket sales early enough to ensure a successful event.

Organizing community based events is always a difficult endeavour, because a group of people need to find time and motivation besides their normal day job.

This year, with everything that is going on, in our industry, in the ruby community but also generally in the world, this has been even more challenging.

Still, we were confident until the end that we would be able to set up BalticRubyUnconf 2026 in Hamburg for success. Due to some individual decisions outside of our influence, we now must concede that it won't be possible and that cancelling this year's edition is the better decision before we put the whole thing at risk of becoming a financial disaster.

We will regroup and probably try again next year. We have already made some steps into the correct direction of providing a more sustainable and viable base for future conferences. If this will be an Unconf or another try for a BalticRubyUnconf, we are not sure.

We would like to thank all past Speakers, Sponsors, Visitors and Organisers, as well as all of this year's planned Speakers for their Contribution to Baltic Ruby's Legacy so far and hope to see you all at a future conference, be it Un, Baltic or otherwise.
