Ginger Snaps
The deliciously simple recipe after the cut.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger.
Directions:
1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a stand mixer.
2. Form mixture into balls and roll in granulated sugar.
3. Place on a slightly greased cookie sheet (I recommend Silpats) and bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
Tip:
For a slightly chewier cookie, cook for the minimum time. The opposite is true as well, cook the maximum time for a crisp cookie.
