Animal Science
and Research

Engineering controls for laboratory animal vivarium.

These complex laboratory research spaces contain a wide range of animals for research, including mice, rats, rabbits, birds, reptiles, canines, and primates, among others. Facility requirements about housing for the animals, sizes required to pen or cage them, odor mitigation, and air filtration to prevent contamination are just some of the concerns when planning out these niche laboratory spaces. Specialized air control systems and engineering controls are required to meet the needs of vivarium lab planners.

Research performed in animal laboratories can cover a wide array of applications. The effectiveness of treatments and medications, testing the effects of medical devices, and the creation of vaccines, are just some of the things that animals are useful for in the ever-evolving development of products for human and veterinary medicine. The safety of products

used in everyday life are tested to determine their effect on the health of individuals as well as their environment. The wide variety of uses for this research require tools specifically designed for the animal laboratory environment, to ensure that you experience optimum productivity, safety, and versatility.

Having the right equipment in your vivarium is integral to proper functionality and safety. It is important to make smart choices that provide the necessary conditions, which can also withstand the demands of the environment.

The AniGARD transfer station delivers superior performance in cleanliness, protection, and containment. Innovative air flow designs combined with a unidirectional HEPA-filtered airflow of ISO Class 4 (Class 10) conditions provides product protection and reduces or eliminates cage to cage transfer of contaminants. HEPA-filtered particulate free air is delivered to the work area and dirty air is pulled into the return air grills keeping room contamination to a minimum.

These transfer stations are loaded with features to make working in them easier and more productive. Mobile stands and optional electric and hydraulic lifts provide versatility and ease of use. A well-lit work area and low noise levels provide for an exceptionally comfortable work experience and a less stressful environment for animals.
