Preparing for Winter
Raising the Garden Shed, Lighting Fire, Preserving & Pickling the Last Tomatoes
In the month of November our Danish Homestead has turned from bright orange, to deep brown and lastly to frosty blue.
Meanwhile we have been working hard to get our new garden shed off the ground and closed off before winter. It took long hours, lots of help from family and working into the night, but in the end, Herluf finally managed to get it closed off.
While he worked on the garden shed I have been occupied by preserving the last of the season’s abundance, more specifically: Tomatoes. The plants had died down, but quite e few red and green tomatoes remained to be plucked, preserved and pickled.
We’ve made sure to light fires, outside and indoors to keep us warm and happy for this cold autumn month.
We hope you enjoy this small peak into our Danish homestead life.
Much love from us,
Herluf & Anne, of Baggebo

Such a peaceful video. It is really interesting to watch the building of the shed, to see how it comes together. The house looks so warm and cozy at this time of year. The evening photo of the house with the beautiful sunset is awesome!
You make kitchen work look so easy too! 💕
What a beautiful life. May you kindly share the process of preserving and pickling the tomatoes please? I didn't quite catch everything you placed in the jar and we are about to harvest tomatoes. Love from South Africa.
