One thing leads to another, and Loki finds himself working for SHIELD, trying seduce Pepper Potts in order to undermine Tony’s villainous schemes. Intended to be disconcertingly in-character given the premise, but you be the judge.

Tasks to complete:
As a team, you should complete the following tasks. You may work together to create things (which might help allow everyone to participate!), or create them individually – it’s up to you.  If you do work together make sure we can see evidence of everyone’s work. You can only complete each task once for points.

1) Write a minimum of 2000 words of fic – this can be one long fic, a collection of shorter fics or drabbles, a round robin played in your team comm – however you want to do it. (20 points)
2) Create a starter fic rec list for someone new to fandom – this should contain at least 15 recs and reasons for the recs. (15 points)

  1. I Shall Not Want Honour In Heaven by copperbadge : All of Sam's works are worth a read but this is one I'd particularly like to highlight because I feel it often gets overlooked. This is Peggy's life after the war.

  2. Meet the Avengers by TakemylovedowntoVioletHill : A short read but one that is a really good character story about each Avenger and their fans. It really shows the personality of each member and how they deal with their fans.

  3. Captain Fraudulent by Ellidfics : This is a great story that focuses more of Captain America but all the Avengers are there and it shows how Cap comes to terms with the 21st Century and how each Avenger helps him. Its really an epic with two parts at 65,000 words plus there is a follow up called Captain Fraudulent: The Outtakes that is up to 24 different stories.

  4. Coulson Lives, but the Avengers might be the death of him. by NiennaNir : Another series of fics that is very well written and each story highlights different characters and how they interact and become the Avengers and come to live together.

  5. War Stories by thrace_adama and workerbee73 : It gives a nice insight into the whole Budapest scenario with Clint and Natasha. It flashes back and forth between the battle of Manhattan and the shwarma dinner afterwards to the scenes from the past. Clint/Natasha centric, but done so in a way that doesn't make them too soft to be assassins.

  6. The God Who Cried Wolf by starhawk2005 : It is a beautiful, sexy piece. The whole series is great, but this one in particular goes into Loki's reasoning for why he was compelled to do the things he did in New York and the consequences of sleeping with a man that just tried to kill New York City. Loki and Jane may not be a common pairing, but the way she writes them makes me believe that it could work.

  7. To Rust by dance_at_bougival :It put an extra scene in Thor and fleshes about a bit the complex past between Loki and Sif. It has a nice balance between compassion and pain.

  8. Persistance by cat_77 :It's a good, solid gen fic where the team has to come together to fight in a gladiator-styled event by force. The combat scenes are very interesting in this one.

  9. The Weight of Family by shiny_n_new : This is a nice Thor and Loki fic where it goes into all the consequences of Loki's actions in Thor 2 on a very emotional level, both from Loki's point of view and the way everything tears at Thor.

  10. The Hangman's Hands by Mercurie : This is my favorite Lokane fic ever, even though there hasn't really been any romantic moments between the two. Sadly, it hasn't updated in over a year, but it must be read by every Lokane fan.

  11. Ever I Saw by Baroness Emma : Tony and Pepper's story told in firsts. An interesting and well executed concept.

  12. Fire in the East by Maat : I shipped Thor/Jane before Lokane, and this is undoubtedly one of the most powerful oneshots I've ever read. (This one's a tearjerker, just to warn you.)

  13. Ready, Fire, Aim 'Verse by gyzym : Situation Normal: All Fucked Up is up there on my list of favorite Avengers fic. The absolute highlight is Rhodey fanboying over Bucky Barnes.

  14. Relief by infiniteeight : If you want to delve into the world of comic/movie crossovers, this is one of my favorites. This is very much a Hawkguy fic, with the supporting cast of Avengers being their Marvel 616 selves. It is Coulson that brings in the MCU elements. The inclusion of Lola is a particularly nice touch. (The fic being written before Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered.)

Review of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. SPOILER ALERT

There are 13 episodes so far into Season 1 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and none more powerful than Episode 11; The Magical Place. In the previous episode Agent Coulson was kidnapped by Raina and this episode opens with the team and Agent Hand searching for Centipede. We then see Coulson remembering Tahiti and coming to in custody of Centipede and inside a machine intending to make Coulson remember how he came back from the dead. It falls to Raina who uses Coulson's doubts against him so that he chooses to use Centipede's machine to discover what really happen in Tahiti. While all this is going on Skye who was kicked off the plane does an AMAZING impression of May and is the one who finds where Coulson in by following the money. When May and Skye find Coulson he is begging to die, with the help of the machine he finally realizes that he did die and he remembers a robotic machine operated on his exposed brain. In the end Couslon goes to see Dr. Streiten who tells him that Nick Fury was the one who ordered Coulson be brought back, while he himself was against it. Coulson was not dead for 8 seconds or 8 minutes but months and Fury moved heaven and earth for Coulson to be brought back to life. By the end of the many surgeries Coulson had become someone who lost the will to live and the memory of Tahiti was placed with the brain surgery to try to give him a better memory. After the Avengers movie and all through the beginning of the season Coulson's mantra of "Its a magical place" has had everyone wondering what happened. We see the team coming together and growing and maturing and with a spectacular hour we finally found out what happened to Coulson to bring him back.

7) Create a picspam with a minimum of 6 images that crosses over one of our allowed sources with a different fandom (one we don’t usually allow). Provide a written summary (minimum 50 words) of how the crossover would work.  (15 points)

Another alien species attacks and tries to conquer the Earth, leaving a scar in the fabric of space and time. From an alternate dimension, characters from well-known and beloved fairytales are able to pass through. Some are wicked with their own agendas to keep from having to return to the Enchanted Forest; others are heroes who join forces with the Avengers. Made by starianprincess

The whole news room is scrambling to cover what is already being called The Invasion of New York. Will and Mac are arguing over covering tabloid topics of aliens and superheroes. Don and Eliot are already out on the street. Jim is more concerned with the giant flying aircraft carrier that seems to have appeared out of nowhere. Maggie, meanwhile, is trying to get a hold of Neal because, while this might not be Bigfoot, this is right up his alley. But Neal is nowhere to be found. Made by cardboardcornea
