My shoulder's definitely going to scar, but the doctor says I should wait to go back to work until I'm fully recovered.

Buuuuut I've fallen behind on my customers so I'll be back to work tomorrow. Oh, and Colonel? Garfiel wants to know why you aren't returning his calls. He very much wants to speak with you.

The seat was cold against her thighs. Winry shivered as the chill reached her spine. Dread and anticipation swirled within her, and it took everything she had in her to keep from tapping her toes. Instead the girl fidgeted with her thumbs, and kept glancing at those glass hospital doors. It wasn't that she was embarrassed that he'd see her only in the hospital gown, or that he'd see her with her hair down and unbrushed. No. It was because Ed was going to be angry when he arrived. Winry was almost sure of it. Angry, upset, furious, disappointed, perhaps even hurt. And she hated seeing him like that.

The girl gave another quick glance to those glass doors before starting to chew on her thumb nail.

Winry stood in front of her room waiting. She had gotten dressed out of her school uniform and was wearing some casual clothes. A black tank top, jeans, and a simple black belt. A denim jack hung in her arms if it got chilly later on that night. What was taking Ed so long? Wasn't he the one who wanted to get ice cream in the first place? The girl checked her watch. No. It'd be another five minutes. Then he'd be late.
Why was she acting like this was important to her? He was just a friend. This was just a trip to the ice cream parlor. Nothing more. Did she want it to be more? No! Of course not... Okay yes. Yes she did. She'd be fooling herself if she thought she didn't. Tap, tap, tap went her foot on the floor. Where was he?

She was on her hands and knees. Scrubbing. Winry angrily washed the tiled floors of a school hall. She had fallen asleep in Fashion History Class. A class she only took so she could nap in it. Unfortunately for her, Yeager had caught her sleeping. Thus here she was. With a dirty rag and a bucket of soapy water. The blond had her hair pinned up so it didn't get in the way, and her clothes showed a decent amount of skin. Winry wore a zip-up top that revealed her midriff, and black matching shorts.
Well, it's not like she was going to wear jeans and a sweater while working.

A baseball game.

Of course this wouldn't take place until all the planing has been done. It's just Lloyd and I were talking about it, and I wanted to see if anyone else was interested. The game would be held in one of Risembool's fields, because we have plenty of space.

What a nice day! The sun was shining, but there were a few light and fluffy clouds to provide bits of shade when needed. A great day for a small excursion to the pond. In her hands was a plastic tackle box and two fishing polls. Winry had already bought a few choice containers of bugs from a bait store, and was holding that too. What was left to carry was the wicker picnic basket and an old plaid blanket.

I hate this thing!

It's not like I want to tell everyone these things. Like how I walked into a wall today, or how I was stupid enough to wear white when it rained. Or that I wear boxers more than panties. I especially wouldn't want anyone to know that the other day my skirt got caught in someone's automail elbow and I was walking around all day with a tear in it.

So embarrassing.

So I don't have rabies! What now, rats? But I still have those stitches in my leg. The doctors want me to use crutches until Thursday so I don't pop them.

I came home to something I'd like to share:

Hey, Winry,

I know I'm not exactly the best about -much of anything, really. And writing something like this is probably the lowest thing on that list. But anyway, there are some things that I've wanted to say to you that I just don't know how to say in person. And I still don't know if I'm doing it right, but this is my sixth attempt at this letter and I'm running low on parchment as it is, so. Here goes nothing.

I love you, you already know that. I say it often enough, sometimes I wonder if I say it too much. If not for you, I wouldn't be whole. That can pretty much be taken figuratively and literally. You've given me an arm, and a leg to stand on, and you've also given me the strength to face each day with my head held high. Even when I'm at my worst, you're always there to help me get back on my feet, and I'm truly thankful for you. Even before we got together, you were my best friend, and you still are. I'm glad that even though our relation shit has changed drastically, we can still be best friends as well.

I know we're still too young to be thinking about something so long term, but I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You mentioned moving in together a while ago, and I really would love to. I only ask that you be patient with me. There are still things that I have left to do, and your support and patience so far has been great. I do apologize for making you wait so long, I really do feel horrible about it. It isn't fair to you at all, and I'm sorry.

I don't know how long I'll be in Drachma. And I can't give you any major details, but I'll be home as soon as I'm able.

Anyway, I hope you like the ear rings. Admittedly, I'm not the best when it comes to picking out things like jewelry. I don't know, I thought they'd look good on you. Whatever shut up.
