Hello, I'd like to self-plug and point everyone using this package to sioyek-dev - a new Sioyek AUR package that bundles the libmudpf version and "just works." No more libmupdf crashes!

Dominik commented on 2026-01-18 18:15 (UTC)

libmupdf was updated to 1.27.0-2. It would be great you could update the package.

oriba commented on 2025-09-29 00:59 (UTC)

With that package, the resulting installation causes sioyek to crash.

@aexl pls pin @MorganDGK comment on the need to rebuild the package after updating libmupdf. It seems a rather recurrent issue.

Funnily enough, the package misses the gcc dependency. (Yeah, it's not pulled through gcc-libs.)

Seems like the package is out of date. Sioyek seems to crash whenever going through the search functionality.

Not sure how useful this is for other people but I'm using the following patch to allow for whitespace in SyncTex file paths.

Anyone coming here with sioyek: error while loading shared libraries: libmupdf.so.24.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory., just rebuild as suggested and reinstall.

With aurutils: aur sync --rebuild sioyek, then pacman -S sioyek.

@aexl Isn't this a binary? So we are not able to compile this ourselves, however I could be wrong here 😅 Reinstalling the package did not work for me. Nonetheless, the updated package provided by you works great again. Thank you for your time 🙂

aexl commented on 2024-06-16 01:33 (UTC)

If this happens, it is most certainly enough to recompile sioyek.
