The Lawson Legacy: Generation 2.2

At the end of our last update, the generation two heir, Britannicus Lawson, had just married his college sweetheart, Castor Nova. You might remember him from a million other legacies ;)

We begin this time with a shot of the happy newlyweds snuggling on the matrimonial bed. Of course, we all know what comes next...

Baby making time! You don't get much time to sit around enjoying newly-married life if you're a Legacy heir!

Castor found himself knocked up straight away. If Sims have fertility levels, he's definitely a great Legacy spouse.

With the money Castor brought into the house, the Lawsons finally got a small pool, a lake and what will eventually become the family graveyard. Unlike the second generation, the third generation of the Lawsons are unlikely ever to have to scrimp and save.

This is Britannicus' concentrating face. Why?

Because chess is serious business, yo.

With the second generation heir back home, it was about time Amelie got around to having her portrait painted. With Mary busy trying to max out all of her skill points, she was the obvious choice as artist.

Even imminent fatherhood wasn't enough to persuade Brit to stop admiring himself.

And, speaking of fatherhood, Castor was beginning to learn what exactly that was going to entail.

It seemed like as good a time as any for Britannicus' portrait to be painted as well.

The finished products. I didn't realise that my fancy easel meant that a frame would be added to the picture.

Britannicus and Mary were both constantly rolling the want of buying an orchard tree, so I finally succumbed and bought them an apple tree. So far, all it's done is collect bugs and need pruning.

Time for Mary to get old :(

Apparently Castor really isn't fond of birthdays.

One last look at Mary's pretty face before she becomes an elder.

Not bad, actually! She looked really odd with grey eyebrows, so I left them red.

Even with his firstborn due at any moment, Brit was still big on lazing about the house at every opportunity. Nice to see he hadn't changed too much since his childhood.

Now that she was an elder, Mary retired. Her full salary was no longer as important, and it allowed her time to work on her lifetime want.

It's a girl!

The first baby of generation three is Caitlen Lawson – with Britannicus's eyes, Castor's hair colour and one of her fathers' skin tone – there's very little difference between my light default and the custom skin that Britannicus has.

With Mary now an elder, she and Amelie threw an anniversary party. All of the kids turned up to celebrate.

Benjamin showed off his contrary side by chowing down on crisps when a family meal had been prepared and served.

Castor wasn't allowed much time to recover from the birth. In other words? POP!

And, as babies are boring, we scoot straight forward to Caitlen's birthday.

I don't think I'll ever grow tired of sparkly flying babies.

She was a real cutie...

...Except for when she was chucking tanties, that is. Meet the first one-nice-point child of the Legacy!

Oddly enough, despite her being prone to tantrums as a toddler, the lack of nice points hasn't really been evident much at all. If I were to choose an aspiration on those stats, rather than roll one, she'd definitely be a Popularity or Romance Sim.

A close up on Amelie's pretty face can only mean one thing. Yep, time for her to become an elder as well.

She looks remarkably good, largely courtesy of her custom skin, which seems to lack wrinkles. I'm sure Amelie doesn't mind ;)

She and Mary have a second anniversary party, and Amelie fulfils her lifetime want. The first achieved want of the Legacy!

Autonomous tummy rubbing makes me squee every time :)

It's a boy! Claudius Lawson – Castor's eye colour and Britannicus's hair colour.

Once again, Castor is pregnant only hours after the birth of his last child.

It's nice to know that Amelie will never be too old to splash in puddles.

Birthday time for Claudius!

The eyes are a little alarming, but Brit and Bree both grew into their massive eyes, so I won't worry just yet.

It was also time for Caitlen to become a child.

She's fairly cute, but the duck mouth is a little worrying.

New pet? No – I still haven't decided whether I'll get ridiculously upset if a dog or cat dies in game. This was actually a local cat that Amelie played with out front. It invited itself in to sit on the windowsill. It was an especially pretty cat, so I didn't mind.

BABY TIME

Another boy. Christopher Lawson – Castor's eyes and Britannicus's hair.

NO.

Soon after Christopher was born, it was Claudius's birthday.

Those eyes are still pretty giant, but overall he's cute.

I decided upon one final pregnancy. This was the only time it took several goes for Castor to get knocked up.

Um... oops? I couldn't resist.

Mary finally made it to her lifetime want. Maxing out all of the skills takes so much longer when you don't have the childhood, teen and college years to help you out.

Mary also wins the prize for the most bizarre fear I've ever seen – and that's including the Sims who are afraid of their dead loved ones becoming zombies.

Time for another birthday – Christopher's turn this time.

He looks a lot like Claudius, so I gave him very different hair.

There's no real reason for this photo beyond the fact that I think the kiddie hugs look disgustingly cute.

Britannicus rolled the want for a bird cage several times, so I finally gave in. He then was completely uninterested in acquiring a bird to go in the cage, so I didn't bother stocking it. Claudius, however, quickly rolled a bird want soon after becoming a child, so I let them get a cockatoo. They harass the poor thing 24/7 if I don't stop them doing so. Mary's the worst – if I look away for a moment, she's over there playing with the bird... whose name, by the way, is Birdbrain.
