If anyone would like their character to draw Jam's attention and get some creepy dream action, feel free to tell me here! :D I'm also on AIM at the p0rn nun and MSN at probablysomething@hotmail.com if that's easier.

The short of it is that Jam can put himself into someone else's dream. Once he's there he can shape it around himself anyway he likes. This includes anything from merely lending a guiding hand to let the dreamer recreate memories, to creating a nightmare from scratch of his own imagining. The former he tends to use to gather information about his target first. It feels natural enough to the victim, and they should wake only with a sense of nostalgia. (Or otherwise, if it's not a pleasant history they're reviewing.)

When Jam gets down to the meat of his hobby though, it's a different story. He usually has a goal in mind (make the hooker down the street drown herself before Christmas!, or even just, Give the baker schizophrenia!) when he finally begins. It's an extremely slow process though, and his victim may not even begin to remember any of their dreams until a month of two of having them has passed. Depending on the consistency of the dreams though, he's pretty quickly able to implant at least a general mood in his target's waking hours.

Obviously this is a really versatile ability, and what happens to a character is entirely dependent on what the player wants for them. It's entirely feasible that Jam might even get bored and give up halfway through, to prevent any lasting/serious psychological damage to the character.

A list of things Jam could feasibly inflict on someone!

Depression (from mild blues to suicidal tendencies)
Anxiety
Phobias
Dislike of someone/something that used to be a favorite
Resurfacing of repressed/forgotten memories
Pretty much anything on this list, at varying degrees

AND IF HE (you) REALLY WANTED, HE COULD DO RIDICULOUS THINGS TOO. Make someone gradually decide they're secretly the opposite gender, give someone a passionate love of [insert weird object here], etc.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT. If you want Jam to do anything to your character, feel free to hit me up! And all you really have to do to get him to take an interest in your character is talk to him with them. He'll be making mental notes on everyone he comes into contact with, but he won't do anything unless a player wants it to happen. (Especially because all of the effects are up to the player to play out. 8|)
