I was walking around the motor home lot when Marcus called.

“Hey, Sar?”

“Yeah, what’s up?”

“How are you? How are things?”

“I’m fine. Things are fine.”

“Awesome. I need a favor.”

“Of course you do. What can I do you for?”

“You can do me. But, actually I need a recipe.”

“Okay. Yeah?”

“Your quiche.”

“Oh. No problem. I’ll send you the dish in a sec.”

“Thanks. I’m actually going to make ice cream too in that mixer thing you have. I found the directions.”

“Oh! I want a scoop.” I whined.

“I think it will melt.” Marcus laughed “Thanks sweety, talk to you later.”

“Bye.”

I started typing the recipe for Marcus, because I completely knew it from memory, when my phone was grabbed from my hands.

“What the fuck?” I screamed loudly. I couldn’t make out the the thief in the darkness, but I saw the reflection of light as it was thrown and landed on the ground. Nearly reflexively I got down to my knees, searching the damp ground lifeline. In borderline hysteria I started panicking “Where is it? Ohmigod, where is it?” When I finally saw it a few feet away, I scrambled towards it. But the mysterious person got there first and picked it up. Me and this person were not going to be on good terms.

“You really thought no one would find out?”

Of course. I thought to myself when I recognized the voice. Only someone really stupid would get between me and my phone.

“Find out what?”

“That you’re a mole.”

“That’s retarded. What the hell?”

“I heard your call, can I see what you were sending?”

So fucking stupid. “Fine.”

I saw his expression change. I snatched my phone “Asshole.” and walked away, turning on my music. I went back inside and closed the door. While I was getting a drink I almost jumped out of my skin at the sight of a shadow where none should be. Did he follow me in? Well, screw that. I wasn’t going to justify an acknowledgment. I sat down at my computer and started doing stuff. Out of the corner of my eye I could see him sitting down. Seriously? I continued focusing on my computer and listening to music while playing Solitaire. Ironically, Swarley still had the top score. After about an hour I got a call on Skype from Marcus. I muted the sound and answered the call.

“Shhh.” I mouthed.

“What’s going on?” he asked.

I grabbed a pad and pencil. “You know that episode of Gilmore Girls” I wrote “When Tana followed Rory into her suite like a lost dog?”

Marcus nodded. “Yeah…”

“It’s happening to me!”

“A dog followed you?”

“No. A person.”

“Who?”

“Denny.” I scribbled, underlining it twice.

“That’s weird. Explain later?”

I nodded and mouthed. “I love you.”

“Love you too.”

I got bored and put away my computer.

“Are you going to acknowledge me?” I heard.

I smiled victoriously “You spoke first.” I may have been playing the quiet game in my head.

“I did. I’m sorry.”

I crossed my arms angrily.

“Really. It was an honest mistake.”

“No it wasn’t. An honest mistake is one that’s unintentional. You were trying to accuse me of something that’s not just bad, but not even true.”

“No, really. I’m sorry. I jumped to conclusions, it wasn’t personal.”

I chose to rely on my killer reflexes. It took only a second for me to burst into tears. As I expected he was a typical guy and totally uncomfortable. “I’m sorry. Really.”

I stupidly enough had gotten past faking and was really crying. “I’m sorry. I just really miss my life.”

“What do you mean?”

“I haven’t seen anyone I love in months. I love being here, but it’s really draining being with people who hate me.”

“I don’t hate you! Seriously, I’ll prove it. Give me your phone number.”

I wrote it down on a piece of paper. “So what?”

“So we’re friends.”

I rolled my eyes. That was so dumb, like adding someone on facebook.

“Why isn’t your husband with you?”

“He’s in a show.”

“Do you want him to be here?”

“Of course.”

“Does he like that you’re doing this?”

I shrugged. “I guess.”

“Do you miss your daughter?”

“A ton.”

I nodded. Didn’t I just say that? “Look, I’m exhausted.” I lied “Do you mind…?”

After he left I texted Marcus the entire story. To which he responded That’s actually kind of nice. How exactly was it that I was married to literally the nicest guy imaginable?

This mix pairs together with the story I wrote awhile back when someone says something awful about Sarah. She refuses to say anything, but these are the songs that apply to her as she is fraught with doubt and hurt but turns that around into spirit and passion to prove people wrong. Finally got around to locking all of my previous posts so I can officially be a friends only journal.

Friends is in quotes for 2 reasons. The more important being that you obviously don't have to actually be my friend! There's just a few requests.

You must: Have something in common with me.
You cannot: Be a serial killer or some other kind of evil person. Be mean or judgmental. Be non-human.
Expect to see: Race reviews, story excerpts, icon posts, reflections on my life, epic chats with my BFFL, Vivian.
