Cause the Problem, Sell the (Fake) Solution

GMOs help cause this and cannot help fix it

 
 
As climate chaos worsens, over most of the world drought tolerance will become an ever more critical trait for food crops. Conventional breeding on a regional basis for agroecological horticulture is the great need and is proven to be the only framework which is effective. Industrial agriculture is doomed to collapse for any of all of its many intrinsic fatal flaws: Fossil fuel dependency; fossil water dependency; fossil phosphorus and potassium dependency; soil toxification, malnourishment and physical erosion; the destruction of the genetic base of crops; the rising strength of pests and diminishing possibilities for combatting them; global heating which suppresses more yield for every degree of temperature rise; the general collapse of the ecology upon which monoculture agriculture is completely dependent. Corporate crop varieties geared to commodity production are developed for a system which has no future and offers no guidance for what needs to be done.
 
Even within the industrial commodity framework conventional breeding is proven to be superior to genetic engineering in every way, especially where it comes to agronomic traits like drought tolerance. Here the record has been clear for many years: Conventional breeding works and GM does not.
 
As is typical, most governments have not listened to the facts or conformed to reality, and so subsidies, regulatory approvals and mainstream media propaganda campaigns have emphasized GM drought tolerance as yet another way GMOs are going to “feed the world”, however much of a lie that is in detail and overall.
 
GM-based drought tolerance has been a special feature of the propaganda for the Monsanto-Syngenta-Gates Foundation colonial assault on Africa. Several African governments have approved these corporate products for cultivation in spite of their proven agronomic inferiority and socioeconomic and ecological malignity.
 
So it’s a significant victory for food sovereignty, democracy and deep ecology that the South African government has rejected Monsanto’s application to commercialize one of its so-called “drought tolerant” products:
 
“After more than 10 years of battling Monsanto’s “bogus” drought tolerant maize project, the African Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) has welcomed the decision by the Minister of Agriculture, Ms Thoko Didiza, upholding the decision by the Executive Council: GMO Act and the appeal board to reject Monsanto’s application for the commercial cultivation of its triple-stacked “drought-tolerant” GM maize seed.
 
This landmark decision is a win for the ACB and other civil society organisations on the continent that have resisted the introduction of these GM varieties in South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
 
The Minister’s decision was made following the failure of the GM varieties to increase yield under drought conditions during repeated field trials in South Africa.”
 
The notion of “drought-resistant GMOs” is one of the most common PR scams found in pro-GMO propaganda. Along with similar hoaxes like golden rice and the GM Kenyan sweet potato, the purpose of the drought-resistant GMO trope is to misdirect attention from the fact that GMOs were created for no reason other than to sell poison. The two kinds of GMOs which actually exist on a significant economic level are those tolerant of herbicides, and those which generate their own Bt insecticidal poison in every plant cell. These also consistently fail in the field.
 
Drought-tolerance, on the other hand, along with traits like real pest and disease resistance, salt tolerance, improved nutrition, and improved nitrogen uptake, is solely the province of non-GM conventional breeding. This breeding, like any other, builds upon the accumulated work of thousands of years of farmer breeding, a collective human heritage. This status was reinforced in the 20th century, as all significant modern crop breeding was done using public money. Anything corporations do with this heritage is at most a minuscule contribution to a monumental and ongoing collective human project. That’s part of the reason it’s morally and rationally impossible for seed patents to have any legitimacy.
 
At best modern commodity breeding is a person standing on the shoulder of a giant. This “at best” is 100% within the realm of non-GM conventional breeding. A “drought-resistant” GMO, on the other hand, is nothing but a drought-resistant conventional variety which has one or more of the poison-enabling transgenes inserted. Thus we have the conventionally drought-resistant variety with an added Roundup Ready and/or Bt trait extraneously added. This then fraudulently is called a “drought-resistant GMO.”
 
The corporate GMO propaganda sounds especially bogus when we take into account the fact that of all economic sectors the industrial agriculture/food system is the primary driver of the climate crisis. Any big corporation, especially an agribusiness concern, which offers any sort of product touted as part of climate mitigation or adaptation, is engaging in straight disaster capitalism, seeking to profit off the crisis they themselves take the lead role in driving and having caused in the first place.
 
They [agribusiness] cause the problem [industrial agriculture is #1 driver of the climate crisis which is driving changing chronic drought and extreme drought events], then want to sell you the solution [drought tolerant maize], which doesn’t even work [the technology fails to produce greater yield under drought conditions] and is harmful in itself [as a typical GMO it drives escalated pesticide use; drives the crisis of antoibiotic resistant bacteria (ABR) through its use of a antibiotic resistance marker in the development process, as well as contributing to herbicide-driven ABR ; GM-driven mutations are never legitimately tested for safety].
 
Such “solutions” based on profit-seeking product and hi-maintenance technology also work to reinforce the technocrat ideology, that drought and farmer dependency aren’t socioeconomic and political problems but purely technical ones to be solved only by technology deployed by technocrats. But again this is precisely the mindset that has caused and driven the crises all along. No part of this framework can ever be anything but counterproductive and destructive, just as there can be no constructive action which doesn’t include rejecting and breaking free of this framework.
 
 
This particular example is typical of the overall economy and civilization which causes the climate crisis and general ecological crisis, then wants to sell you the solution of “green” capitalism, green hi-maintenance tech, technocratic carbon-trading schemes and “carbon neutral”, “offset”, “zero net carbon” regimes. These are solutions which don’t work (for over thirty years they’ve been deployed in various places and invariably are proven to be failures and often scams; overall emissions keep rising and accelerating their rate of rise, atmospheric carbon keeps rising and at increasing rate, deforestation and ecocide continue to rampage, often with the direct encouragement of climate policy as in the case of the Paris accord’s drive to accelerate deforestation by escalating subsidies for burning of wood pellets for electricity, biofuel, and heating*, aka the “biomass” scam/atrocity; plus the whole concept of “industrial renewables” is a fraud in that it remains completely dependent upon a fossil fuel foundation) and are harmful in themselves (industrial fake-renewables directly require massive mining destruction, poisoning of water and the environment, and then the electricity is put to harmful uses; hydroelectric generation is founded upon the enslavement of rivers and massacre of river ecological communities, most notoriously wiping out salmon; the whole concept is designed to prop up the inherently ecocidal economic system).
 
We see the overall recursive pattern. From the grandest “Green New Deal” perspective to the nitty-gritty detail of a particular product like Monsanto thirst-corn, this system offers nothing but malign scams designed to prop up profitable cancer/growth capitalism and herd the sheep away from real ideas and real work for the good.
 
There’s an endless number of such scams. They cause the problem then want to sell you the snake oil, while slandering and where possible forcibly suppressing the real cure. In the case of the climate crisis this means:
 
End all industrial emissions; stop destroying carbon sinks; allow all natural sinks to resume their natural ranges.
 
Food has to be grown on the basis of agroecology and distributed in accord with food sovereignty.
 
All else is a lie.
 
 
*Heating is done effectively in a low-impact way through passive solar and using the underground as a thermostat. Industrial electricity and fuel are inherently ecocidal, there is no sustainable or “eco-friendly” way to produce or consume them, we don’t need them, and would be better off spiritually and socioeconomically without them.

The Zombie Climate of Civilization

Here’s the kind of renewable ecocide the mainstream climate movement loves

 
 
Why did the mainstream climate movement fail? To understand this we first need to understand what this movement was, where it came from, why it was confected, what it was really trying to accomplish.
 
Look in the corporate media and its “alt” followers and you’ll see a new surge of interest and excitement around the climate-industrial movement. With Greta Thunberg and Extinction Rebellion we have a new injection, a new brand, a new chic. This seeming rejuvenation of the hoary mainstream comes at the same time as new ideas are rising, as a small but growing movement of writers, activists, and scientists is saying that the mainstream movement has failed, that its ideology and goals were all wrong in the first place, that its forecasts always have been grossly distorted to the linear and optimist side which is why its forecasts so consistently are outstripped by events, and that the prescriptions of the mainstream are absurdly insufficient to meet the crisis as well as destructive in themselves.
 
From the perspective of ecological fact and all of modern history, what’s happening is nothing but the attempted resurrection and zombification of a corpse. Thunberg is being used as figurehead for the same old lineup of corporate NGOs while Extinction Rebellion, for all its direct action, is dedicated to kettling all action within the capitalist framework and the framework of making “demands” on the very governments driving the destruction as fast as they can as hard as they can. Indeed a modern government can be defined pretty well as a way to organize a society for the maximum destruction of the Earth.
 
So there’s our two big movements of the moment, both sheep-herders on behalf of the destroyers of the Earth. It’s clear that we have here yet another manifestation of the “reform” faction within the organized crime framework. Reformed ecocide, green ecocide.
 
It’s said to be above all a children’s crusade, but if these are children confronting neglectful, abusive parents (a mainstay of the new propaganda), these children certainly don’t reject or break with these parents or any aspect of these parents’ teaching and practice. This is most immediately obvious in the purely consumerist character of the ideology, “demands”, and actions of this movement.
 
We have zombie consumerist reformism in a world where all reformism is long since dead though its zombie adherents don’t know it yet. All for the inherently ecocidal-genocidal civilization.
 
 
It’s all based on the lie propagated by the IPCC that civilization still has a “carbon budget” (such capitalist-technocratic verbiage) to work with, when in fact civilization has been deep into the red for many years now. The debt keeps mounting and the bill is about to come due in full.
 
Throughout the thirty years of the climate movement’s existence, throughout the UNFCCC period, carbon emissions have continued to escalate, and have escalated at an increasing rate. Emissions will continue to climb rapidly because everyone (except for a few of us fugitive Earth First!ers and primalists), including the mainstream climate activists and virtue signalers, never will give up their worthless junk and their decadent luxuries and comforts. The carbon concentration will continue to skyrocket until the economic civilization collapses or destroys itself. No one, and least of all the mainstream movement, will do anything to stop the emissions. That’s why a fraud like Paris – based on fake numbers and whose goals are voluntary anyway – appeals to them so much. It gives them the fake feeling of “doing something” while not actually having to anything at all.
 
Thus the whole congregation keeps holy rolling with hymns to “1.5 degrees” (or the Paris-enshrined 2 degrees, depending on which establishment climate preacher one follows), dispensing the old snake oil (and of course palm oil). Yet reality of the paleoclimatic evidence says the last time the global atmospheric carbon concentration was above 400PPM, as it has been for several years now, the global temperature was 5-10 degrees higher than now. That much heating already is locked in, although temperatures will take some time to catch up to millions of years worth of carbon increase compressed into a hundred year deluge.
 
Civilization never will restrain itself, only the limits and counteractions of the Earth will forcibly restrain civilization by destroying it, if it doesn’t destroy itself first.
 
 
Almost all political and fake-political Americans agree with George Bush that “the American way of life is non-negotiable”. The American way of life: Extreme consumption, extreme production, extreme energy, capitalism, cancer-“growth”. Where it comes to the climate crisis they differ only on what kind of denial to make the basis of their propaganda: From straight de jure denial to various green-capitalist, “sustainable development”, “green growth” scams. These all boil down to the same homicidal-suicidal denial. This is because they would rather die and bring down all life with them than give up “the American way of life”.
 
 
The mainstream climate movement adheres to a basic technocratic-authoritarian ideology:
 
1. Statism: The movement must supplicate before governments. That’s what they mean by “make demands”. Everything must be thought and done within this official hierarchical framework.
 
2. Scientism: The reason to become active for the climate is not for any earthly biological, spiritual, aesthetic, moral reason, but because Big Science says so. Indeed, from the rhetoric of movement cadres one often gets the sense that the very purpose of climate action and concern isn’t for the sake of the Earth or humanity, but to pay fealty and obeisance to Science. This dovetails perfectly with the real primary purpose of the climate-industrial movement which is to prop up productionism and capitalism for as long as possible and to divert all focus and action from the need for radical degrowth.
 
 
To be clear, the human wrangle over the climate crisis has nothing to do with science. It’s a political, ideological, spiritual, biological struggle. Nearly 100% of climate scientists hold the ideology that nothing about the Extreme Energy Civilization should be changed other than its mode of extreme energy production. Their solution, which they dispense to the broader movement, is to continue doing everything driving the ecological crisis, just a greenwashed version: Green capitalism, green cancer (“growth”), Keep Shopping, Keep Driving, more hi-maintenance tech but “better”, keep generating extreme ecocidal energy but in a fake-“renewable” way. Look up anyone’s prescription. Most infamously, the sainted James Hansen is well embarked upon his new career as a nuke shill. Another “hero” turned buffoon.
 
This movement touts only capitalism because they really only want to save capitalism, so the only solutions they recognize are “solutions” within the capitalist/productionist framework. These solutions are all lies. None will halt the onslaught, and almost all only add to the ecological and socioeconomic destruction.
 
 
And this brings us to the new brand of the old failed product. The Thunberg-figureheaded campaign is similar to a color revolution. The architects of the campaign are many of the same corporate NGOs which have engineered various forms of regime change campaigns around the world. It’s a corporate confection engineered from the top down and publicized by the corporate media, has zero grassroots character, zero bona fide movement character. It’s a classic astroturf. As many (including myself) have pointed out, if the corporate media is giving something good publicity, that’s proof it’s either an astroturf or at any rate tame and lame enough as to be no threat. Quite the contrary – it’s a means of co-opting and draining away any potential activist energy.
 
The reason for these new and highly publicized campaigns is that the corporate-NGO management of the climate-industrial movement is becoming worried by the accumulating failure of all of their own anodyne climate forecasts, the growing consciousness of the Sixth Mass Extinction Event and how it is accelerating, the growing consciousness that the climate crisis is just one element of a general ecological crisis being caused directly by the economic civilization which bestows such privilege on these persons and organizations, and the rising sense that the mainstream movement is running a giant con, or at best is woefully insufficient in every way, and that nothing short of radical degrowth and the dismantling of the Extreme Energy Civilization and industrial electricity generation as such can suffice. In response to all this they’re engineering this new propaganda campaign to renew faith in the Big Lie of green capitalism, green cancer, industrial renewables, electric cars, and the whole rest of the malign set which can be summed up as, green ecocide. They do it all because they’re part of the ecocidal civilization and act in accord with what this civilization is.
 
 
The militarist invocations which so easily slide from the tongues and pens of those spewing Green New Deal propaganda – we need a World War Two mobilization, a Manhattan Project (especially appropriate since so many of the climate crocodiles fetishize nukes) an Apollo campaign – are typical. Massive transformations, massive deployments, Tower of Babel, mitigate ecocide by doubling down on the direct cause of ecocide, all things must be big and bigger and biggest, all natives of the Big Lie that ecocidal industrial “renewable energy” can support itself when in reality it’s always completely dependent upon a foundation of fossil fuels. This is true both physically – the entire process, from extraction to transportation to the plastics and many other components of the machinery, requires fossil fuels – and economically – industrial wind and solar never have supported themselves economically any more than nukes have, they always require massive government subsidy. And where does the wealth for such subsidies come from? Only from the fossil-fueled Extreme Energy Economy. So it’s no surprise that those who promise to perpetuate this civilization but with renewables in place of fossil fuels surreptitiously intend to remain fully fossil-dependent.
 
And all this is in order to perpetuate all the ecological and social evils of the industrial/hi-maintenance-tech/production-consumption Extreme Civilization.
 
But this civilization is inherently ecocidal and genocidal. And as the rhetorical and ideological militarism of the WWII-fantasizing climate-industrial movement implies, this movement and corporate environmentalism in general are just another sect embracing the Dominion theology. To this “war on nature” mentality, the climate crisis is latent in nature’s war on humanity and civilization must respond accordingly. Only this can explain “environmentalists” who fantasize about multiplying the horrific mining destruction required for fake-renewables by many orders of magnitude, generating hundreds more vast death zones like the Alberta tar sands desolation, engulfing and poisoning such vast amounts of water as to make fracking look frugal, not to mention those who fetishize nukes and those most rabid psychopaths of all, those who want to deploy geoengineering, all this for something so tawdry and worthless as to perpetuate the soul-killing car-enslaved consumer society. Such insanity can only derive from the underlying lust to wage war on the Earth and dominate it rather than submit to Earth’s orchestration and harmonies. It can arise only from the most unreconstructed reactionary human supremacism. It can arise only from those who still see Earth, including the vast majority of humanity, as nothing but a resource mine and waste dump. This is the essence of the religion of the economic civilization, modern Mammon.
 
It’s perhaps best epitomized by this movement’s ongoing cult of the car, one of the pure evils of modernity. Ecologically, socially, in terms of public health, the car has zero redeeming qualities and is purely destructive. The existence of the car is incompatible with any meaningful climate solution or general environmental solution. But our mainstream “environmentalists” are committed to perpetuate the car and the propaganda of the car, “electric” or “hybrid” of course. But a fracking/coal/nuke/dead salmon car is just as bad as a gasoline car. Right there that proves their bad faith on every level.
 
Indeed, this type of mainstream extreme-impact corporate environmentalism is in many ways just what the de jure deniers say it is, just another thug faction seeking power.*
 
[*If you’re saying “We’re destroying the Earth and need to stop”, yet in the same breath you say “We need to continue doing exactly the same things we’ve been doing, just a ‘green’ version” which looks suspiciously like business as usual (and you prove you mean it by continuing every kind of gratuitous hi-impact action in your professional and personal life), that’s no vision at all. It’s no surprise that those who haven’t embraced the cult of green capitalism, the Green New Deal and the rest of the climate-industrial program sense a scam, nor that many of them come to doubt the existence of the crisis itself.
 
The fact is that the “conspiracy theory” of the rank-and-file de jure denialists (as opposed to the purely mercenary ones) is correct: Various corporate and political scammers are using the idea of the climate crisis to push their power agendas. Where the denialists go wrong is to take the illogical and false extra step of denying the climate phenomenon itself.
 
But this is actually a sign of stupidity, that one is incapable of simultaneously holding two simple thoughts:
 
1. The climate crisis is real and is driven by human action.
 
2. There are factions within the political class organizing political scams around it.]
 
 
No – all the themes and prescriptions of the climate-industrial movement are lies. Their hi-maintenance tech is what drives the crisis. Their capitalism. Their extreme production and consumption. Their extreme energy generation and use.
 
The only solution is much less technology, much lower technology, VASTLY less energy use. Anything which is hi-energy, hi-impact, and unnecessary (almost everything hi-energy and hi-impact is unnecessary) must stop. The rare things which are necessary, do them in the lowest-energy, lowest-impact way possible. Obviously we need to look to the pre-fossil era. Radical degrowth.
 
Needless to say things like the car are existentially incompatible and are not part of any seriously meant prescription.
 
Everything they touch is damaged or destroyed. Any intervention of theirs is destructive. The one and only good thing they can do is stop, refrain, leave alone, withdraw, go away. Any “solution” which involves adding intervention to intervention is a lie. It’ll do nothing but escalate the destruction.
 
 
There is one and only one set of three actions which can avert the worst of the climate crisis, if done in time. If not, and civilization certainly will not do them, then Earth’s kinesis will do its worst as it imposes all three by force. These three actions are:
 
End all industrial emissions; stop destroying carbon sinks; allow all natural sinks to resume their natural ranges.
 
All else is a lie.

The Tree-Human Carbon War

The natural forest is the most capacious terrestrial carbon sink, and therefore the most important land-based element which must be conserved complete. (See below for the necessary three points of climate action.*)
 
Trees grab vast amounts of carbon from the air. Through photosynthesis all plants remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and incarnate it as biomass. When plants die under natural conditions much of their embodied carbon is assumed by the forest soil, wetland muck, grassland sod.
 
Although some of the carbon embodied in a naturally decomposing tree is released again to the air as carbon dioxide, most is stored in the soil. The microbes and the rain work it deeper where it becomes organic humus, inert in the soil. Given the right conditions it eventually will be concentrated into coal. Fallen trees submerged under wetlands eventually turn to peat, storing nearly all their carbon.
 
The older the tree, the faster it grows. The bigger its biomass, the more rapidly it accrues more biomass. The older the tree, the more carbon it continues to remove from the atmosphere.
 
All this assumes an intact natural forest keeping the soil cool, with the trees living out their full natural life cycles.
 
 
This process of carbon removal and storage is necessary in order to maintain life on Earth. The sun’s luminosity has increased c. 30% since life began on Earth. This increased brightness over time is part of the normal life cycle of stars like Earth’s sun. Over this time span the Earth ought to have heated up dramatically.
 
Yet the geological and fossil record confirms that Earth temperatures have stayed relatively stable over three billion years. Indeed in recent geological time there’s even been a cooling trend.
 
This is prime evidence for the Gaia thesis, that the biosphere as a great collective organism regulates Earth’s temperature, among many other things where a stable value is necessary for life. Gaia has counteracted the increasing brightness of the sun. Her main mechanism has been the removal of carbon from the atmosphere and its storage in rock, in soil, and in biomass. The main mid-term mode of removal is the extraction and storage of carbon by plants, especially trees. Thus the atmospheric carbon concentration is now one ninth of what it was during the Carboniferous Period.
 
 
In the modern time this process forcibly was halted. Modern civilization embarked upon a campaign of total destruction of all natural forests and wetlands and their replacement by tree plantations where the trees are crops harvested for lumber and burned for electricity and heat.
 
This destruction causes a great hemorrhage of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. When wood is burned it directly releases its embodied carbon. Wherever the natural forest is destroyed this exposes the soil to the sun, which heats it and accelerates its microbial decomposition. The microbes now consume even the deeper humus, and all the sunk carbon is released. So burning wood is a double emission of carbon dioxide. The hemorrhage is even worse where a combined forest-wetland system is destroyed.
 
Thus the whole “carbon neutral” notion surrounding logging and “biomass” burning, beloved alike of both industry and the mainstream climate movement, is a scam greenwashing a monumental crime against the Earth including humanity. All attempts to justify industrial logging and destruction of forests are based on fraudulent accounting. This includes lies about the alleged superior vigor of fast-growing young trees (60-120 years old, the age range where most plantation trees are logged) in seizing carbon. This lie is standard dogma in corporate forestry. But as we said above, the science has found that the older the tree is, the greater the rate at which it’s incarnating carbon.
 
All these scams are not only refuted in detail, but the entire framework ideology is overridden by the fact that the great necessity is to sink carbon and keep it sunk. This imperative self-evidently is incompatible with the continuation of industrial logging and the destruction of natural forests and wetlands.
 
From this we can conclude that not only industry but any element of the climate-industrial movement which is willing to support any continued deforestation and any continued commodity exploitation of trees is a complete fraud and criminal where they claim to be acting to mitigate the climate crisis.
 
The fact that even its own mainstream environmental movement is ecocidal is just one piece of proof that modern civilization is intrinsically ecocidal. What does all this frantic destruction mean in this case, and in the context of the broader case of the wholesale burning of fossil fuels? The orcs are determined to release all the stored carbon. They want to restore Carboniferous conditions, which coupled with the much brighter sun would turn Earth’s greenhouse into a universal crematorium.
 
 
This frenzied berserker action seeks maximum entropy in the same way any waste heat does. Heat seeks to dissipate to maximum equilibrium, where the physical end state is the heat death of the universe. Only the storage of potential energy, such as the storage Gaia’s trees perform with carbon, conserves heat and therefore conserves the conditions necessary for life, which requires the recycling of heat.
 
We see that Homo necropolis, civilized hominids, in their derangement to release all the stored heat, are seeking universal death.
 
 
They systematically pump the air as full of greenhouse gases as they can, as fast as they can, with the goal of heating up the Earth as much as possible as fast as possible, generating as much climate chaos and ecological destruction as possible. Modern civilization has complete consensus on this campaign. (The fake climate movement’s purpose is nothing but to tout various scams, each of which boils down to the promise that the ecocidal binge can continue, that you can destroy the Earth and live on it too.)
 
The individual orcs and their institutional ideologies invent surface reasons why they’re doing it. Consciously the berserker civilization thinks only in terms of Mammon. Underlying this is their real idea: Earth is in the midst of the Ice Age. Civilization owes its existence to a brief interglacial interlude which it has christened the Holocene. But when civilization discovered it could release the stored carbon by burning all the fossil fuels and destroying all ecological carbon-storage function, it conceived the insane vision of reversing the course of climatic evolution, rolling back the Ice Age and restoring Paleozoic temperature conditions. This is the goal of civilization’s global binge of total ecocide.
 
But maximum entropy is maximum death. At the deepest level they know their nightmare-dream is impossible. Hominids are fragile creatures, and their civilization hopelessly so. Biophobia really is rooted in the human hatred of origins, which forcibly imply a forcible history which cannot be rolled back but must be traversed unto forcible death. That’s why humans hate the bacteria which created, sculpted, form and dominate them to this day. That’s why they hate the trees which were their proximate cradle. That’s why from the moment they came down from the trees, humans so often have chosen not to evolve according to nature but to break the vessels, sunder themselves, and go to war against their own homeland. It’s a war against the very idea of this origin, and a Numenorean resentment of the fact of death: The death of individual, species, and most of all the death of their vain idol, civilization. For this reason, since they must die, they hate all life and want universal death.
 
At the opposite extreme, the trees, cradle of humanity itself, remain tightly synched with the primal bacterial and fungal networks of Gaia. Although in one sense complex beings, the trees at the same time are among the most primal, part of the very pulse of Gaia.
 
 
So it’s the most primal beings against the most sundered, most alienated, most self-loathing and therefore omnicidal. So it’s life versus death in a war to store or spew carbon and therefore to control or debouch heat. The trees feel driven to conserve the heat. They want to save everyone, including us.
 
And that’s why the orcs always have hated the forest, always wanted to hack it down, and why even today’s climate movement prefers plantations to forest. But plantations hemorrhage, they don’t conserve. Thus all orcs want to replace the forest with the plantation, in mockery as well as expectation of suicidal victory.
 
 
 
 
*There is one and only one set of three actions which can avert the worst of the climate crisis, if done in time. If not, and civilization certainly will not do them, then Earth’s kinesis will do its worst as it imposes all three by force. These three actions are:
 
End all industrial emissions; stop destroying carbon sinks; allow all natural sinks to resume their natural ranges.

“New cities need to be built…”

Here’s a piece of idiocy from a thread at another blog, all too typical of one strain of fake “alternative” types:
 
There will be a lot more building in China….. new cities need to be built…..China will grow well for another 20 years no matter what.
 
Yes, because fossil fuels are infinite, and the biodiversity of the Earth is infinite and can be exterminated forever, and the ecology’s capacity to be devastated is infinite, and the Earth can be murdered forever. And all for the sake of the cancerous “growth” of the lowest vermin ever, materialistic Homo necropolis.
 
By now in the West there’s almost nothing left of humanity but psychopaths like this scribbler. Gaia will not mourn this species, soon to become the apex victim of its own mass extinction campaign.
 
It’s not me saying that destruction, or what psychopaths call “development”, has gone way too far. It’s the Earth saying it. And Gaia will insist on payment of all bills.
 
All their “infrastructure” was raped from the Earth and from peoples who never wanted any part of their vile Christian-scientistic “Dominion”. Including most people in the West itself.
 
And the most open, obvious secret is that it was all for nothing. Modern civilized grinders are the least happy, healthy, whole people who ever have existed. Including and especially the rich. Otherwise why are they such psychopaths who never can reach a point of relaxation and enjoyment of their wealth, but on the contrary must obsess ever more frantically on getting more, and especially on making sure that most people get less and less and less?
 
And the same dynamic goes for all Western grinders, at any level of the hierarchy.
 
And the same goes for all who ape Western civilization, including all who want drive globalization, and all who drive infinite cancer, aka “growth”.
 
And that’s the Hell they call “heaven” which they wish on everyone.
 
Thank Gaia that Earth can’t and won’t tolerate this abomination much longer.

The Coming Amazon Desert

What’s left of the Amazon rain forest is burning from hundreds of fires the orcs have set to clear space for ranching, timber plantations, mining and industrial farming. The lush paradise of water is burned out and transformed to arid pasture which withers to dust in a few years. The same scorched earth campaigns are underway in Southeast Asia, Africa and elsewhere. This final burndown is civilization’s final push to exterminate as many plant and animal species as possible and turn the entire terrestrial Earth into a desert. The Amazon and its companion rain forests are the lungs and the rainmakers of the world. Much of the Western hemisphere depends for its rain ultimately on weather patterns driven by the transpiration of the Amazon. Civilization’s goal is to stop the rain, permanently. And the destruction of the breathing forests, coupled with the heating and acid assault on the even more oxygenating ocean ecology, has the goal of rendering Earth’s system of oxygen, our very life breath, stagnant and failing. The elemental death wish, the fundamental urge to collective suicide at the heart of civilization, couldn’t be displayed more starkly, short of a joyous frenzied nuclear missile party, the 1914-style celebration of the launch of WWIII, which we may yet see as the entire US political class is lusting for it.
 
Civilization always has been an arsonist, modern civilization is the worst firebug of all. Starting in what used to be the Fertile Crescent, wherever civilization has gone it has turned fertility to desert. Thus the deserts have spread over the Middle East, southern Asia, Australia, North Africa, Latin America, the West and Great Plains of North America. The destruction of as little as 20% of what’s left of the Amazon – a few years more at this rate of arson – will render the residue untenable. The whole thing will wither to rainless dust.
 
Brazilian president Bolsonaro always has openly declared this to be his goal, to transform Brazil and as much of the hemisphere as possible into a desert. His voters, his supporters in Brazil, across Latin America, and in the US and European governments, all ardently embrace this goal. They prove it by their words and especially their actions.
 
This ecocidal goal dovetails with Bolsonaro’s proclaimed genocidal goal: What’s left of Brazil’s indigenous peoples must cease to exist, through forced assimilation or whatever other way is necessary. It’s clear that this government considers these natural peoples to be outside the law, and the orcs have gotten the message. Already hundreds have been murdered by ranchers, miners, loggers and other predators.
 
Just as with desert-driving ecocide, so this genocidal drive to generate a hominid desert is acclaimed or tolerated by a near-consensus among the civilized in Brazil, the US and elsewhere. Actions – of voters, media, officials – prove this.
 
The destruction of the Amazon and the rest of the world’s rain forest is the supreme destruction of the world’s greatest terrestrial carbon sink. To burn what’s left of the Amazon biomass would release as much carbon as all modern fossil fuel burning. Here again we see the kamikaze civilization’s drive to pump the atmosphere as full of carbon as possible, to heat up the Earth as much as possible, in a berserk lunge to perpetuate the interglacial Holocene (better called the Psychoticene) and stave off Gaia’s return to the normal colding, icing trend of the last several million years.
 
The Amazon is one of Gaia’s ultimate centers of biodiversity. Therefore it is a core target of the civilization’s campaign to exterminate all life except for elite hominids and their livestock, both of these groups to exist only in a genetically engineered eugenic form.
 
The goal is maximum destruction, maximum extermination of humans and other animals and plants, before the orc civilization is brought down by its own energy collapse, economic collapse, nuclear war; before Gaia’s Kinesis in the form of climate chaos, ecological collapse, pandemics and other retributions bring civilization’s omnicide-suicide ride to a close.

All Agree

The smug and gluttonous, they gorged and congratulated themselves.
 
They lectured: Each atom, shrink yourself while we expand. See how our maw gapes? See how we devour the final forests, the last grasslands, the last wetlands, the fugitive drops of water, the terminal elements of air? See how we kill and devour all before us?
 
They slapped green paint on all their black and red surfaces. The metal glared through.
 
They lied to children and sent them out to speak to children. The atoms must remain infants.
 
They taught that cancer is healthy when you rename it “growth” or “development”, and pandemics are salutary when you sow them for profit.
 
They preached that there is no Earth, only the image of it in your virtual bubble. Your connection to the Earth is your lifestyle whim. So choose to be “eco”! Choose to be “green”!
 
All individual choices are good insofar as they agree that the paramount purpose always is to drive production, drive capitalism, drive the economic civilization, exalt the American Way of Life. The only taboo, one must never want to stop destroying the Earth.
 
They exult in war, war is great, war is good, war is the highest purpose in life.
 
The beast has taught the atoms the necessity of the tyranny of production, of the economy, of total madness exulting in total destruction.
 
They have consensus, all agree that to stop industrial emitting, to stop destroying sinks, to stop exterminating life on Earth, would be to give up their only purpose in life. Their only difference, a purely superficial one, is what kind of con do they want to shill for: Anything from industrial renewables and electric cars to geoengineering and CCS to GMOs and fracking to simple denial. Goon Shot

I wish I’d seen this article in time to post this yesterday for the big anniversary of one of America’s greatest propaganda scams. By that I don’t mean the moon landing was a hoax. I mean that real or not, the moon landing’s primary purpose was to serve as a techno-triumphalist, anti-Gaian, Cold War propaganda stunt.
 
But perhaps the hype is starting to wear thin?
 
A recent survey of 3,000 kids found that being a YouTube star was a more sought-after profession than being an astronaut among kids in the US and the United Kingdom.
 
Children ages 8 to 12 in the US, the UK, and China were recently polled in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, which resulted in the first person to walk on the moon.
 
Kids in the US and the UK were three times as likely to want to be YouTubers or vloggers as astronauts, while kids in China were more likely to want to be astronauts.
 
It sounds like a good sign to me if kids in the US and UK are disregarding the system hype about “space travel”, a stupid worthless endeavor which never will accomplish anything except maybe to weaponize space. (If the fossil fuels last long enough and the missiles don’t fly first. But nuclear war looks more and more likely with every passing month.) Meanwhile it sounds like Chinese kids are still drinking the techno-necro kool ade.
 
The main reason the techno-cultists and their corporate funders always give for continuing with this white elephant is that someday it will be necessary to colonize other planets, with Mars the usual candidate. This always means, “Civilization must and should continue to murder the Earth unto the total end, but have no fear about humanity destroying its own basis for life, because we’ll simply move to another planet and commence destroying it.” (Basically the same rationale as for the geoengineering idea.) It’s a purely psychopathic, omnicidal mindset of hatred for all that lives, and all proponents of space travel share it.
 
So much for the real purpose of the idea and the moral-spiritual character of it.
 
As for the practicability, the kind of space travel required to colonize Mars is physically impossible. There could be no protection against such prolonged exposure to the sun’s radiation in space. Nor could anyone transport the vast resources even the most minuscule Mars base would require. One only need look at the results of the two Biosphere projects, earthly attempts to simulate a rudimentary base on another planet or other body. These failed almost immediately, physically and psychologically. This completely exposes the idiocy of the “terraforming” idea. And those projects had the deck loaded in their favor in many ways, much like the military’s “war games” always stack the deck in favor of the outcome the brass wants. Yet like many of these war games, and like so many other things designed by those who disregard reality, the biospheres nevertheless got clobbered by reality. I doubt Mars would give anyone such an initial advantage.
 
Any such attempt, like with any other necropolitan “great work”, would hoover up vast social resources and perpetrate further ecocidal ravages on THIS planet, our one and only home (but these persons are so insane they’ve forgotten that), for the benefit only of the richest and most powerful (and some of their thugs). Much like the geoengineering notion, it would be designed to convey vast amounts of public money and power to a few of the most privileged corporations. And even if a Mars colony were possible, those are the only persons who would benefit.
 
Of course, like with such technologies as geoengineering, pesticides and GMOs, the proponents of space travel and space colonization don’t really care whether it could ever work or not. The point is to gain time for further, total destruction of this Earth, and to exult in the idea for religious purposes.
 
Fantasies of space, wherever they go beyond escapist fantasy, always mean a psychotic hatred of our one and only home, Earth who created and nurtured us.
 
So it’s a good thing if kids today no longer have the literal stars in their eyes and no longer put “astronaut” at the top of their list of What I Want to Be When I Grow Up. Of course to obsess on Youtube or any other gadget with a screen also is to become alienated from reality, alienated from the Earth, mentally inert, maladaptive in an evolutionary sense. But at least one has stopped gazing “up”, the way every misguided religion from Christianity to modern scientism (actually a Christian epigone) has obsessively done. It would be one small step for man in the right direction.

The Only Test Left is of Human Resolve (One Test Case)

Those who are lukewarm on poison and ecocide continue the calls for “more and better testing”.
 
1. But I thought we’re already satisfied by the evidence record of many decades and all peoples that all industrial poisons cause cancer, birth defects and diverse other health evils. Anyone truly convinced of that would evolve beyond the “more testing” pathology and become an abolitionist. No abolitionist still would call for more testing, any more than an anti-slavery abolitionist would call for endless moral symposiums on whether or not slavery is evil. Those who issue such call admit they themselves aren’t sure: About whether poison destroys health, whether they really want to know how injurious and murderous it is, whether they really want to be forced to take a stand once and for all.
 
2. We’ve known many decades that animal tests are carried out in bogus ways. And when in spite of all subterfuge adverse results are found, these are suppressed or attacked. That will never change for as long as testing continues.
 
3. As a matter of science, the notion that testing on non-human animals gives information which reliably can be extrapolated to humans is dubious. As is the notion that controlled tests in a lab give reliable information for the incalculable real world. A lab test can prove a chemical causes cancer. It can never prove safety.
 
4. None of civilization’s activities and production gives its inmates any right to torture animals. But then, the poisons are designed and intended to perpetrate ecocide, so it’s no surprise that the kind of psychopaths which would commit such acts would also enjoy or tolerate laboratory torture. Those exact same researchers happily torture human subjects the same way any time they get the opportunity. The Nazi experimenters are only the most infamous example. The same kind of thing has been common in Western psychiatric hospitals.
 
Abolitionists know that pesticides are lethal poison to humans and all other animals; we know that the lab testing paradigm is unscientific and denies ecological truth; we know its practitioners and propagandists are frauds, liars, and sadists; we know that testing regimes, like every other part of the propaganda of production, are intended to support the ecocidal campaign by giving it a fake veneer of social and environmental responsibility.
 
Where it comes to the most toxic and worthless products of civilization such as agricultural poisons, the only valid position is total abolitionism. This rules out any form of lukewarm pretense that either the product or the system which produces and inflicts it has any redeeming quality. The mindset still mired in “we need more and better testing” simply displays its own ignorance, lack of self-assurance, and deep ambivalence toward the ecocidal campaign itself.

No One (Yet) Wants to Change Anything But the Climate

Over my years of writing about pesticides-GMOs and fruitlessly trying to find comrades for an abolitionist project (never found a single one), I’ve often observed that if I were a Monsanto hack I’d say to the anti-GMO people: “There’s quite a gap between your rhetoric about the extreme dangers of these products, and the paltriness of your preferred solutions. GMO labeling? Really? Surely if the peril were as dire as you say, you’d be calling for something rather more intrepid.”
 
This is true, and we can say the same about the climate crisis, and the greater ecological crisis of which climate change is just one part, not even the acutely worst part.
 
The science – both observed and projected – becomes ever more apocalyptic. And the gap between the science and the pathetic solutions touted by those same scientists and climate activists becomes an ever wider abyss.
 
The scientists could say they’ve confirmed that a twenty-mile wide asteroid will hit the Earth in two days, and their recommendation would continue to be: Electric cars, “Green New Deals”, “Green growth!”…Green jobs!…Keep Shopping!
 
Thus, the ultimate disaster capitalism is what they call “Green Capitalism”.
 
(Here’s a good summary of the ideology of the capitalist faction which sees a new profiteering and political opportunity within the crisis they and their fellow capitalist factions are driving as hard as they can. As the piece says, the likes of the Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg are tending a Green New Deal stable along with their more usual ones. As this propagandist of Dominion and Destruction gleefully proclaims, “it’s capitalist vs. capitalist”, and only good capitalists can and should be allowed to exist on their heat-scoured rock. But the evidence is that the rock shall rock them first.)
 
If I were a de jure climate denier (the type I describe above is the de facto denier, the climate crocodile crying fake tears, the type which acknowledges the crisis but then flips 180 degrees to claim the crisis can be met within the framework of the ecocidal civilization which congenitally causes and escalates it), if I were a de jure climate denier I’d observe that this abyss between prediction and preferred “solution” proves that all these climate activists are frauds. Which of course they are, since they’re just the other kind of denier.
 
None of them wants or can even conceive what’s necessary: Gaia and the economic civilization cannot co-exist. They are mutually exclusive. Industrial civilization inherently wages total aggressive war to exterminate Gaia, until Gaia finally smashes civilization like a bug. Civilization must go, one way or another. Homo domesticus, already in its 1945 hunkering in the bunker like Hitler, will insist on going out in the hardest, most destructive way possible. The very fact that Green Capitalism is the preferred religion of the overwhelming majority of “eco”-type persons is the best proof of this. Only a handful of Gaians, only a handful of deep ecologists will ever exist.
 
I’ve often stated the one and only one solution which in theory humanity could impose upon itself, but which in practice the Earth will impose upon it:
 
End all industrial emissions; end all destruction of sinks; work only in a way that rebuilds sinks. Above all, allow nature to resume its natural states of forest, wetland, grassland.
 
Of course there’s zero chance the civilization or any part of it will do this. Gaia herself will impose it in her time tested way. In the end, and likely sooner rather than later, Gaia will deal with this berserk global infestation the same way she’s always dealt regionally with regional infestations.
 
Civilization must go. The only question is whether humanity itself (just one of civilization’s many victims) must go extinct with it. The civilization certainly will try to take out the species itself. As we see in Brazil, the Philippines, Africa, Canada, everywhere, civilization is striving to complete the genocide of what remains of indigenous and traditional peoples before time runs out for it. It also will become more and more aggressive in trying to stamp out the rising movements from within it, movements toward community food, homesteading, any form of reskilling and adapting to a more resilient, more ecological, therefore more human way of life. Whether the civilization can exterminate the human species is the great question of our time. We who work to help the traditional nations and build new second nation movements are the ones trying to save the spirit and existence of humanity from the mass extinction being driven as the core project of the orcs, the berserkers, the psychopaths, the “civilized” hominids.

Ten Years

Today’s the tenth birthday of this blog. This is post # 1,237. Looking back at March 20th, 2009 I see that I posted six times on that first day. Most or all of those I’d previously posted as “diaries” at Chris Martenson’s site. Four are about Wall Street, one on globalization, and one on the fake climate movement. So I knew where I was headed from day one.
 
My first budding principle as a child, my first thought which as a child came intuitive, instinctive, something innate responding to what I saw of reality, which later would become a philosophical and spiritual principle…
 
I saw that nature is transcendent, beautiful and fulfilling, a value in itself, its healthy and whole existence is as important for humans as for every other species, and that the way humans are destroying it is horrific, evil, insane beyond the capacity of words to convey.
 
That was my first spirit thought, my first philosophy. In the end I feel it always remained my only underlying thought.
 
And I heard the scream of Gaia. At the time I heard it as a cry of despair. I got older and for many years I tried not to hear the scream. For many years I tried to find some place which could reconcile what I know intellectually and feel morally, with still being able to find something possible to believe in within the framework of the civilization. Most of all where I wouldn’t keep hearing the screaming of Gaia which I’ve heard so loudly since I was a child.
 
Trouble is the screams only kept getting louder, and meanwhile anywhere I tried to find integrity I found only different mutations of the same ecocidal lust, psychopathy, satanism, corruption, hypocrisy, double-standards, lies, and vile gluttony. In nihilistic moments I’d say to myself, why not just chuck out all human integrity, since none seems to exist?
 
Well, I decide the better path is simply to look to nothing but the assured self-destruction of the destroyers of the Earth. Those who take up the sword of ecocide will be their own keystone victim. We can only pray the suicide of the genocidal-ecocidal civilization happens fast enough (and without nuclear war) that Gaia, including the true natural humanity, has something to salvage. For humans that’s a long-shot, and I’m a pessimist about avoiding nuclear war, but I guess that’s my version of optimism. Gaia shall endure and once again thrive, in one phase or another.
 
Meanwhile the call of Gaia which resounds is no longer only a call of despair, seemingly from the past. Now I hear it more present, more insistent, louder than ever. And increasingly the despair is being transformed into rage.
