Instructions for Taking ISTQB Exams and AT*SQA Exams at Testing Centers
If you are interested in taking an exam at a testing center, please read through the rules and instructions below. You should first purchase your ISTQB exam voucher.
You can see the steps of how to check days and times for testing centers in the scheduling area below. Testing centers are generally available Monday-Friday, depending on the location. To check specific locations, dates and times, you will need to have a free AT*SQA account. Click on My Account above to access or create your account.
Before You Start: Find a Testing Center Near You
Testing centers are available worldwide, but not in all locations. Check if there's a testing center available in your area before scheduling.

Step 2: Check Available Days & Times
To see available exam dates and times for testing centers, you'll need an AT*SQA account:
- Visit atsqa.org/account and sign in (or create a free account)
- Select "Online Exam Access"
- Select "Accept" on the Proceed to Exam Scheduling page
- In Webassessor, select "Schedule An Examination"
- You can now view available testing centers, dates, and times
What You Need to Know Before Your Exam
ID Requirements:
Acceptable forms: Passport, Driver's License, Government-issued ID card, or NIN
Important: Your government ID name must match exactly with the name on your AT*SQA account. Your name in the exam system must match your ID.
Authorization Code:
You will receive an authorization code in your scheduling confirmation email. You MUST present this to the testing center staff.
What You CANNOT Bring:
- Food or drink during the exam
- Headphones or earbuds
- Electronic devices (phones, cameras, smart watches, signaling devices, pagers, alarms, recording devices)

Schedule Your Testing Center Exam
Follow these steps to schedule your exam at a testing center. You'll need your exam voucher code from your AT*SQA account.
Steps to Schedule:
- Visit atsqa.org/account and sign in
- Scroll down to locate your exam voucher code on your account page

- Select "Online Exam Access"
- Select "Accept" on the Proceed to Exam Scheduling page to continue to Webassessor
- In Webassessor, select "Schedule An Examination"
- Select your certification exam from the list (note "EXT" versions have extended time for non-native English speakers)
- Select your preferred testing center location
- Select your preferred exam date and time
- Proceed to checkout
- Enter your exam voucher code as payment
- Any tax charges will be removed once the voucher code is applied
- Complete your exam scheduling
Exam Day at the Testing Center
Here's what to expect when you arrive at the testing center on exam day.
Before You Arrive:
- Find your testing center location and confirm the address
- Know your authorization code from your scheduling email
- Have your government ID ready
- Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early
- Bring your ID and authorization code
At the Testing Center:
- Arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled exam time
- Present your authorization code and government ID to testing center staff
- Complete check-in procedures
- Staff will provide you with paper and pencil for notes if needed
- You'll be shown to your exam station
- Your exam is proctored at the testing center
- Complete your certification exam
Testing Center Rules:
- You must be 10 minutes early for your scheduled exam
- No food or drink during the exam
- No headphones or earbuds
- No electronic devices allowed in the testing area
- Paper and pencil are provided if you need to take notes
- Your ID must match your exam registration name exactly
