Instructions for Taking ISTQB Exams Online and AT*SQA Exams Online
If you are interested in taking an exam online, please read through the rules and instructions below. You should first purchase your ISTQB exam voucher.
Online exams are available 24 hours a day throughout the week. Note: You cannot schedule your exam until you have completed the system readiness check.

System Requirements
Before you schedule your exam, make sure your equipment meets these requirements.
Computer Requirements:
- Personal computer with full administrative access
- Chrome browser (required)
- All browser extensions deactivated
- One monitor, one keyboard, one mouse
Additional Equipment:
- Cellphone for second camera (Android requires proper permissions)
- Stable internet connection
- Valid government ID (passport, driver's license, or government-issued ID). Your ID name in your account must match your ID name. This is not case sensitive.
Note: You cannot use a work computer. Most work computers don't have full administrative access.

Complete Your System Readiness Check
Before scheduling your actual exam, you must complete a System Readiness Check. This is required and typically done at least 3 days before your exam.
What is the System Readiness Check?
It's a one-question mock exam that verifies your setup works with the online exam system. You'll go through the exact same process as your real exam.

Steps to Schedule the Readiness Check:
- Visit atsqa.org/account and sign in
- Select "Online Exam Access"
- Select "Accept" on the Proceed to Exam Scheduling page
- In Webassessor, select "Schedule An Examination"
- Select "System Readiness Check" from the list

- Choose your preferred day and time
- Download the secure browser from "My Exams"
Day of Your System Readiness Check:
- Log into atsqa.org/account 10 minutes before your check
- Go to "My Exams" and click the Launch button
- Read through the exam rules checklist
- Use your phone to perform an ID check (scan your government ID)
- Take pictures of your exam room and desk area for the proctor
- Wait for a proctor to connect via video
- Proctor reviews your setup and approves you to begin
- Complete the 1-question mock exam
- Results appear within 30 minutes
After Completion: Within 30 minutes, you'll see scheduling buttons next to your online exam options in Webassessor. You can then schedule your actual exam!

Schedule Your Actual Exam & Payment
After successfully completing your System Readiness Check, you can now schedule your actual certification exam using the same steps and pay with your exam voucher code.
Important: You must have completed the System Readiness Check before the scheduling buttons will appear.
Steps to Schedule Your Exam:
- Visit atsqa.org/account and sign in
- Select "Online Exam Access"
- Select "Accept" on the Proceed to Exam Scheduling page
- In Webassessor, select "Schedule An Examination"
- Select your certification exam from the list
- Choose your preferred exam date and time
- Proceed to checkout
Payment with Exam Voucher Code:
- At checkout, you'll see the final payment page
- Scroll down on your AT*SQA account page to locate your exam voucher code

- Enter your voucher code to pay for the exam
- Any tax charges will be removed once the voucher is applied
- Complete your exam scheduling
Available Exams: You may see two online exam options. "EXT" versions have extended time for non-native English speakers.
Exam Day Procedures (Same as Readiness Check):
- Log into atsqa.org/account 10 minutes before your exam
- Select "Online Exam Access"
- Select "Accept" on the Proceed to Exam Scheduling page
- In Webassessor, go to "My Exams" and click the Launch button
- Read and agree to the exam rules
- Perform ID check with your phone
- Take pictures of your exam room
- Wait for proctor to connect
- Proctor may ask you to adjust your setup
- Proctor approves and starts your exam
- Complete your certification exam

What You MUST Have:
- Valid government ID that matches the name on your account.
- Quiet, well-lit room
- Clutter-free testing surface
- Only your computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse
What You CANNOT Do:
- Use headphones/earbuds
- Eat or drink during the exam
- Have electronic devices in the area (phones, cameras, smartwatches, etc.)
- Interact with another person
- Move outside the video screen
- Look away from the screen for extended periods
- Read the exam aloud
After Your Exam:
Official Results: The official results and certification will be available within 24 hours of completing the exam
Tools Available: Electronic notepad and calculator are available on-screen during your exam

Special Accommodations:
If you need special accommodations (extended time, accessibility needs, etc.), please contact AT*SQA well in advance of your exam date. Requests must be made ahead of time.
Cancellation & Rescheduling:
Online exams: Must reschedule more than 24 hours in advance to avoid a $90 rescheduling fee
