Mindset First, Actions Second!

What are your thoughts on this?

💡Everything in life starts with your mindset first and your actions second. Your actions follow your thoughts, your beliefs and your ideas. So, start with getting your mind right, then act.💡

 

With longer, brighter (or even rainy) days, the summer months often spur us on to ‘do’ something different. Have you done something a little unusual or different this summer? Perhaps:

❓An activity that you’ve never tried before?

❓Visited a place that you’ve always wanted to go to?

❓Learnt something new?

❓Finally arranged that long overdue meeting with someone?

Did this start with having the right mindset to get on and do it? Did it give you that ‘feel good’ factor?

Mine was a trip around Scandinavia. I’ve always loved travelling and exploring new places plus I have always thrived on a bit of an adrenaline buzz (although mild compared to some I know!) I’m a little more cautious than I used to be in that I can have the “I’m not sure that I can do that” thoughts. However, something that I am very aware of is recognising my mindset and giving myself some useful reminders to overcome any mindset barriers that start to creep in. For example:

 

🗣️a) What is it that I really want to do/achieve? It’s not about comparing myself to others. This one is for me!

🗣️b) I know and believe that I can do this, even if it’s different to how others would approach it

🗣️c) What’s the worst that could happen? If it doesn’t go according to my initial plan then I shall look at other options. How am I approaching it? What do I need to change? Do I need to do it differently? How do I feel about it now?

🗣️d) Think of the buzz and happiness that it’ll give me in achieving it! I love that feeling and it’s very personal to me.

 

So I gave my head a good talking to on occasion and had the most sensational experiences (the pics tell a very small tale from it)! A 6,200km motorbike ride with my hubbie exploring Scandinavia, long hikes with some courageous viewpoints, Grade 5 white water rafting, cliff jumping, etc. I’d go back and do it all over again! Now what next? 😉

Know yourself first and foremost, have a clear vision that aligns with who you are then the actions can be refined to get there. Sometimes we can do this alone, sometimes we need a little help. I can help you with the latter if you need it. I won’t do it for you, instead will enable you to get to know yourself better, have the right mindset and know what you’re aiming for. Then with tools and strategies that I can support you with, you can make it happen and, significantly, with sustainability of change.
