With longer, brighter (or even rainy) days, the summer months often spur us on to âdoâ something different. Have you done something a little unusual or different this summer? Perhaps:
âAn activity that youâve never tried before?
âVisited a place that youâve always wanted to go to?
âLearnt something new?
âFinally arranged that long overdue meeting with someone?
Did this start with having the right mindset to get on and do it? Did it give you that âfeel goodâ factor?
Mine was a trip around Scandinavia. Iâve always loved travelling and exploring new places plus I have always thrived on a bit of an adrenaline buzz (although mild compared to some I know!) Iâm a little more cautious than I used to be in that I can have the âIâm not sure that I can do thatâ thoughts. However, something that I am very aware of is recognising my mindset and giving myself some useful reminders to overcome any mindset barriers that start to creep in. For example:
đŁď¸a) What is it that I really want to do/achieve? Itâs not about comparing myself to others. This one is for me!
đŁď¸b) I know and believe that I can do this, even if itâs different to how others would approach it
đŁď¸c) Whatâs the worst that could happen? If it doesnât go according to my initial plan then I shall look at other options. How am I approaching it? What do I need to change? Do I need to do it differently? How do I feel about it now?
đŁď¸d) Think of the buzz and happiness that itâll give me in achieving it! I love that feeling and itâs very personal to me.
So I gave my head a good talking to on occasion and had the most sensational experiences (the pics tell a very small tale from it)! A 6,200km motorbike ride with my hubbie exploring Scandinavia, long hikes with some courageous viewpoints, Grade 5 white water rafting, cliff jumping, etc. Iâd go back and do it all over again! Now what next? đ

Know yourself first and foremost, have a clear vision that aligns with who you are then the actions can be refined to get there. Sometimes we can do this alone, sometimes we need a little help. I can help you with the latter if you need it. I wonât do it for you, instead will enable you to get to know yourself better, have the right mindset and know what youâre aiming for. Then with tools and strategies that I can support you with, you can make it happen and, significantly, with sustainability of change.
