Tangled up in red

Cederblad 51 is a blue reflection nebula embedded within the red emission nebula Sharpless 2–264 in Orion — part of a complex of nebulosity near the hunter’s “head.” This portrait combines 69 hours 15 minutes of HαLRGB data gathered between Sept. 9 and Dec. 19, 2025, using twin 8-inch f/5 Newtonian telescopes.
