Hello AstroKai!! I've been checking your website every week or so for a while now, but have never had the time to leave a message here (or atabook wasn't working). I just wanted to say that I love your blogs and sometimes find them very relatable (especially wanting to go to Sweden and Canada) and the design of your website has a claming quality to it that I can't explain, and is definitely my favourite on the indie web so far Thank you so much for making this website and I'm looking forward to more blogposts. I really like to read about your chess learning journey! After reading through your posts about chess, I think we started learning it about the same time, however you sound much more determined and cooler and smarter at chess than me (and I envy you that you have a chess club near ) nonetheless, I always enjoy reading about where you are at chess, and you made me add The Queen's Gambit to my watchlist <3

Kai, long time no see! Great last blog post, I wanted to enlighten you a little bit. This Lunar new year is the year of the horse, and you'll find that a big part of that is finding new freedoms, and not carrying dead weight. I've been out in Vietnam for the past month or so, and I was told by a monk at our local temple that 'a horse does not carry more burden than he must'. Came as a surprise to me as well, because one of my new year's mini resolutions was to clean out all the clutter in my office/lab that has just turned into dead weight. Thought you'd find that interesting, and happy new year! -Chris

i found you off the nekoweb rss page, and was kept interested by your new mp3 player! i've been wanting to switch over myself but worry over the need of using earbuds as they personally just irritate my ears. what do you use for yours? Hi! Saw your blog post about your hand injury. I've been playing guitar for a while and I know that has to be a rough adjustment. I'm glad you are still able to play though, even if it is quite the adjustment! I got a classical guitar in high school and it was a lot of effort learning how to properly play with the classical finger style (without someone to teach me), but it was very fun to me once I got comfortable with it.

Damn, i am currently in the same state with a new hobby like you with chess xD Only that it is model trains and i didn't go to the club in my town, lol. I have the same issue where i am fully invested in a hobby for a couple of weeks and then burn out completely and loose all interest in it. So this time i didn't act after my impulse and buy a train set, but set the goal to wait until after christmas to see if i am still interested in it. After all, i still want to play guitar and ride bikes, too xD I will check out the video you linked
